No to the salmon

The bag of salmon treats I got was very dark and hard looking compared to the picture (or indeed the other flavours) and what's strange is they were so pungent. Not strange, you say, for cat treats. Well, here's the thing, it wasn't a fishy smell. I have no idea what the smell was, but it was really, really terrible. The other flavour (chicken) smelled totally fine and looked normal, but these were extremely unpleasant smelling.

On top of that, none of my three cats seemed to rate the salmon very much and one (the skinny one who isn't as food motivated) didn't even finish his. I would recommend the chicken flavour over these, as it's a reasonable price for a food missing so many 'problem' ingredients and I do like that they don't get all over your fingers like my usual brand. The treats also are a nice small size (don't interfere with dinner) and thus have a reasonable amount in a bag. However, when it comes to the salmon flavour, it's a hard pass for me and my cats.

I would, however, fully recommend the chicken treats, which were free of the problems I had with the salmon. My cats really enjoyed the chicken treats and we'll continue to feed them those!
