This touch screen from Churun is a very basic device, in a good way. It's a small, bare-bones touchscreen that can be used for any number of things, or built into any number of devices. The more you know about technology and computers, the more you can do with a device like this, making it very versatile if you have the know-how to take advantage of that.

The screen comes with a USB-to-microUSB cable, an HDMI cable, some screws and a DVD with instructions. To get started, you just need to plug in the two cables and you're done. You can connect this to any HDMI cable to use it as a screen, though obviously the screen is too small for some uses. The back of the device has small labels for the different controls and ports, which are helpful, but for a total beginner they would still be confusing, as it doesn't mention anywhere that the USB is needed to power the screen.

In fact the only real downside to this screen is that it's only as good as you are with technology. If you know a lot about computers, you can use this screen for a million different things. It's very open and easy to customize, and can be used for virtually anything. But if your knowledge of computers is limited, then you're going to struggle to make good use of this screen. So the device itself is good, if you know what you're doing, just don't expect to hand this to a total beginner.

I used it initially with my computer as an extra screen and it worked great, but there's a lot of DIY's out there on the internet about how to incorporate small touchscreens into cool DIY tables or heating controls, so I'm hoping eventually to take full advantage of this product, even though I'm a layman when it comes to building with electronics.
