I received the Catelli Ancient Grains Rotini as part of the Chickadvisor club. I love that the pasta contains 5 ancient grains and it is high in fibre. I found the texture to be a little grainy but the taste was good. My kids weren't the biggest fans of it unfortunately but for hubby and I, I would definitely make again!

I made a Rotini Turkey casserole with my leftover turkey. (This bird was huge and yielded a whole turkey breast as leftovers). I honestly could not taste any difference in the pasta.
It was very flavourful and cooked quickly. Only I knew the true secret, that this ancient grain pasta was healthier, and made with non-GMO grains. U highly recommend this to anyone who is trying to eat more consciously.

I was excited to try the Catelli Ancient Grains Rotini as part of the Chickadvisor program #gotitfree. I love that the paste contains 5 ancient grains and it's higher in fibre. Its also sodium free which is an added bonus. This is a great healthy choice for supper. I did find that i needed to cook the pasta a bit longer to make it soft plus the texture was a little grainy. All in all the family liked and we will have it again!

I received Catelli Ancient Grains pasta for free as part of the ChickAdvisor Product Review Club.
The positive: This is a healthier type of pasta being 100% whole grains. I feel better serving this to my family rather than regular white pasta. I personally liked the taste of the best pasta. I think it would be best with a tomato sauce or light sauce. I unfortunately made it with a white cream sauce which did not work together at all.
The not so positive: The texture of the pasta is a lot different than that of white pasta. I found the texture to be mealy, which to me is quite unpleasant. This is the only reason I would not purchase again.

It tastes different from other catelli pastas, but it's a, good different. It's healthy. We make the entire box and there's never any leftovers and it's filling.

As others have commented it has a more mealy type texture. I don't think it would be for kids in my opinion (unless your little ones like brown bread) and it feels denser and more hearty when you eat it. It goes well with a meaty bolognese sauce, wouldn't go well with a white sauce in my opinion. Overall it's good though, 4/5 stars.

The texture was a bit different but I enjoyed it. My tastes have been changing since I have been making healthier choices. I found this pasta to be really good in baked recipes allowing it to cook a bit slower and absorb the flavour of the sauce.

I don't think that there's a Catelli pasta my family has tried that they didn't like. Catelli Ancient Grains is a hearty pasta that my family really enjoyed. I love that it's made with Canadian whole grain wheat.

Thank you for the free sample ChickAdvisor!

As excited as my family and I were about trying this pasta - we all found it hard to retain that excitement once we tried it. The pasta was made according to the recipe "Rotini with 3-peas and pesto" I received in the #ChickAdvisor #gotitfree package (which was a pleasure to unwrap, btw!) but we found the finished product to be dry and rather bland. Perhaps if we tried it with a different recipe or cooking it a different way (it was cooked according to the instructions on the box) we would enjoy it more. Very thankful for the opportunity to be able to try this, though! I'd probably be willing to give it another try using a different recipe in the future.

I received a box of the Ancient Grains Rotini to try out from Chick Advisor and I was actually pleasantly surprised that my whole family loved it.

Positive: It contains 5 ancient grains and it's higher in fibre than most other pastas, also it's sodium free which is an added bonus.

Negative: I find it needs to cook a little bit longer than the 6 minutes specified on the package in order to get to the same softness as other regular pastas.

For kids I would recommend cooking the pasta directly in the sauce, this way it will soak up more of the flavor from the sauce and they may not notice the slight difference.
