Best vitamin we have tried!
As a family of 4, who is always on the run, I always worry if my kids are getting all the vitamins and minerals they need to continue to go and stay healthy. These pills are keeping us all safe, healthy and filled with energy. The best all around vitamins for your entire family.
great for a daily multi
I used many different daily multi vitamins and find this one has less fillers than other vitamins, and more of what the body needs on a daily basis,i feel better when taking them daily
I have a sensitive stomach and this product was very hard to take. It make me queasy all day. I found it much easier to take specific vitamins separately rather than an all in one
These vitamins when taking the Centrum Advantage variety are recommended to be used twice a day. They contain both vitamins and minerals and were my family doctor's choice for use. They are easy to swallow although a fair size as vitamins go. There is absolutely no taste involved so therefore none of that sickening aftertaste in your mouth.
My husband sometimes has a B12 deficiency and our doctor recommended he take Centrum multivitamins daily. The next blood work in three months showed his B12 level was normal. His levels stay normal as long as he takes it. He ran out of them and he didn't tell me to buy more and he didn't remember to get them either. We got a call from the doctor after his next blood work to say his B12 was low. He started to take the Centrum multivitamins again and his B12 went back up to normal. So YES they are effective despite what other reviewers have said.
This review is a plug CENTRUM FORTE, and rant about supplements in general. Enjoy...
Really, you should be getting all your daily nutrition from quality food, i.e.: whole-grain whole wheat bread (preferably stone-milled, not processed, with at least 3g of fiber per slice!), high fiber cereals (at least 10g of fiber per serving), fruits and vegetables (not juices! too much sugar!) and lean/low-fat protein (skinless chicken, fish). There are two exceptions to this: vitamin D and fish oil.
1) Vitamin D: For those of us in Canada, it's difficult to get the recommended 1,000 IU per day. Centrum Forte has 600UI, leaving the rest up to you, i.e.: get some sunshine if possible. (I know winter is difficult, especially when it's overcast and a burning -40*C). Benefits of vit D include lowering risk of depression and obesity; a definite diet staple for anyone trying to manage their weight.
Now for the rant...
2) Fish Oil, specifically Omega-3. Daily recommended doses are around 1,000mg. The biggest source comes from salmon, but since you're not likely to eat it everyday, a supplement is nice. This oil helps reduce bad cholesterol, LDLs, and boosts good cholesterol, HDL. This has a huge impact on cardiovascular health, eliminating the junk that accumulates in your arteries, eventually leading to stroke or heart attack. Cardiac disease is a top killer of Canadians, so Omega-3 is a great addition to any healthy diet. Unfortunately, Centrum and all other vitamins do NOT contain Omega-3s. You have to get them separately in a capsule. Make sure you check the dosage! Remember ~1,000mg per day!

A chemical/pharmaceutical "vitamin" cannot be actually considered a vitamin. There are tons of article and studies out there that explain the major difference bteween a natural source supplement and a synthetic one. Not only it does NOTHING for you, it may be harmful. Invest in a good multivitamin and enjoy the benefits.
I do not recommend this to anyone!!!
When I first started taking it I didnt think it would do much of a difference to my hair nails skin and energy levels, I've been on it for a little over a year now and the results are by far amazing. I have energy to last all day and sleep like a baby at night, my hair nails and skin have a healthy shine and glow to them, I would recommend these to anyone looking for a good supplement. If you get lucky you can even get them on sale for buy one get 1 which makes it a great value.
