I highly recommend that you skip this sauce if you don't drink. It has a very strong red wine smell and you can definitely taste it as well. As I don't drink, the sauce made me feel quite sick. Regarding the texture, it was extremely runny.

My family just love this sauce. I use it as is or as a base for a more complex spaghetti sauce or as a pizza sauce. It's always delicious. The wine taste is not overpowering and it has a nice sweetness. Not all the supermaket carry this variety but when I find it I stock up. Add a few mushrooms, italian sausage and parmesan serve over your favorite pasta and Magnifico...

tried this sauce with penne and homemade meatballs nothing added but a touch of parmesean cheese for garnish....served it to company with garlic bread and ceasar salad and red wine......big hit!!!!!!
