Although this is a good price for an acne solution, it doesn't really do the trick. I found my skin had no change, even after using this product for over a month.
There are much less expensive acne cleaning sets that would do just as good or better of a job. Was not gentle enough for my combination skin. After using it continuously for a year it did not clear up my acne and I still broke out approximately two+ times a month.
Personally this product did partially work for me, it never completely cleared my acne but it did help a lot. The first four months my skin was way more clear than it was before using this treatment and I was so happy that something finally worked. But then I guess it just wasn'st really as effective. My acne never came back as bad as when I started using the treatment but it did get worse after those four months.
This product works well but it left my skin very dry. Also, if I stopped using it for a couple of days, I would break out.
I usually love anything about Clinique. But this product didn't do his job. Acne still a problem. had to try other brand.
I didn't like the foam cleanser, it ran out too fast. I only liked the toner that came with it but the acne moisturizer that came with it was probably the only effective thing. Will probably purchase the moisturizer separately.
This is yet another of the many acne products I've tried. If you have sensitive skin I would not recommend this product, despite the claim that it's for all skin types. I would say I had moderate acne and this system made my skin look really great for about the first week or two. Afterwards it was just dry, red, tight, and itchy and the pimples were large and painful.
The clearing treatment (3rd step), which they claim is also a light moisturizer, contains 2.5% benzoyl peroxide and is in no way moisturizing at all. I believe this was the root of the problems I was experiencing. Even using a normal moisturizer after this step did nothing to fix the issues in my case. This product also ran out well before the other two. Luckily you can buy each product separately.
The cleanser (1st step) is a foaming cleanser. It was not the greatest at removing all my makeup (I usually had to use it twice), but it did make my skin feel fresh and clean. This was probably the only product in the set that I didn't mind, but I still would not repurchase it.
The toner (2nd step) was also pretty drying, but not nearly as bad as the clearing treatment.
The one product in this line that I did continue to repurchase for awhile (I've since found something I like better) was the emergency gel. It doesn't come in the actual set, but it's a spot treatment with 5% benzoyl peroxide. This oddly enough did not dry my skin out.
Overall, not a good product for people with sensitive skin, but might work well for someone who is not so sensitive. I would also recommend using a separate moisturizer after the three steps to anyone who is not extremely oily.
I decided to try this product because I liked the regular Clinique 3-Step system but I wanted a product that would focus a bit more on my occasional breakouts and redness. Overall I like the classic 3-step system better because this one did not do exactly what I wanted it to. I did not like the cleansing foam at all because although it was gentle on my sensitive skin I did not feel like it really cleaned my skin deeply. There was still make-up left behind which irritated me, because I do not want to add an additional make-up remover to my routine. The cleansing lotion is great because I feel like it is actually doing its job and it removes the make-up left behind by the cleanser. Lastly, the lotion is incredibly strong and harsh, which I did not like. I do like the spot treatment but it contains salicylic acid as opposed to the benzoyl peroxide which my Clean & Clear spot treatment contains, and I find that product to be much more effective.
Overall I do not think I will repurchase any of the products in this system. I like many of the benefits of Clinique skin care products but none of them are exactly what I am looking for. The regular cleanser does nothing for my mild acne, while the acne products are too strong for my sensitive skin. I would recommend this product to someone with moderate acne because it was certainly effective but I think it is too strong for someone with mild acne such as myself.
