I am in LOVE with this gorgeous lip stain!

I am seriously in LOVE with this product. I don't think I have tried anything from Clarins before but considering how great this is, I am going to have to investigate their full line of products. I am going to quote from the promotional material here because it says it all:

"A formula rich in active plant ingredients and an ultra-sensory lip tint delivers customizable and long-wearing colour, for a kiss-proof matte finish and a barely-there feel"

Cue 100 emoji. Seriously. Everything it says there is 100% accurate. It certainly is "ultra-sensory" - it smells and tastes like a jolly rancher. It is customizable in the sense that you can layer the product to create a richer deeper colour (more on this in a moment). It is long wearing, no doubt about this (again more on this later) and finally, barely there is an understatement. I have never - EVER - worn a lip product that I forgot I was wearing. This lip stain truly feels like having NOTHING on your lips. Even if the rest of the claims weren't true (which I assure you, they are), it would be worth it for me just based on this.

The texture of the lip stain is just slightly thicker than water. The one and only thing I don't love about it is the brush. It is like a nail polish bottle with a nail polish brush and I found this a little bit tricky for application. It is slightly forgiving in that if you go "out of the lines" you can quickly wipe it away before it dries (or I used a micellar water on a q-tip after it dried) but I would rather have a brush that allows for more precision so I don't have to worry about this in the first place.

One coat gives you the kind of look that feels like perfectly blotted lipstick, but it stays looking like that for hours. The colour I got is "Violet Water" and it is a great berry colour on my olive/neutral skin tone. Think grape popsicle here. With more than one coat you can build the colour up so that it looks like a deeper, richer, more opaque stain while still being matte.

If you have ever tried LipSense products you will have a feel for what I mean here. I found that if you allowed each layer to dry before applying the next, the colour payoff lasted longer. Also, the first time I applied it I did so to only my bottom lip and pressed my lips together. This worked and gave me a nice mild tint, but I found that when I applied a layer to each lip separately and allowed it to dry before pressing my lips together, again the colour payoff lasted longer.

I wanted to see how long the product would last without having to reapply and my best estimate is around four hours. I found that eating does diminish the colour ever so slightly (especially greasy foods) and talking a lot does as well. I applied lip balm and gloss over it a couple of times and was pleasantly surprised to find that this actually extended the wear instead of breaking the colour down.

I am over the moon about this product and not only want to repurchase it but want to look for the other colours as well. I would absolutely recommend it to a friend. Any lip colour lover will love this product!

Pucker Up!

I received the Clarins Water Stain in Rose. Right from the start, I was thinking this was definitely due to the influence of Korean Makeup trends of the slightly bite lip look.

The lip stain is definitely a little more concentrated, so use it sparingly. The taste of the lip stain (because who isn't going to lick their lips?) it actually a pleasing taste!

I should've gotten the Red lip stain because I am more of a Red Lip girl than Rose, but it is a nice pink for those who like rosy lips. It does not leave a mark if you do any up touching anything with your lips, which makes it a pretty good stain.

Long lasting

Now here's the thing, I'm not usually a fan of lip stains as they don't end up looking great on me. However, I really enjoyed this one. As long as you have the patience to apply it, it looks quite nice. A little definitely goes a long way. No major scent and it is not flavoured. I used my ring finger to blend out the product some more. Be aware as it's a stain, it naturally stains your finger tips. It's so incredibly light weight. But because it's water based, I did find my lips felt a little dry and pulled later on.
Ultimately, it hasn't really changed my mine about lip stains, I'm just a lipstick kind of gal. But for those who like long wearing lip stains, definitely worth a try.

Lasting stain

Super light weight lip stain. I have the Rose shade which is nice pink colour, it’s not overly bright which is exactly what I was looking for. It lasts a long time, needs minimal touch ups! Its wears best when your lips aren’t dry. Perfect for someone who isn’t fussy about makeup and wants to keeps things simple. I own several Korean Lip tints and I love this!

Beautiful lips

Easy to apply this lip stain strays on all day long which is amazing and you don't have to worry, you can eat, drink and even steal a kiss☺ from your special someone and it still on no worries, it has a pleasant and sweet taste when applying definitely in love with it.

Great stain for any season

Love it!

This is probably my favouite product I received at the Cinq a Sept event. I'm a girl who loves lipstick, but is terrible at reapplying. I'm also a girl that loves to eat and therefore, needs to reapply often.
This stain lasted all day, through coffee and breakfast. It only needed to be touched up after a slightly oily lunch (grilled cheese).
I'll be picking up more colours of this one.

Great lip stain

The Clarins ready lip stain is a good product. I don’t often wear lip stains but when I do I look for one that can last throughout the day. I had sipped on coffee throughout the day and the lip stain stayed put. The colour was a bit light for my skin tone but i experimented anyway and it did not smudge. I’d recommend this product but I would probably purchase a different tint.

Love Love Love

I love this lip stain! It provides great colour pigment while also being lightweight on the lips! Seriously, it feels like you have nothing on while wearing it. I also find this product easy to remove at the end of the day.

Comfortable and easy

This lip stain is pretty moisturizing compared to other stains I have tried in the past and the color and long wear is amazing!
Light comfort oil makes your lips hydrated all day! My favorite for sure!
