In winter I have dry skin, and summer time it's normal to dry. I bought the clarisonic thinking it will do a better job at exfoliating away and buffing out the rough dry patches, as well as removing my makeup. It did. But so does a regular cleanser / exfoliator. I've tested my regular exfoliator and clarisonic together and separately many times. I use Aveeno scrub, and that applied with my hands works just as well on my face as the clarisonic. I didn't notice any difference at all to justify the hefty price tag. I tested both for at least a month before giving up on the clarisonic.
I've read a ton of reviews before deciding to shell out the moolah for this baby, so I do know it works for some, but it just didn't work for me. I think this thing works best for those with acne prone oily skin.
I would recommend buying this product from Sephora. It might cost a bit more than getting it off amazon, but at least you can return it if it doesn't suit you when you buy from Sephora.
By now you've probably heard of the CLARISONIC brush? If not, you've been living under a rock. I love my Clarisonic. Apparently, I’m not the only one. These bad boys are selling like hot cakes everywhere you look! It comes with facial cleansers and lotions. The cleanser is gentle for my sensitive skin. There's even several brush heads, one is for regular skin and one is for sensitive skin. It's very easy to use. Just plug it into the charger and it lasts for months. I haven't recharged it in its dock since January. I like that it's portable. I can just pack it in my luggage or gym bag. I use it in the shower, it's like second nature to bring it into the shower with me. It sloughs off dead skin cells and allows new ones to grow and emerge. My brother recently got one because he's got major acne issues. He loves his, he brings his to work and stores it in his desk cabinet.
I finally got it! I got this for Cristmas from my bf, and I got the MIA, which is perfect. I have compared the different clarisonics, and the MIA sounded the best to me, one speed, compact, great for travel. I found the plus or classic are not worth it, the second speed is actually a low one vs the original, and it is chunkier.
so all in all, I love this device. I am always paranoid about properly cleansing my skin at night. I wear make up every day.... but I want to make sure I remove it at night, and that can be tough. I use olive or grapeseed oil to remove my make up, my foundation, eyeliner, mascara (like removes like principle)... then I follow with a cleanser, and every now and then exfoliate or use masks to get that clean feeling.
With Clarisonic is so much easier, so much faster. It's effective yet gentle on the skin. I don't care for their cleansers, I use mine, and it works great.
I am only 22, so I don't have any heavy lines and wrinkles, nor do I have crazy pores, so i cannot comment on the so called minimizing effects the Clarisonic might have on those, however my skin does feel smoother and I am very pleased with it.
This product is amazing! It does everything it claims to do:
* Removes 6x more makeup than manual cleansing
* Leaves skin feeling and looking smoother
* Cleanses so well that products absorb better
* Gentle enough for twice daily use
*Helps reduce oily areas, dry skin patches & blemishes
* Helps reduce the appearance of visible pores
It's a little pricey but worth every penny. You thought your skin was clean until you cleaned it with a Clarisonic. I cleaned my skin they way I normally would with my make up remover followed by my cleanser and of course I thought my skin was clean. Just to test it out I went over my skin again with my cleanser and the Clarisonic and there was so much more dirt and makeup. My skin and pores have never been cleaner and less visible. This is definitely a product I can't live without and that I recommend to everyone (male & female).
I purchased the clarisonic mia. It is a bit smaller and has one speed. It is fabulous for removing make up and gets my face cleaner than any washcloth can..well worth the money..plus any fine lines I had are gone
After hearing YouTubers and Bloggers rave about the Clairsonic, I entered a contest to win one. Skin care is important, but $149.00 is a bit steep for someone cheap like me. (No, not cheap like yo momma. Cheap as in, I refuse to spend a lot. Ha!) I lost the contest, but my awesome in-laws kindly surprised me with one on Christmas Eve. I was so excited!
As soon as my adorable husband and I got home that night, I brushed my teeth and got ready to "brush my face". LOL! Initially, I wasn't that impressed. I didn't think the Clairsonic got my face any more clean than traditional washing did, and hated how it felt when used on my nose. The vibrations from the brush tickled and made me feel like I had to sneeze.
But now? I love it! I still dislike how it feels on my nose, but I'm getting used to it. I use the Clairsonic every night with my Proactiv cleanser and have been very pleased with my results. (The Clairsonic wash that comes with the brush is nice, but nothing to write home about.)
Just the other day, my husband complimented me on my "glowing skin". Pictured above is my five-head sans lotion and make-up!
