I love the bumbo baby seat it really helps your little person to sit up right and makes it so much easier to feed your child who isn't sitting up quite yet.
We purchased this for my son when he was born after I heard all the 'hype' over the product. It IS a great seat for smaller babies to allow them to learn to sit. It is light and convenient to take anywhere. We also bought the tray for the chair as well. Although it is a good seat, for some reason, my son HATED sitting in it for the most part and would arch is back so far that he'd slip right out eventually (with the tray not on). The quality is great but my overall complaint is that even tho it is good, I find the price i paid for the entire chair and tray (almost $90) is not worth it for a simple foam-like chair!
OMG this seat is the best chair ever invented! My daughter is 3 1/2 months old and I can sit her in this on the kitchen table while I cook dinner! This way she can see me, and I can see her. It is totally secure and holds her in place perfectly. I attach the tray you can get for it and put some toys on there and she is happy! Plus she looks so darned cute in it, cracks me up everytime! I bring it with me when I am going to other peoples houses visiting because it is so light weight and perfect for her. Highly recommend this for all moms!
I'm a huge advocate for the Bumbo! What a great invention. It's perfect for feeding, playing, or if you need to put the baby down while you are busy with cooking or cleaning. I would recommend to any mom!
Love how light the Bumbo is. Sits on top of my kitchen shelf out of the way. Easy to bring to friends houses so baby can be part of the action. Only concern is that baby can slip out when they straighten their bodies. My friends baby slipped out and fell to the floor! I like to use ours when I am cooking so baby can be with me and entertained, but I do not let him out of arms reach just in case.
I bought the bumbo before baby was born...seemed to be the trend! I like it for taking it places (ie camping and friends/family houses) It makes feeding a lot easier on the go...although thinking back, for the price I'm not too sure its worth it. Also challenging with a squirmy baby...seat becomes unsafe as child can slip out sideways and bump his/her head. I still recommend this product for it's convenience and confyness for the child.
I bought a bumbo seat second hand for my son, I find to buy new they are priced very high! I put my son in this at the recommended age and I never trusted him in it, it would sit him up, but he looked uncomfortable, when he would cry, he would stretch out, it looked like he would actually be able to fall out of the seat, I never trusted the seat, he never actually fell out because I was always close by but he could knock the tray off when he stretched out. I would recommend just buying a bouncy seat, cheaper and you can actually get a lot more use out of it!
I loved how it allowed my daughter to sit up and interact more with me when she was still to young to fully support herself. We bought a bumbo seat used and even ended up passing it on, because there was hardly any visible wear. It is a very durable product and super easy to clean and keep clean. The only thing I didn't find appealing about it is the price tag which is why we purchased a used one. I still find it worth the price, we just didn't have the extra cash for it at the time with all the other baby necessities.
Babies love to sit before their muscles are strong enough to hold them up. That's why the Bumbo seat is effective and it enables a baby between three and approximately 16 months to be seated unaided in a safe, upright position. As soon as baby has developed adequate neck and head control, they are able to sit unassisted in the Bumbo. The Bumbo seat helps give babies a new view of the world.
I bought the Bumbo for $35 at Walmart. The Bumbo came in handy when we went to visit my in laws as they did not have a height chair, so we used it as a temporary solution. I was able to put my daughter in the Bumbo so that she could eat her cereal at the coffee table flat on the floor with our supervision. My daughter sits in her Bumbo to play games that let her explore toys in a more comfortable position. The Bumbo is soft and seems to be comfortable although there are no straps or belts it is safe to use with supervision, and
as long as you use it as directed by the manufacturer. It's a great way to help your baby learn to sit, but do not use it as a substitute high chair. Do not put it on the table so your baby can watch you making dinner. Keep it safely on the floor, and make sure to monitor your child in it at all times. The Bumbo seat may be an extra set of hands, but is not a babysitter.
I too thought it looked a bit strange but hey, if it works, great! My daughter sat in it for a short period of time before she figured out how to wiggle herself out. It frustrated me more than helping so it didn't last long in my house,
Not worth the $50 I paid on sale.
