I love it
This is such an amazing book. I couldn't put it down and was upset because I had to wait for the second one to be yet published. It's very enthralling and captivating.
In Love!
Definitely a series that is captivating! I have read the entire Mortal Instruments series and I have to say that each book was as riveting as the one before it. Each book had me captivated and hooked right from the first few pages. Solid storyline, great character composition, Cassandra Clare is a master author! I have puchased the Infernal Devices and The Dark Artifices series which I intend to dive into!
I LOVE THIS BOOK SO MUCH
This is the book that got me hooked on the Shadowhunters novels (The Mortal Instruments, The Infernal Devices, The Dark Artifices and so many more). It's a perfect blend of adventure, fantasy and a bit of romance.
When I came across this book at my friend's house I knew I had to read it. I really wanted to read it before I watched the movie (which I strongly disliked... So thank heavens I read the book first). The story did start out a little slow I must admit but the story still had me hooked! Cassandra Clare is one of the few authors who's book series I couldn't wait to get through. City Of Bones is a wonderful story filled with action, romance, mystery and of course magic. If you are into the whole idea of angels, demons and magical creatures this book is for you. I loved it and recommend it 100%!
After Harry Potter, I needed another series to get into. This was one of the few that interested me. The main character, Clary, was really annoying to me, it took me awhile to be ok with her. I enjoyed all the other characters much much more. It was a fun read, and I love urban fantasy and this was one of this reads that I just could not put down.
City of bones is a great first book to an amazing series! It is another one of those supernatural romance books but on a totally different level than twilight. This blow twilight right out of the water. It's has demons, werewolves, vampires and shadow hunters who fight them all to protect the world. It's action packed with a totally loveable set of characters. This series turned out to be right up there with Harry potter in my standards.
Was a good price, but for me, I just was not into the books series, I read the first book and could not get into the second one no matter how hard I tried. Then the movie came out and they done such a poor poor job with it, it kinda turned me from the series all together. My daughter who is 12 did however read them and enjoy them, more geared towards an audience of her age group rather then an adult.
This book series is incredible. Action to keep you entertained, twists to keep you guessing and dying to find out more, and the romance to get you absolutely hooked.
By far one of my favorite series, and let me tell you... that is saying something.
Hurt my brain I was reading and it took forever to get to the point. The information I was waiting for was in the last 30 pages. I could of read just those pages and I would of enjoy it. I was sitting outside at the park someone sat beside and asked what I was reading. I thanked him for taking me away from the book because it was hurting my brain. It was so bad basically *Spoiler sort of* boy finds girl she doesn't think she is special but really is. Very special the boy and girl have a moment. Her childhood friend who is in love with feels a little left out. At the end they find out they cant be together that what the book main plot but the stuff the had me reading was only 30 pages at the end. Only read it because I wanted to see the movie and read the book.
This book is the first in the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare. One of the greatest book series in a very long time, it is comparable to Harry Potter or Twilight!
From the website:
"When fifteen-year-old Clary Fray heads out to the Pandemonium Club in New York City, she hardly expects to witness a murder — much less a murder committed by three teenagers covered with strange tattoos and brandishing bizarre weapons. Clary knows she should call the police, but it's hard to explain a murder when the body disappears into thin air and the murderers are invisible to everyone but Clary.
Equally startled by her ability to see them, the murderers explain themselves as Shadowhunters: a secret tribe of warriors dedicated to ridding the earth of demons. Within twenty-four hours, Clary's mother disappears and Clary herself is almost killed by a grotesque demon.
But why would demons be interested in ordinary mundanes like Clary and her mother? And how did Clary suddenly get the Sight? The Shadowhunters would like to know..."
