I was unbelievably grateful to be selected to try the Clinique Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brush from ChickAdvisor.
This is my very first time ever trying a product like this. My skin type is combo, with a tendency towards breakouts each month, so I knew this product would either work really well or not at all for me.
The first few days I used this, I followed the directions and only used it once a day to get accustomed to the new cleaning routine. After a week I started using it 2x a day as I was experiencing significant improvement.
The major thing I was hoping for happened: My skin breakout cleared up and my skin felt cleaner, more even and held moisturizer much better. But another unexpected benefit was the teeny tiny bumps I've had FOR YEARS along my hairline/forehead were going away! After 2 weeks of using the product, they've completely vanished! My entire face is now bump/pimple/spot/acne free!! I strongly recommend investing in this product as it really does work.
I received the Clinique Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brush free as a member of the Chick Advisor Product Review Club.
I've never used a brush like this for cleaning my face. Years and years ago I used a manual facial brush to wash my face, but I haven't used that in over 10 years. I was a little worried that the Clinique Sonic System would be harsh on my skin as my skin is sometimes a bit sensitive. When I took the brush out of the package, I was surprised at how incredibly soft the bristles were. I put it on the charger for a full 24 hours before the first use, as per the instructions. While charging, there was an orange light that flashed very infrequently to indicate that it was still charging. Once charged, the light turned solid green. Since putting it on the charger (2 weeks ago), I haven't needed to charge it again.
The instructions said to start with a 30 second cleansing once a day at first and to build up to using it for a full minute twice a day. Maybe it was because it was my first time using a brush system like this, but there was no way I could wash my whole face in just 30 seconds the first few times. I found I was taking at least a full minute to get the brush around my whole face. This was especially true when I was using it in the evenings to remove my makeup. I started using it twice a day after 3 or 4 days, and found I was able to get more efficient with it and get my whole face clean in 45 seconds to 1 minute. Despite needing to use it for more than the recommended time for new users, I didn't find that it irritated my skin. The green angled tip was great for my forehead, nose, and chin. I also used the green angled tip on any rough patches of my skin (along the jaw line for me). I was really impressed at how clean my skin felt after using the Clinique Sonic System. It removed my make up really well, and once I started using it in the mornings too, it was great for prepping my skin for the serum and moisturizer that I use.
For a facial cleanser, I just use a bar of Baby Dove Sensitive so I wasn't able to just easily squeeze cleanser onto the brush. I found that I could rub the bar of Dove onto the wet brush head until it was foamy, and that worked really well.
After using this brush twice a day for a couple of weeks, my skin feels softer and looks cleaner. I found that at first it was pulling up a lot of impurities from my skin (gross but awesome), and once those impurities had made their way to the surface, the overall condition of my skin improved. I felt like my night gel, serum, and moisturizer absorbed better after cleansing my face with the Clinique Sonic System.
I loved that I didn't have to charge it every day, and that I could take it into the shower with me. It's so convenient to be able to wash my face in the shower rather than having to take the time to do this at the sink. The only thing I would like it to have is a spare brush head (a second one). For $95 I think it should include two brush heads instead of just one, especially since new brush heads cost $26 US (and are not currently available for purchase online on Clinique's Canadian website).
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this product to a friend.
I was lucky enough to be selected to receive this product at no charge to review from Chick Advisor's product review club!
This made my face feel amazing . This is the first time I have ever used a cleansing brush and I found it cleaned my face way better then just using my hands.
I had no issues with sensitive skin.
Oh MY GOODNESS-I can't say enough good things about this product. I go through my 'phases' with Clinique-sometimes I'm all over them and other times I'm all 'Meh-whatever.' This brush has given me a reason to go back. I haven't had enough experience with a Clarisonic to compare so I won't go that far BUT I will dare to say this is the cleanest my skin has ever felt.
I used this product along with my Vichy Normaderm cleanser. I contemplated going out and getting the Clinique cleanser but I love my Vichy Normaderm. I have oily skin and wear BB cream/face makeup daily so at night it's important for me to get that makeup off my face. This brush isn't harsh, the bristles are soft and vibrate quickly. There is a timer on the brush and it shuts itself off. I usually go through 2 cycles with it. The brush isn't heavy, is comfortable in my hand. It took a bit to charge after getting it out of the box but I can use it for about 3 days before I think about recharging it.
I only use this brush at night-as I feel that's when I need a more 'thorough' clean. In the morning, I rinse my face with water -that's the extent of the a.m. cleanse, then add moisturizer/sunscreen. Good times.
