I think it could just be me (I prefer foaming cleansers), but this product left my face feeling tight and unrefreshed after using it. It did not make my skin feel smooth and moisturized - just the opposite.
I do not have acne, so this may be part of the issue - as a normal skinned person, this just wasn't the cleanser for me.
I very rarely use this product as a facial cleanser, but when I do i find it to be gentle and non-irritating. I enjoy using it for other uses such as lice removal and cleaning. This versatility is what keeps me purchasing this product.
This cleanser works great at removing your leftover makeup and makes sure your face is clean. I used to like it a lot until I've realized it contains paraben, which is something I don't want on my skin cause it can cause cancer. If they can remove that ingredient, it'll be great.
It is a very gentle cleanser. No harsh smells and no irritation to my sensitive skin. It however did not do a good job at removing makeup. Did almost nothing to my waterproof mascara. I typically use an oil based remover for my eye make up so I followed up with the Cetaphil to remove the excess oil and greasiness from my face. Even then it didn't leave me feeling fresh, cleansed and my face bare.
This cleanser is really gentle on skin and so I would recommend trying it if you have sensitive, acne prone, or dry skin. However, it does not seem to completely cleanse the skin and traces of dirt are left behind, even though I don't use make up so you need to really massage it properly and then rinse it off. So I wouldn't necessarily recommend it as your sole cleanser if you have very oily skin or if you wear a lot of make up. It also takes a while to get used to because it doesn't lather.
My daughter uses this to help with her Eczema. It seems to help reduce down the flaring of the skin irritation.
Turns out, it's really a soap full of junk, it contains methylparaben and masking fragrance. The cetaphil gentle cleanser isn't any better as it contains 3 parabens instead of 1. I don't know why doctors recommend this
You must remember that this is not soap! There is no lather at all so don't expect that when you use this cleaner. If you have really sensitive skin that dries out easily this is the product You can use it all over your body as an overall cleaner and it will help with breakouts. If you don't have super sensitive skin its kind of not worth it.. Its kind of a last resort face cleaner if you have problem skin.
I tried Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser for my dry/sensitive skin. It very gentle and no irritation yet it doesn't clean my face properly and it doesn't remove the makeup.
