I would say that this product is pretty similar to any whole grain pasta product. I like the idea of the ancient grains in the pasta. The flavor was good and it cooked up nicely.

I receive Catelli ancient grains rotini compliments of chick advisor for testing purposes and it was sooo delicious. Cooked it with a pesto chicken and the noodles were super tasty and 100 % whole grain blend with 5 ancients grains. My kids loved it and I've made these noodles a few times having to purchase a new box. Thanks Catelli

I did not receive the catelli ancient grains rotini in my box of free sample from chick advisor to try. Would have loved to review but have never had it. Sorry

I typically don't like the taste of whole wheat pasta and I found this pasta tasted somewhat 'grainy.' My husband liked the taste, but I couldn't get my kids to eat it. It was good value for how much pasta you get in the box, however I did not care for the taste. I probably would not buy this product in the future.

Really great product, although it didn't seem that different from other whole wheat or whole grain products. Would definitely buy again, but more so if it were on sale or priced the same as a similar product.

So, being of Italian descent, I'm all about pasta. But knowing what we all know about wheat products these days, I am fairly choosey. I want non-gmo. And ancient grains are much better for us. When I was selected to try Catelli Ancient Grains Rotini in the ChickAdvisor Product Review Club, I was so excited! I cooked it exactly according to the directions on the box ... nice and easy! I cooked it al dente and used it in a turkey casserole. I (of course) tried the pasta plain, right out of the pot. I loved the flavour. It has almost a very mild nutty flavour, and a coarser texture than some pastas. Cons: when mixing my casserole, the already-cooked pasta broke up into little pieces. Much of it didn't stay as whole rotini. Now, honestly, in a casserole, who cares ... right? My family sure didn't. Everyone could tell by the flavour and texture that it was different than regular white or whole wheat pasta, and it was a hit. Based on flavour alone, it would get a perfect rating. I wouldn't recommend this pasta for anything where presentation matters though, because of how it fell apart. While I loved the taste, I do feel the cost is a bit on the high side for a box of pasta. I know that anything non-gmo or with ancient grains (or any claim of being healthier) comes with a higher cost, and this irks me at the best of times. This pasta costs approximately 2 times as much as a similar sized box of regular rotini, and I'm not sure I am prepared to pay that price on a regular basis. One box of prepared pasta (mixed into a casserole) made 5 dinner-sized servings.

I used this pasta with a cream sauce and I honestly think that was a mistake. The taste of the pasta overwhelmed the taste of the sauce so much that it was barely edible. It has a bit of a gritty texture but does stay nice and firm. Maybe it would be better in a stronger flavoured tomato pasta or with pesto, but with the pasta itself having such a strong flavor anything mild does not work.

I'm not really into whole grain pastas so I knew what to expect taste wise. Tastes similar to other whole grain pastas but the kids didn't seem to mind. Overall good product if you're into whole grains.

The flavour was nice it added an extra taste to our pasta meal. The colour was nice and my children didn't notice they were eating something that was extra good for them. They just thought it was neat being different colour.
