I wouldn't try any of these bistro bowls again
The clover leaf Mexican rice bistro bowl is suppose to be a Spanish medley of high quality ingredients that provide lots of protein while satisfying your hunger. Overall, I found the bowls to be lackluster, with the fishiness of the tuna too overpowering that you can't taste anything else in the bowl. I also found the rice to be a little undercooked in texture. I also have an issue for the size provided at that cost, when other ready-made foods at the same price contain way fresher ingredients with a larger portion size.
Not a fan
I find these to be too expensive and lacking flavour in my opinion. I was looking forward to trying this but was disappointed in the end. Won’t be buying it again.
Mediocre
I recently tried the Spanish Medley version of this product and it was underwhelming due to these reasons below:
Advantages - Convenient, comes with a wooden fork, sturdy bowl that retains heat well and doesn’t burn your fingers after removing from the microwave, good portion control
Disadvantages - Oily, less tuna than expected, a little expensive, and personally flavours don’t leave a memorable statement
Definitely not one of our favourites
We were so excited to get this cloverleaf ball in the mail. But after heating it up and attempting to eat it, me and my children were so disappointed. We are very big fish eaters in our house. And I thought for sure this would make perfect lunches for my kids going further. But the taste was so bland and awful. And it left a lingering taste in mine and my sons mouth. We will definitely not be purchasing this product again. And after noticing it at the store I felt it was quite overvalued for the size of container that you get.
Nice try Cloverleaf but no go!
I bought a few of these cloverleaf bistro bowls because they went on sale and I had a coupon which only made them a $1 vs $4. I bought every flavour available and recently tried the Mexican rice and Spanish rice. The positives about this product are the portion size was ok for a quick lunch at the office and the heating instructions were easy but I also like that they added a little wooden fork for those on the go. Unfortunately, this is where the positives end as I was rather disappointed with both flavours. The Spanish rice has a mix of beans, rice and tuna which I liked better of the two. The Mexican rice was spicy but the texture of the rice for both was not consistent with most quick rices you make. The rice was too oily and felt that there was added preservatives. My boyfriend had one taste and didn’t want anymore. I don’t plan to buy these again.
