#902 in Books

Description

Publisher's Description:
Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the annual Hunger Games with fellow district tribute Peeta Mellark. But it was a victory won by defiance of the Capitol and their harsh rules. Katniss and Peeta should be happy. After all, they have just won for themselves and their families a life of safety and plenty. But there are rumors of rebellion among the subjects, and Katniss and Peeta, to their horror, are the faces of that rebellion. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge. Suzanne Collins continues the amazing story of Katniss Everdeen in Catching Fire, the second novel of the phenomenal Hunger Games trilogy.

    Super !

    Bonsoir,

Le premier film m'a donné envie de connaitre l'intégralité de l'histoire originale.

Et après la lecture des trois tomes je ne suis pas déçu.

Super livre, super écriture, super histoire, super personnages, super rebondissements.

Les détails supplémentaires par rapport aux films sont géniaux et change l'aspect général de l'historie.

    Merci,

This is the second in the trilogy. I've only read the first 2 so far, and the first one is so far the best.

This second book in the Hunger Games trilogy picks up where the first left off. Thankfully, there is minimal recapping, but that also means you cannot read these books out of order. Which is actually a big plus for me.

As both a sequel to the first and a prequel to the finale, there is a good deal of "setting up" in the first part of the book and so it drags just a smidge to begin with. I was drawn in much more quickly with the first book.

And then - mega twist. The second half of this book takes off like a rocket and leaves you with an infuriating cliffhanger.

I think there was a little less originality here, which you'll get when you read it. However, I forgive it.
