What's Wrong With My Cheese Nips?

I bought a box of Cheese Nips last week. Now I haven't had these since I was a very young kid. But the one thing I remember about them was how much cheese flavour they had. So as I bit in an start chewing my 1st Cheese Nip Cracker since my childhood, I knew instantly something was off.
I actually picked up the box to make sure I was eating Plain Cheese Nip Crackers. Because what I was tasting was a salty, cheddar cracker with a very over-powering Spicy taste as well. An wouldn't you know it, No where on the box does it say SPICY Cheese Nip Crackers.
I decided to Google my find an I see in these reviews there is a person who Also says that their crackers tasted SPICY as well.....Very Odd.!
Does anyone have any thoughts to this Mystery?

SPICY HOT CHEESE NIPS

I have been been eating these crackers for years now and the other day I bought a box at sobeys. I'm not sure what caused this issue but they burned my mouth. They still tasted good though.

Great in a snack mix

I have always used these in the snack mix I make every Christmas. That being said; ever since Mondalez took over Christie they have somehow changed. They are great if eaten in a handful of snack mix. However... not so great on their own, they leave a weird after taste in your mouth, a little chemical/preservative like taste.

BEST CHEESE CRACKERS EVER

These are by far some of the best cheese crackers i've ever had other than the swiss cheese ones of course! These have a real cheese flavor and are better than the cheese stick things, way better. These are my favorite midnight snack, something for on the go, at work, whatever. Salty and yummy

Very tasty!

I like to snack on flavourful crackers from time to time and Nips taste as good as they they did when I was a child. Full cheese flavour and very fresh and crispy! Too easy to eat.

Stale batch

Bought these crackers cause i usually love them this batch was stale and all stuck together , its to baf that that had to happen its like they were not dried properly

These cheese crackers are great party snacks because they are small and don't need toppings. The cheddar taste is robust and evenly salted. I just wish they could make the hot and spicy version that is made in the states.

I love cheese in general so these Christie Cheese Nips are one of my favorite snack. I purchase them often when I go grocery shopping. They are very tasty. A good mixture of cheese and salt.

These taste so good and have a great cheese taste. ALWAYS on sale or at a low cost at Wal-Mart!
