Stains that last

Clarins Water Lip Stain was part of my goody bag at the ChickAdvisor Cinq a Sept Event in Toronto at the Bisha Hotel. We were able to sample at the event and we had the opportunity to choose between two colours in an email. I chose the Rose Water - water lip stain and like many I found the applicator a bit complicated so I used a different brush I had on hand. The colour lasts a long time, stays in place and I apply a gloss on top to keep lips moist. I would recommend and I feel this product can go a long way so the cost which seems high isn't that much in the end if you like and use it up.

It's ok, but pricey.

I received the Rose Lip Stain as part of a promotion for my honest review. I had picked this colour thinking that it would be a little more mauve and less bright pink. Well, it turned out to be still too much bright pink for me.

The stain is effective. It's very slippery when you first put it on, so be careful if you are the type to rub your lips together after applying a lippie.

As for the price point, I believe that it's too high for the amount of product in the tube.

This is such a unique product, can't believe I've never heard of or seen it before! I like this kind of product when I want to look a bit casual and don't want to worry about touching up my makeup. Often times lip stains can be a bit drying, but this is not at all. It leaves a natural looking, long lasting color on your lips without feeling like you have anything on your lips.

Lasting colour

I received this lip stain colour in Rosewater. It’s a bright pink but still somewhat soft.

I really liked how long the colour lasted, a good part of the day with lots of drinking from a straw and eating. It did take me a few uses to find out exactly how much of a lip stain to put on. It is quite wet when applied and at first I was applying it was a little uneven but then I realized once it was dry it looked fine so I stopped worrying so much about the amount that I was putting on.

The only downside I find is the brush application. I found that it needed a really steady hand and paying lots of attention because if you went off the lip it would stain in your face.

Overall this is definitely a product I would get again and would be happy to try some other colours as well maybe something in a red next time.

Nice Lip Product

Cute packaging, great quality, amazing color options and long lasting. The brush didn't really work for me. I found it hard to apply. The color I received was violet and it's stunning. Price is reasonable. Worth checking out!

Great Lip Stain!

I received this product in my gift bag at a recent Chick Advisor event. I received the shade “rose water”. It’s my first time using a lip stain and I just loved it. It’s not overly drying and has great staying power. They have a great selection of shades. I gave it 4 stars because I really didn’t like the brush. I found it quite difficult to apply precisely. Overall, great product and I would definitely recommend it.

Good staying power with no drying!

My biggest issues in the past with lips stains, sticks or lip products in general is drying! My lips are always chapped after using most lip products. So I was very excited that my this Clarins Lip stain did not dry out my lips!

I love that you can layer it for customizable colour. I found the colour lasted about half a day, so not too bad. It did not transfer onto cups or rub off. Before it dries, it has a pleasant sweet "taste" when you apply it.

Overall I'm impressed and will probably purchase this again. Probably in a different shade. I have the "Rose water" shade and it is a tad too pink for me.

Cool Colour to Lips

I am more of a lip balm/gloss type of girl since I don't like the feeling of thick lipstick on my lips. This lip stain was a great alternative since it was super light weight and still gave me a free feeling on my lips. I got the rose colour, which was a very cute. Would definitely buy it in other colours. It also had a nice aroma.

Not a fan

I'm not someone who wears lipstick or lipgloss to begin with but I gave this product a shot. The colour darkened for quite a while and the product was difficult to get off. For a person looking for a lip stain that sticks and doesn't come off this would be a great product to use! I personally didn't like the item for myself. The quality is great and the long last effects would probably appeal to most people. I would recommend this product for those who want a long lasting natural lip stain.

Not a bad Lip Stain

I wear lip stains quite often so I was happy to try this one from Clarins. I have the shade orange water and I love the little touch of colour it adds to my lips. It's not super hydrating so I recommend applying a little balm beforehand. If you're just looking for a little colour to enhance your lip colour I would recommend this.