Would I purchase this brush? Absolutely-especially if you really want to ensure your face is clean!
I was so happy I was one of the lucky ones who got chosen to review this Cleansing Brush System. I loved how easy it is to use the brush. It works on a charge, so no annoying long-cord. I loved using it in the shower to exfoliate my skin. I has a nice light vibrating motion which is perfect for my sensitive skin. This brush doesn't do any deep cleansing or exfoliating, but that's exactly what I like best about it. I hate the harsh cleansing brushes out there, that leave your skin red and irritated. I would definitely recommend this brush system to a friend!

This is the first time I have ever used a device to clean my face. Generally, I use a clay bar (Umbrian Clay from Fresh) once in awhile to exfoliate. The past 2 weeks, I've been using this product with my cleanser.
I use Clinque's 3 step system sometimes, I also use other products, such as Shiseido or Lancome's facial product line. I like to rotate products regularly. When I first received this brush, I tried to use it for 60 seconds each them, at first it felt nice on the face, but after 60 seconds, my face felt a bit raw. After a few days, my face broke out in several places (and I rarely get breakouts), my face did start to produce more oils then usual. I was a bit worried.
I decided to take it back down to a 30 second run...and made sure to apply it very lightly on my face and continued using it.
After about 2 weeks of use, the breakouts did reduce and my face feels a lot softer, with no dry patches. My nose especially has no dry flaky skin around the nose area (as the tip of the brush does do it's job). Generally, my face feels more supple, and slightly brighter.
I like it and will continue using it. I only wash my face at night (and not in the morning), so I do like to make sure my skin is very well cleansed at night. I think the this cleansing brush makes my skin cleaner, as I noticed that the toner pad I use after cleansing doesn't pick up as much left over makeup dirt, and my skin absorbs my nightly moisturizer more.
The battery charge does last for a very long time, the size is a tad large, but still manageable for travel, the travel cap is VERY useful so that the soft brush doesn't get compacted in a makeup bag.
I would highly recommend this product, the price point is much lower then Clarisonic (but I have never tried this product).
If you have super sensitive skin, I would recommend cleansing your face only at night and not in the morning, and if you find this brush too harsh for your skin, reduce the use to only 30 seconds a night, or use it every other night or maybe once a week.
It's great to get to try a product that is now a staple in my nightly facial cleansing routine. :-)
Thanks ChickAdvisor for the opportunity.
I was very excited to be picked to review this product! I loved how well it was able to deep clean. My face felt very clean after I used this brush! This works better than just using a normal face cloth. I have been raving about this product to all my family and friends!
I was extremely happy to be chosen to review the Clinique Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brush at no charge. It was packaged very nicely. It comes with a user guide where all instructions for use were clear and well-explained. I used my new cleansing brush with my Clinique Step 1 Liquid Facial Soap, oily skin formula. After my first use, my skin felt softer and had a nice glow. The brush has 2 type of bristles. The top half is green in color with an angled tip, which made it easy to use on my t-zone (forehead, nose, and chin). The rest of the bristles are white ( used on my cheeks, but I also chose to use it on my neck). Clinique's cleansing brush was definitely better than using my washcloth. hands, or a sponge cleansing brush. My face just felt cleaner. It is recommended to use it for 30 seconds and then increase up to 1 minute. This timing worked well with my schedule. The bristles are soft and I didn't have to apply any pressure when using it.
It comes with a rechargeable charger and is fully charged in three hours. The indicator light let's you know the battery status. It doesn't come with a replacement brush but my recommendation is to include at least one in the packaging.
The cleansing brush switches off after 30 seconds, which is a nice safety feature, especially if you take it with you in your travels and it switches on accidentally. There is also comes with a 2 year warranty. Over the past 12 days I have been using Clinique's Sonic System Purifying Cleansing Brush twice daily. It is a wonderful addition to my daily routine of using Clinique's 3-Step System. I would highly recommend it. My skin feels and looks wonderful. Thank you.
I have sensitive and combination skin. Tried the clarisonic but it was too harsh on my skin. The clinique brush is gentle and doesn't irritate my skin. It's effective but I wouldn't use it twice a day like they recommended. I've been using it about 3 times a week and that seems more than enough. The only downside to this brush is the lack of indicator light. There no low battery light and it doesn't light up when it's being charged. Guess I'll just have to use it till the battery runs out.
