Wasted My Money
I bought dark blonde, a shade lighter than I thought I would need after reading the reviews that it's always darker than pictured. I only wanted to add a bit of tint to the scattering of greys I've got as a mid 30s woman. It was STILL extremely dark. Not only that, but it also gave me ginger highlights - AND DIDN'T COVER MY GREYS?!?!!! I kept it in the full 20 minutes but there goes $12 down the drain. I only pray now that it truly does only last 28 washes.
Healthy & Fresh
Makes my hair look and feel healthy not to mention soft. I used this product to cover up my grey hair and after one week my hair looks just as dark as the day I dyed it. I would recommend using the conditioner as stated in the instructions as it helps keep the color in. There was no harsh smell and I found that there was enough dye to cover my hair which is long and thick. It was definitely easy to apply and I will continue to use this product – just make sure to have a rag close in case you have any spills.
It use to be a great product
This use to be a excellent product!! I used it for many years and had many compliments even from my own hairdresser until they changed the formula a year or so ago. It doesn’t even compare to the product it was!!! The previous product gave excellent coverage and super healthy shiny hair. I will never purchase again. This product is horrible!! Please bring back the old formula.
Love this hair dye!!
This is the only hair dye I use. I am very fortunate that I don’t have a lot of grey hair but this one is perfect for covering what I do have. I love that this dye is semi-permanent so I don’t have roots to deal with. This leaves my hair soft and shiny. Also, it doesn’t have a strong scent and it is quick to apply.
not sure how to review
I'm not sure how to review this since I've always loved Clairol Natural Instincts. I've used #4 dark brown for years and it was perfect but you'll notice clairol changed their boxes..at first I was like no biggie, just a new box but then colored my hair...it came out awful...very orange...clearly they changed the formula with the box. I've now been on the hunt for stores that have the old formula but I may just have to find something new. Gutted!!! Bring back the old formula!!!!
Meh...
So I’ve been googling natural ways to dye my hair. Years of box dyes has left my hair dry and brittle so I wanted to stay away from harsh chemicals. This hair dye happened to pop up on one of the lists and I found it on sale at my Rexall. I love the way it makes my hair feel. You can feel the oils in the conditioner when you start running it through your hair. (If they sell this seperate I would love to buy it!). Anyways, it has great colour BUT it does nothing for grey hair. If anything it’s made them stand out more now that the rest of my hair is darker 🤦♀️ So if you’re not looking to cover greys and want a natural-ish dye give this a try but avoid if you’re looking to cover the silver highlights 😉
Terrible, just terrible
I have been coloring my hair for years but never used a semi-permanent product before.
At first, didn’t notice any color changes in my hair, which was very disappointing. It also made my hair really dry.
After 1 week my hair became a little lighter, probably duo the product fading away, but still didn’t reach the shade I was hoping for. In the end, I did not get the color I wanted and had to expend money treating my hair for the dryness the Clairol Natural Instincts caused.
My overall experience with this product was bad and discouraging and I will not use it again.
Only Hair Color I Use
I love this hair color for in between my hairdresser appointments.
It doesn't damage your hair and takes almost 2 months before I have to re-apply.
My hair is actually softer after I color than it was before I applied my Natural Instincts.
Love this
I use this product all the time for those sneaky grey hairs that start to show every now and then. I really like the conditioner that it comes with and use it even after the colour treatment
Natural colour from a box
Used to go to the salon to have a non-permanent colour applied to my hair. Nothing drastic, just something to hide a few grey hairs and make me look fresh. Paying $100 every 6 weeks is stupid.
Never coloured my hair at home before, so I tried Natural Instincts, non-permanent colour, in medium brown. Lasts 28 shampoos, so really what could go wrong? Nothing!!! Within half an hour my grey was gone, hair was smooth and shiny, I am happy...Washed that grey right out of my hair for $10 tax included. Best part is if I want to try a shade of red...I do...when I do not like the shade, live with it for 6 weeks and repeat with a different colour.
Natural Instincts is my go-to salon, all done in the privacy of my home.
Try it, I am sure you will like it! I added a picture of the last colour used.
