Molly Molly Molly Molly! Eww
I recieved the Matte Stick in the shade liquid honey. The packaging was very nice looking but lip stick came with white mold looking spots all over it and had a weird smell. I was very nervous to even apply this to my lips so I applied it to the back of my hand. It went on very dry and loopy, it wasn't a good formula. I would not recommend this to anyone! So disguising seeing the weird spots all over it and the smell!
A nice hint of colour
I received 2 100% Natural Origin Matte Sticks in "Liquid Honey" and "Buttery Blush" for free in exchange for my honest opinion.
The Matte Sticks provide more of a light tint upon first application, but they are buildable to a more noticeable colour if that is what you are looking for, however, they will never give you an opaque colour.
They do not glide on as smoothly as I would have expected from a product containing Jojoba, Kokum, Cupuacu and Cocoa Butter. Although they are not as drying as other matte lipsticks I've tried, they are also not as moisturizing as I would have hoped. The colour does not transfer to glasses or skin once dry, but the colour will need to be reapplied after eating and after a few hours of wear.
Overall, this is a good choice for anyone looking for a nice tint of colour that isn't drying. If you are looking for a long lasting more opaque colour, this is not the right product for you.
Sooo goood
I received this product and was able to try both colours of Buttery Blush and Liquid Honey. The Blush one was a tad bit too light and pink for my warm skin tone. I believe that this colour would match neutral to cool toned skin. Liquid Honey for me was the PERFECT shade. It was dark enough and buildable! At first when I put it on, it was a little hard to use because it wasn’t that easy to glide on. But after the initial application, it was smooth and really great for even dried lips! The only problem I have is with the lid, you have to match the angle or else you can dent the shape of the lipstick.
Gets gunky
I am a lipbalm addict, and I am also in the process of collecting quite a few lipsticks and glosses. My lips have a tendency to crack and bleed if not constantly moisturized, so I am careful that the products I use don't dry them out further or damage them. Burt's Bees Matte Stick to me falls somewhere between a lipbalm and a matte lipstick. I am on the fence about how much I like it though.
I have two colors, Buttery Blush and Liquid Honey. Buttery Blush, is more of a pinky-taupe and suits my usual looks more. Both sticks came with wax bloom, due to their natural content. This looks like it could be mold, but it's just the waxes and oils in the sticks reacting to the changes in temperatures and environments they were put through to get to me (shipping). They were perfectly fine and safe to use, though I notice the sticks continue to be sensitive to changes in temperature, and I have centralized air. This also affects how they apply, the first time I used them, they felt very dry and stiff, and very hard to spread with no slick to them. After being on my lips and warming up, the product softened and felt and looked much nicer, actually a bit moisturizing too! The next couple of times I tried warming Buttery Blush in my hands a little before applying and it made a big difference in ease of use, I was also able to get more sheer coats out of the stick. The shades were nicer, a matte finish with a slight satin sheen, but after a while they got a little gunky.
But it's a bit more work than I really want out of a product. I prefer grab, apply and go. I also worry about what would happen if I kept it in my purse when I went out on a warm or hot day if it's this sensitive? Too, twice now I didn't close a cap at the exact right angle and the stick smushed and was not fixable, I was not impressed.
To be honest, while I love that it's a natural product with some very nice shades, there are similar ones out there that are not so fussy and that look better overall. I will stick with Burt's Bees lipbalms for now.
I received these products free as part of a testing program from another company, but my opinion is my own.
Incredible!!!
Burts bees always has the best combination of ingredients for your skin and this is no exception. I am absolutely in love with this product and use it daily
Nice Colours
Ive tried two of these matte sticks in Buttery Blush and Liquid Honey shades. The colors are are really pigmented and have a nice matte finish on your lips.I also like to add a little gloss to make in shiny.
The matte sticks are a nice size and easy to keep in your purse or for on the go.They are made from 100% natural origin which I love about Burt's bees products.
There is a combination of Jojoba,Cupuacu,Cocoa and Kokum Butters to nourish and keep your lips feeling moisturized and healthy. The matte sticks are very creamy and glide over your lips with ease.
The colors stay put and you dont need to apply again. They come in a variety of colors to choose from.
Take care of your lips with all natural color
I have 2 of these matte stick in liquid honey and buttery blush and are really impressed. For 100% natural origins they last very well on my lips. You get a matte finish which I like with my fair skin tone. I'll spice it up with some clear lip gloss over top if I'm going out or want my lips to really pop. The containers are smaller than a standard lipstick and fits perfectly in my makeup bag or purse. They glide on my lips smoothly and the color applies evenly. Love how my lips feel hydrated and never feel dry when I have it on. Even at the end of the day when I remove it, my lips are still smooth. Your lips stay hydrated and nourished because of the cocoa, jojoba, and kokum butters! Haven't had any issues with staining on my skin at all. I will definitely be trying more colors! My favorite so far is the Buttery Blush.
Loved it
Burt’s Bees Matte Sticks in the shades 425 Buttery Blush & 475 Liquid Honey.
The Matte Sticks are very good. The give balm like nourishment to your lips along with a really nice color. It is good for daily wear as I don’t like to go over-the-top with my makeup everyday at work/home. I like to keep it subtle.
Love the colour!
Variety: liquid honey. I absolutely love this colour!! It's dark and bold but still has a red-ish tint to it. It makes my skin pop and really ties my look together. It's also very moisturizing and nourishing. I love that burt's bees makeup is made from natural ingredients, it makes me feel better about the stuff I put on my skin.
Tacky
The shade I tried was Buttery Blush which was barely visible after application. I found this very tacky and had to be dragged across the lips. The colour doesn’t last very long. This felt like a weird cross between lipstick and lip balm. I am not a fan of lip balm. For me this was a miss, but if you like lip balm then this might be good for you.
Normally I love Burt’s Bees, but this one left me lackluster and wanting.
