My ride or die face gel

this is my new holy grail, it's become such a part of my skincare routine in the AM & PM that i'm squeezing out every last drop. I have purchased and will purchase again.

Feels great on my skin

This is my first time using a Clarins product and i can totally see why this company is so popular. I used this cooling gel after using a self-heating mask by Biore just because if felt suiting. I love how a little bit goes such a long way and glided on my face perfectly. It didn't leave my face over-hydrated nor did it leave my face feeling overly matted as if i never put it on in the first place. I'm very excited to add this gel into my morning and night time skin routine.

Refreshing, cooling moisturizer!

This is one of the many different moisturizers in my rotating collection. This is one of the most pricey items that I use but after receiving a sample of it I HAD to buy a jar. It's a translucent cool blue color gel with a scent that is a bit on the strong side. It is a fresh clean scent that I like, but I would prefer it to be a softer scent. I use it right after my shower when my face is hot and feels tight and dry - the feeling of this moisturizer on my skin at that moment is soooo good. It's just very cooling and soothing, super refreshing. Only a small amount is needed, so while it is a small tub it will last you quite a while. I have had my tub for over a year and it's still 50% full. I use it 1 to 2 times a week. It applies evenly and is absorbed quickly, leaving my face soft and smooth and not at all greasy or sticky.

not suited for drier skin types

The Hydra Essentiel Cooling gel is a non-greasy cream with a gel consistency. Living in Alberta where it's dry for most of the year, especially for this combination-leaning-dry-in-the-winter, I usually need that thick, rich, emollient moisturizer in the winter for my skin to stay moisturized. Im not sure that this will be enough for that dead of winter dryness, but for the mild temperatures so far, this cream works! The gel moisturizer has a slight cooling effect when first applied and I really liked that this moisturizer isn't heavily fragranced. This moisturizer probably would work the best for those living in less dry climates or oilier skin types! Please note I received this moisturizer for testing purposes.

A great hydrating cooling gel

I received a sample of Clarins Hydra-Essential Cooling Gel for free in exchange for my honest review.

I used this gel after removing my makeup and using my usual cleanser. It immediately soothed my skin, making it feel cooler and refreshed.

There was a definite difference in the redness on my face and my skin felt softer and more hydrated. The texture is like hair gel on the fingers, but it soaks in quickly and does not feel sticky.

It had a pleasant fresh scent and did not irritate my sensitive skin.

Matte Magic!

This stuff is great! I feel that it does exactly as advertised and it's a fair price, hence the 5 stars. I love the simple packaging. It has a very light scent of what I can only describe as fresh, which dissipates in minutes. I have combination, on the oilier side, skin and my favourite use for it is definitely under my make-up to keep me moisturized enough and shine-free. It's only sufficient for daily winter use if I keep my skin hydrated with other products and it's not enough for overnight but I think it will make such a perfect summer moisturizer!
