Large selection of colors
The Chanel Vernis d'Ongles is long lasting, high-end and has a wide range of colors that feel luxurious and have a nice sheen to it. However, from personal experience, it is vunerable to chipping once in a while. I advise to use a clear top coat over the nail polish to maintain the lasting color of the nail polish. The price is a factor to consider when buying it.
I love Chanel Le Vernis. It's become a recent obsession. So far the formulas are great. I don't love that you have to take off the square cover to grab the handle to apply the polish, but I guess that's a small thing. What would be fabulous, is if they created a Chanel handle that you could use, but I digress.
The formulas are great, I've tried a few and I'm totally in love. If you see a colour you love, you should get it, especially if it's a part of seasonal collections, because those sell out fast!
I have 589 - Elixir and I love it. The colour is perfect and one coat is all you need. I received this as a gift and since the price is a bit more than I'm comfortable with for nail polish (even Chanel nail polish) I unfortunately probably won't get this again. That being said, if you're okay with the price I would definitely recommend picking yourself up a bottle!
I love almost everything Chanel from bags to makeup!
One of my treats to myself each season is to get a new polish... Chanel has been the trendsetter in color for the last few years - remember Black Satin, Blue Satin, Vamp, Haute Chocolat and of course the crazy Jade polish trend of Fall 2009?
Well, Chanel is back again with the Spring 2010 collection, with Particuliere getting the hype (see left bottle). I was happy to get a bottle just in time for New Years Eve. Particuliere is a great neutral - greyish taupe with no shimmer. Very pretty and flattering. The downside is the same as the the other Chanel polishes I own - chipping! I use a good base and top coat, but I chip usually by Day 2 or 3. Otherwise, the colors are beautiful and application is smooth.
I'll still buy Chanel since they're original and set the trends, but I wish their formulas were a bit more chip resistant! Current price is $23 US or $26 Cdn.
