The Choice for Lactose Intolerance
If you are suffering from lactose intolerance, but want to experience the pleasures of an ice cream product, Chapman's Lactose Free, No Sugar Added Ice Cream with Salty Caramel and Peanuts is right for you. I wish there was more flavour to this ice cream. It is more sweet tasting than anything, but does give you a satisfying feeling. The caramel is mild and not a lot of it, but it does add a bit of a zing to the dessert. The cost is a prohibitive factor. Thanks to Butterly for the opportunity to test and review this product. #TryChapmansCanada #gotitfree
Sugar free Lactose free Ice Cream
Chapmans offers good range of sugar free and lactose free ice cream. I was offered Salted Caramel and Peanuts No Sugar added Lactose free ice cream.
-The flavour of caramel and peanuts was very yummy and just right
- Ice cream is Sweetened with Maltitol and Sucralose
- I tried lactose free ice cream for the 1st time but couldn’t make out the difference from the regular ice creams
Good For Those On Restricted Diets, But Not For Me
I wasn't sure what a no-added-sugar ice cream would be like, but since I don't like products that use sucralose, it definitely wasn't a product for me. For diabetics, I'm sure it's great, and I do like the lactose-free option since some of our family has issues with digesting dairy, but the artificial sweetener used was what I wasn't a fan of. I'd love to see a version that uses only maltitol or a sugar alcohol along with a natural sweetener. For those that absolutely can't have sugar, though, I'm sure it's a product that's appreciated.
Not my favorite product from Chapmans
First, not a huge fan of the outside of the container. The flowers and butterfly with the purple did not strike me as ice cream. It looked more like the label on laundry soap offering spring fresh scent. Now the ice cream tasted alright, but reminded me too much of a butter pecan and that is my favorite flavor.
New sweet treats!
I am a believer that ice cream tastes best when made from cream and sugar. I understand the need to have alternatives for all to enjoy and have enjoyed some. But I unfortunately didn’t completely enjoy this ice cream, it wasn’t my cup of tea.
The points I did enjoy, the smooth texture for the ice cream, the soft texture, it was almost like soft serve. The peanuts weren’t mushy, they still had a bite to them. The packaging is lovely and does stand out.
I didn’t enjoy how overly sweet it was to me. The vanilla portion was sweet and then the caramel ribbon was even sweeter. I was expecting the salted caramel to be a hit of flavour, but was just sweet. There was an unfortunate after taste in my mouth after I finished my 2 scoops.
Even though I didn’t enjoy this version of ice cream, i will still try your other new ones!
Thank you for allowing me to sample one of your new flavors.
Unique Treat
salty caramel & peanuts a treat when you do not want to choose between a sweet bite or salty one. obviously not a choice for those in my family with nut allergies and intolerance to sweeteners.
it didn't taste like salted caramel
Big size container, a little pricy I wouldn't buy it again. Nothing special about it my 8 year old daughter would rather something else but tried it and usually goes back for another bowl and she did not like it at all.
It was okay
It took a while for me to find this product as most stores did not carry it. I was curious to try since it has no sugar added and is lactose free. I was a little disappointed once I tried it as it was overly sweet. It was so sweet that I would not want another bite after having some. My mom also tried and felt it was way too sweet for a product that contained “no sugar added”. I do enjoy the peanuts in the icecream though.
For the people with a sweet tooth
The flavour is good, but the caramel is a little on the sweet side. So perfect for someone with a sweet tooth. But I could do without the peanuts/nutty part, not exactly my cup of tea. The texture is ok & wonder if it would be different if made with regular dairy
