We received this product to try from the ChickAdvisor's Product Review Club and tried the Ancient Grains Rotini in a pasta salad. The kids weren't quite as thrilled because we usually use the Catelli tri-coloured noodles for pasta salad to make it fun, so the additional veggies to make the salad "pop" weren't as popular with the kids this time around. It had a great taste. I know the kids would have loved it too if I had presented it another way. The pasta came out great, I cooked it as per the instructions on the box, it did not pastey like some other whole grain pastas. I would definitely try it again with a sauce.
I thought that these rotinis were a little bit more firm and grainy in texture than the normal ones I would buy, but since it has ancient grains I am willing to compromise for the health benefits. Overall it went well with the tomato sauce I used and I enjoyed the meal! Would purchase another 'flavour' in this brand again, because it is at a good price point.
I love this healthy alternative! My son and I enjoyed our Catelli Ancient Grains Rotini with Bolognese sauce. We will definitely buy this pasta again. #gotitfree
My kids did not like the texture of Catelli Ancient Grains Rotini. They thought it was too grainy and not firm like regular rotini. My husband and I did not mind it. Because it is healthier for you, my husband and I would eat it occasionally but my kids will probably stick with regular rotini.

Catelli ancient grains rotini tastes delicious! We made it as a pasta salad and it was really good. The pasta cooked well and the price is great. I will definitely be recommending this healthier version of pasta.

I made this rotini as part of a cold pasta salad. I thought it had a grainy texture (not surprising, given the name of the product!). I would not make it again to eat cold, but I can see how it would taste good with a meat sauce instead. However, my 5 and 8 year old each took seconds of the pasta salad, so their picky palates couldn't detect a difference!
I received the Catelli Ancient Grains Rotini from ChickAdvisor for free for my honest review. With the pasta I also received a recipe card for Rotini with 3 Peas and Pesto. I followed the recipe and the dish turned out just like the picture.
My husband loved it, I thought it was okay and my kids thought the rotini was too hard. I thought the rotini was a little on the harder, denser side compared to my regular rotini but I expected this with a whole grain pasta. The recipe was very good and the flavours went well together. I might buy it again sometime as a healthier alternative but it would not replace my regular rotini. Perhaps with a rich tomato sauce it would taste better and not so "healthy".
I received a sample package of Catelli Ancient Grains Rotini free as part of the ChickAdvisor Product Review Club. We usually eat whole grain pasta, but found this one to be a bit more grainy and coarse than other whole grain pasta products. However, my kids still loved it and gobbled it up!
Such excitement when the fabulous box arrived! I was expecting a box of pasta, but no, we recieved two boxes of pasta, a lovely set of bamboo utensils, a trivet and two recipe ideas. Fabulous. So we made the spaghetti the first night, and moved onto the rotini the next night. Giada de Laurentiis has a lovely recipe for Rotini with Salsa di Limone on the Foodnetwork website that was perfect to serve with the citrus baked cod that was on the menu for dinner. Plus we got to use the last of our lemon boy tomatoes from the garden. The pasta was great - the flavour, the texture - everyone loved it. It was a perfect meal for the last dying days of summer here.
I recently had the opportunity to try Catelli Ancient Grains Rotini free through ChickAdvisor.
I'm always trying to find a way to get more protein and fiber into my families diet, so I was excited to try this one. While the taste of these noodles was fine, the texture left me a little off. The pasta didn't "bulk up" in the water, they stayed quite the same size. While I will possibly get them again, I will probably mix them with a different pasta to give it a little more volume on the plate.
