Better as a dry coating

We tried this breading and coating mix for the first time. We deep fried the fish but the batter crumbled. I would recommend using it as a dry mix coating and then frying in butter instead. It did not coat as well as the others we have tried, and I followed the directions to dry coat it first, then mix the batter with beer and dip the fish in and deep fry.
