Patchy Colour, Uneven Coverage
I'm a huge fan of Clarins and their lip products, but sadly this one missed the mark for me. I couldn't find a colour in their range that didn't look artificial, and when I applied it, it was patchy and left uneven colour, with more colour concentrated on the edge of my lips. The bonus is the scent is nice and it feels good when it's applied. It may work well for others, but unfortunately it didn't for me!
Expensive sticky goop
I got this as a sample from Sephora. Thank god I did because I would never buy it. One: the price, $25?! Two: Sticky as h-e-double hockey sticks. Three: Doesn't make a lick of difference to the feel of my lips. Try NYX #thisiseverything lip oils. Much better for a quarter of the price.
So I totally bought into the limited edition hype for the raspberry version of this "lip oil", which is really just a sticky lip gloss with the same raspberry flavour as my lip gloss. I got it in that same haul from The Bay as it was a limited edition alternative to the permanent honey flavour. I can't say that I'll repurchase it, but it has a very fun jumbo applicator that almost feels like jelly on the lips. The formula is thick, and can get really gloopy. Beware of the dreaded hair-sticking-to-lips situation.
