Works decently!
The hand salve gives a really minty scent, kind of smells like pine in a way.. My hands are quite dry so I like taking this with me wherever I go to moisturize my palms. Easy to carry. The only problem is that it is quite expensive for a small quantity of whats given; you can find way more effective hand creams or balms for a much cheaper value. I cannot lie though; this product is lovely but I feel as if theres a more hydrating hand balm product out there. This surely make your hands soft and hydrated, but within an hour or two I have to reapply it sometimes.
Packaging is not ideal
I received this as a gift and I was excited about using it. I have always heard great things about Burt's Bees products. Unfortunately this one didn't exactly wow me! I felt that the small, flat, round packaging was not ideal for the intended "hand salve" use. I especially find it hard to use as I have long nails. The packaging is probably more reasonable for a lip balm or lip butter. You need to use a LOT of product in order to really feel the moisture.
Works great for dry and cracked hands due to the cold or even too much cleaning. The product is very soothing to my sore hands. Plus the bonus of it is; very little needs to be used in order to be effective. :-)
Although this product is a little greasy (although most hand salves I've tried are), as someone with dry cracking hands, I found it to be quite effective throughout the winter, and it lasts a long time.
My daughter has always had sensitive skin, and it broke my heart to see how chapped her hands got this past winter. They were bright red, cracked, and she would scream in pain when washing her hands. You never want to see your 4 year old go through this. We couldn't use regular lotions as it would burn and cause more pain. I was about to take her to the doctor to see what, if any relief he could provide when my mother in law recommended a hand salve. I immediately went to the store and picked up Burts Bees Hand Salve. We put it on her overnight, and by morning she was better - not perfect, but a LOT better. We used this all winter to fix her hands and prevent them from getting chapped again. It's oily, but it works well.
As an avid gardener, I can say this is life saver. Great for dry hands from repeated washings and dry, beaten, and cracked cuticles. For best results, cover with warmed cotton gloves and wear overnight. The next morning your hands turn out baby soft! It's a little expensive, but very worth it!
This all natural hand salve is wonderful for dry, chapped and cracked skin. It also doubles as a hard-working cuticle cream. Though the texture is a bit oilier/greasier than many other hand creams, it is well worth the results. Slather this on at night, paying special attention to your cuticles and by morning voila, fantastically soft, smooth and touchable hands. Also works great on dry elbows and heels. Though it is a small container for the price the results speak for themselves.
I enjoy this product a lot. It has a pleasant smell, unlike most other moisturizing products. I'm not in love with the overly greasy feeling it leaves. But it does help to moisturize. Burts Bees is a bit expensive, but considering the better ingredients that are in it I'm willing to pay more.
This is a good product! I actually used a Burt's Bees cream on a tattoo and it helped heal it fast and took good care or it.
Wow. I absolutely love this stuff. For dry, cracking hands, this works great. It comes in a tin that you can just throw in your purse (no worries about bottles squeezing out all over everything). The main ingredient is olive oil, but it doesn't smell terrible, like you'd imagine.