I definitely recommend this product. Unfortunately, as I stated before, it's expensive. If I hadn't received the Clairsonic as a gift, I highly doubt I would have picked one up on my own. My buddy, Nee, made a video that shows you how to exfoliate without breaking the bank. Her trick is a great alternative and definitely worth checking out! (Here is the link to her tutorial: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sVf1tZrqfok)
Happy exfoliating! :)
A friend of mine recommended the Clarisonic. She is 37 and I am 47 and I was amazed at the immediate difference in the feel of my skin. I was afraid I might be past the age window on this one. I loved it so much I bought my 67 year old Mom one for her Bday and she feels the difference and loves it too, We don't even use the expensive face cleansers any more - basic products like Cetaphyll do the trick with this tool. I was not sure about the price so I bought the Clarisonic Mia - the travel size for $119 with shipping and tax and have more than gotten my money's worth. My friend got the Classic for more but said she really only uses the speed that comes on the Mia anyway. Hers had more speeds. Highly recommend it!
AFTER FOUR DAYS OF USE I NOTICED A DIFFERENCE IN MY SKIN!!! Sorry for shouting, but it's true!!!
I purchased the Clarisonic Pro about 2 weeks ago on ebay. I've been using it once a day for a little over a week and I'm super glad I spent the money on it. I hummed and hahhed a great deal over the idea of spending $200 on a motorized brush. Both my mother and boyfriend said it was a waste of money and I should just invest in high quality products instead. However, there were so many wickedly positive reviews for this little device that I had to buy it and try it for myself.
I've been using Clinique's face wash and moisturizing lotion with it; occasionally using Nivea Creme as a night cream. My face definitely looks brighter, the skin feels so soft (SO SOFT!!), and the blackheads I use to see around my nose and cheeks are fading!!
Dry flakey skin is also a problem of the past. I had a problem with flakes of skin appearing on my forehead, chin, cheeks, and nose especially in the Winter months. It was terrible! I'd put makeup on and the flakes were even more noticeable!! It hurt my confidence a bit, but with the Clarisonic, I no longer have this problem!! (Truth: In the past I used tape to try and remove the flakey skin. It rarely worked and was ultimately a waste of time & tape.)
I always thought harsh and gritty textures rubbing my skin raw would make my skin clean. WRONG!! I will never use gritty products again. All it did was make my skin dry and my pockets empty while trying to find the Holy Grail of exfoliators. The Clarisonic is the best. I was expecting the brush to be hard and feel rough against my face when it started to spin, but it was a very soft and light sensation. This device will definitely be part of my everyday cleaning routine for a long time to come.
Ask mom/dad/boyfriend/girlfriend/any friend to get this for you for Christmas. I highly recommend it.
I LOVE the Clarisonic! It was on my to-buy list after all the amazing Oprah and magazine reviews.
I've now been using mine for a year and still recommend it. It won't cure your skin, but it'll definitely improve it. I have combo skin that's prone to breakouts in the T-zone. The Clarisonic helps with that, I think likely because of the manual exfoliation that's gentle but not irritating. I've used it with a variety of my favorite cleansers and it leaves my skin feeling very soft and clean, but not tight. Removes foundation well.
It has been reliable and a single charge lasts for a couple of weeks for me on the 2 minute setting. I use it about once a day now; I was initially using it twice a day.
The cost is high, but I think it's a great investment. I don't pay for facials and my skin is much clearer than it was a year ago. Plus if you get the pink one, it's so darn cute and part of the proceeds support breast cancer research :)
This product is absolutely amazing. I've been using this for about 2 and a half years and i cannot live without it. It does such a good job at making my face clean and eliminates possible breakouts (not all, but better than nothing). I go to university at waterloo and i head back to toronto often, but each week, i'll haul my clarisonic back and forth...that's how much i love it !!!! I pair this with philosophy's purity made simple. I just usually move from spot to spot in a circular motion till i finished the whole face. I don't really care for the beeper timer thing because i don't really go by that. The price is a bit steep but i think it's totally justifiable. I've had it for a long time now and it's still working great. The replacement head sells for around 25$ and it's not bad for every 3 months. The only bad thing about this is that it doesn't really come with a travel protective case so it's a bit hard and bulky to travel. Another con is the battery life. I think the battery life is getting worse and worse. But i just keep it in the cradle all the time so it's not a problem. Overall, i definitely recommend this product. I know there are cheaper alternatives and i can't speak for those since i've never tried them. But if you've got a little money to shell, or it's a special occasion and you want to spoil yourself, try this!
