#902 in Books

Description

Publisher's Description:
Against all odds, Katniss Everdeen has won the annual Hunger Games with fellow district tribute Peeta Mellark. But it was a victory won by defiance of the Capitol and their harsh rules. Katniss and Peeta should be happy. After all, they have just won for themselves and their families a life of safety and plenty. But there are rumors of rebellion among the subjects, and Katniss and Peeta, to their horror, are the faces of that rebellion. The Capitol is angry. The Capitol wants revenge. Suzanne Collins continues the amazing story of Katniss Everdeen in Catching Fire, the second novel of the phenomenal Hunger Games trilogy.

Easily the best of the trilogy.

It's non-stop, can't put it down until you've finished, can't stop thinking about it after action. Deeply thought provoking.

After you finish reading the triology, you have to go back and read them again because you can't stop thinking about it.

I went out and bought the second book in the Hunger Games series before I even fished the first. I was about 20 pages away from finishing and knew that I had to find out what happens to Katniss, Peeta and Gale. It was amazing, I finished reading it is three days. I haven't been sucked into a series like this since Harry Potter but I'm so glad I've found a series that has me reading again. The heroine Katniss is really that, a heroine and I like that she is a strong female to contend with in the Hunger Games. And the affable Peeta reminds me a tiny bit of Neville in the Harry Potter books, a little bit hopeless but you can't help but love him.

This is the second book to the Hunger Games. I finished this book in a day because I just couldn't put it down. The entire book was really intense. I'm reading the third one now and I'll be so sad when I'm done reading the third one. The only thing I am not fond of is the way they ended this book. But that's okay since I have the third one in hand to start right away.
