I have never dyed my hair at home. I stopped dying my hair 12 yrs ago and foolishly got bored with my same old brown locks and wanted something drastic and darker. I used the dark colour with some violet / auburn in it. The application was easy. I had to wait longer then I would of liked (25 mins.... If I do this again I'm going for the 10 min application ) my ends feel brittle and are much darker then my roots. I'm sad that I did dye my hair bc I don't know how long it will take to fade out and if I will have to re- dye once it fades too much or grows out. All in all the dye did work and for the price it's great but it did not make my hair soft Now I will have to wait another 5 yrs till I have my natural brown hair and soft locks back.
I got this dye for free, which cost like almost 16$, I had a FPC (free product coupon) for it. Since I'm a natural brunette, and since I haven't dyed my hair in over 10 years, yup, you read that right, I thought, heck, why not. This dye comes with the regular applicator, and/or the option of using the comb part /type applicator for just root touch ups. I almost forgot, the dye is permanent also, the only kind that seems to stay in my hair longer than the other ones do. So, I dyed my hair using the bottle the traditional way, using the nozzle way. I tried using the comb way, too difficult. So, as a result, my hair turned out great, albeit I ended up missing some hair here and there, and putting too much colour near my roots. That's okay, as eventually it faded and the parts I missed almost look as though I put auburn streaks/highlights in my hair. I did get a few compliments. My hair is still coloured, I only recently did this 2 months ago. The only downfall I didn't like, is this particular brand comes in VERY limited colours/choices/shades. But, over the last 2 months, I've grown to ACTUALLY like it, lol.I normally opt for dark red auburn/s, but this was the only reddish colour they had. You can find this particular product at your local Shopper's Drug Mart. Overall, I'd certainly recommend this product.
It is SO difficult for me to color my hair from a box. I had dark roots and shade or two lighter all over the rest. I ended up trying to get the similar look to my ends, and turned my hair really dark brown on the ends, and strawberry blonde up at the roots. Not the best look I have ever gone for. I'll stick to the professionals.
I have been using Nice and Easy's Golden Blonde for years and thought I would switch to another brand just to mix things up a bit. WOW big mistake (HUGE) the others brand of Light Golden Blonde turned my hair Auburn - scary! So HUGE mistake switching brands - even when using Clairols Nice and Easy changing colours has always been great. So Clairol, I am coming back as soon as this disaster lets me!
Nice & Easy Root Touch-up is just what the name say’s it is, an at home hair dye just for your roots to save you from having to dye all of your hair just to cover your roots. As soon as you see those nasty roots showing up you can use this to cover them up and be done in just ten minutes. You can even use Nice & Easy root touch-up on salon coloured hair. It’s a permanent dye that blends in beautifully with any shade you may have dyed your hair. They have several shades to choose from so you shouldn’t have trouble finding one to match your hair. They say it will last you up to three weeks extending the life of your dye job and giving you 100% gray coverage. I imagine this will all depend on just how fast your hair grows, it may last longer for some and a shorter amount of time for others. This root touch-up system comes with a little tray to blend the color mixture together in, a brush that you have to dip into the color mixture and then apply it to your roots and of course gloves to protect your hands. I found the smell of the dye mixture to be really strong and didn’t like this at all. The tray that you mix the dye in is also kind of small and very unstable. So you really have to be careful not to tip it over each time you dip the brush into it. At first I thought the brush would make it easier to apply the dye, but I found this wasn’t the case for me at all. I like the L’Oreal root touch up system 100% better then this one for those reasons. Other wise the Nice & Easy Root Touch-up system does work, but I won’t be buying it again because I found it to be more of a hassle and not worth it when there’s better products on the market that do just as good a job, but that are a lot easier to use.
Cheap and convenient, but not only did it dye my hair it dyed my scalp as well. I would rather spend more and not have it look as if I'm wearing a wig...
Clairol Nice'n Easy color is a great product, I use this all the time. I am scared to change my brand to often, the last time I did, I ended up with hair that was so black it was near purple. That was not the best day in my hair dying experiences. I find this product relativity easy on my course hair, and the conditioner that comes with it works great. Clairol Nice'n Easy is widely available at a very reasonable price. What more can a chick ask for. Cheap, easy with great results. I have never been able to afford expensive trips to the salon to get my hair done. I love Clairol Nice'n Easy products, and will continue to use this product.
My hair naturally is almost black, very thick, and very coarse. It is really hard to dye. However, I used Born Blonde as was able to get my hair the blonde I wanted with 1 application (Plus toner). However, because of the thickness and length, I did have to use 2 boxes- which is normal for my hair. Well worth the 10 dollars I spent on each box!
Clairol Nice'n easy works great. I have been dyeing my hair since I was 15 (now 26) and I have found this one lasts the longest between dyeing. The colors are great and it's easy and not too messy (It does take a couple of times before you find a technique that works for you) Would deffinatly recommend this product to friends and famliy!!!
I finally found a hair dye that can cover all of my gray hair. I’ve tried a few different brands since last summer when I first dyed my hair for a ChickAdvisor review that I was chosen to do and when I say first I mean first time every. I had never dyed my hair before this review came up and the ladies picked me to do it for them. Any how that’s a different story. I decided to go with Nice&Easy;this time because my mom and a few of my friends have been telling me that it was the only brand that they’ve found that would cover their gray completely. That’s been my biggest problem since I started dying my hair. Well being the fool that I am I bought the wrong color, again!! I have natural red highs in my hair and just about ever time I’ve dyed it my hair has turned out red. I discovered that if the dye doesn’t have ash in the name, then no matter what color I pick the red will come out like crazy. Now I have no problems with red heads, I have a few in my family, so please don’t come down on me about that. I just don’t like red hair on myself. The first shade of brown that I used didn’t have any ash in it and I have to use two boxes of dye to cover my long hair, so it was on the top way longer then it was suppose to be. As soon as I took the towel off of my wet head I knew I had screwed up again, but ounce my red hair was dried, all of my gray was gone. So about a week later and after having a talk with a girl at the drug store, I dyed my hair again with Nice&Easy;’s natural light ash brown, but I only used one box to try and cover most of the red on the top and just run the new brown color down through the length. My hair now looks like it did years ago with the natural brown and a few red lights flowing through and there’s not a gray in sight. It very easy to use and to mix up, it has very little smell to it when you are breathing out of your nose, how ever I noticed that if you took a deep enough breath with your mouth, the fumes really hit the back of your throat. The gloves are the best I’ve seen with hair dye. They are nice a thick, almost like hospital gloves and the stay on nicely. They give you a nice size tube of deep conditioner to use ounce a week to keep your hair soft and shinny. It works very well and makes my hair so soft that I’ve found myself even playing with it like a little girl would do.LOL I’d definitely recommend Nice&Easy;hair dye to anyone that wants to color their hair no matter if it's the first time they’ve ever dyed their hair, or the hundredth time. Nice&Easy;is a great product for covering those hard to cover grays we sometimes get.
