We love our Bumbo! Able to place baby in it almost anywhere, and she enjoys it.
It's super sturdy and comfortable.
At first I thought it was just thin foam, but it is thick and well worth the money!
This is the best idea and product ever! I have a 4 month old and she loves sitting in this! I can't pop her in this seat and get ready and have her with me. Love this!!
Bought this Bumbo for my grandson and it works perfect! He is almost 5 months and cannot sit up alone yet but wants to so bad.. this chair does just that! Lets him safely sit up on his own. I also bought the matching tray you clip on and its a perfect mobile highchair! However I must say NEVER LEAVE BABY UNATTENDED!!
The only thing I don't like is the cost. I find this expensive for something you cannot use for very long!
I received this used from family and my child enjoyed using it. Use it when your child can hold their own head up and you'll have no issues. It is not forcing them in any position, it is just a seat. Use common sense and supervision and your child will like using this seat. I know mine did.
I have one of the original Bumbo seats, the kind without the straps! However, since I have always exercised common sense while pacing a baby inside this seat, it has never, ever even come close to being an issue. My children have never come remotely close to falling out of the Bumbo seat.
Some people said 'why use this seat and force a child's body into a posture they aren't ready for', well, you don't use this UNTIL your child can hold their own head up and keep their upper body in an upright position on their own for a little while. This chair does offer enough support to a baby who can hold their head and upper body up on their own fairly well.
I loved this chair and so did my babies. It offered a change of scenery for baby and gave my arms a rest. It was nice to have to sit on the floor with baby and feed them as well. I would not hesitate to buy another in the future.
these bumbo chairs are great!!! they help lil ones with sitting up , and are great for a high chair in a pinch if you have the attachable tray. They seem to last very long, as long as baby or pets aren't chewing on it!
I like the color selection in the stores, overall a great buy for new parents!
My best friend used a bumbo for both of her sons and she loved it so I got one when I had my son. When he was big enough to use it I tried it but he didn't like it. I assumed he just needed to grow a little more and decided to put it away for a while and try again later. Every few weeks I tried it but he really didn't like it and looked so uncomfortable. Though some babies and parents seem to love them, unfortunately my son did not like it at all.
I got the Bumbo seat and tray in teal for my son at my babyshower because I registered for it. I have over the years purchased it as many gifts for friends as well. It wasn't until my son was old enough to use it that I realized, it was a total waste of money.
The product itself is well made. I have had no damages to either piece however I wonder after extensive use how the chair would look from removing the tray often. You sort of have to squish it to fit it.
My son isn't the smallest guy, nor is he by any means a big guy. The seat is designed in such a way that their thighs are so snug...they don't move!! I'm able to squish my guy into the seat but i have a hard time buckling him into it. I get it - a few kids fell out and the product had a recal and straps became mandatory for them. The "additional" straps that are sent to the older seats are easier to use. I have one of the newer design ones and I squish my own hands trying to use the seatbelt thing that I never used it.
On top of it all - after I end up struggling with my - he got so mad at me and cried to get out after I finally secured him in.
When i got pregnant with my daughter I went on a hunt for all the must have baby products. While on the search I heard alot of moms talk about the bumbo seat and how amazing it is and so on. As a gift for my baby shower I received one of these seats and was excited to use it. When my daughter was born she was rather tiny weight wise, but as soon as a month hit she got chunky. With that said when the time came for her to use the bumboo seat her thighs were so thick that it was hard to put her in, none the less take her out the whole seat would come up with her. The sides looked like they were squeezing her legs and she just didnt enjoy it at all. The back rest was too low and the seat was not adjustable. So even though the idea was nice the seat did not work at ALL for us.
This is a terrible product, I will never understand the need to force a baby into a sitting position when their bodies are not ready to be in that position on their own. This can cause a lot of problems for babies developing bodies, spine and other parts.
Once they are old enough to sit the leg holes tend to be too small for babies legs and it just becomes another useless product.
