CND CREATIVE PLAY TOP COAT

Top coats are very important to me. One of the most important things that I look for in a good top coat is how glossy and shiny it will make my nails. After spending so much time prepping the nails and applying color down - the top coat is the cherry on top. This top coat unfortunately was a miss for me - it did not deliver me the high gloss or shine that I was looking for. Also, it didn't really give a protective 'film'/'covering over my nails. I used this in conjunction with the base coat and nail lacquer that was sent to me. After 2 coats of the top coat i found that it just wasn't giving me the kind of life a gel top coat would. On a more positive note, it did dry down fairly quickly as did everything else in this line.

Not a Quick dry

It wasn't as quickly drying as I hoped it would be and it didn't help with the polishes staying power. I tried this top coat with another brand and it didn't work with that either.

I received this for review through ChickAdvisor - Overall, I'm kind of indifferent about this top coat. Great consistency, dries quickly, and no overly offensive smell like some other top coats, but I didn't really find it lasted that long. I have really strong nails to begin with, and expect my nail polishes to last through my day-to-day, but this chipped within a day or two, whereas my current topcoat seals everything until my nails have grown out and need repainting. I probably would not buy this.

I had high hopes for this top coat but unfortunately it didn't meet my expectations. I use Seche Vite and find that it's much better than this, dries faster, has more shine, etc. I did like the brush and the handle, it was very easy to use but it wasn't too great.

Didn't Protect my Polish :(

I received the CND Creative play system (which includes a base coat, as well as a color and the top coat) free from ChickAdvisor.

I followed the three-step system precisely, and kept the color on for upwards of a week. After just two days of normal activities, I noticed several chips. Since the color I was wearing was a deep red hue (a beautiful one by the way...Crimson Like Its Hot), those tiny chips were extremely noticeable.

I'm still wearing the color a week later, but I have to do touch-ups every single day, which is a little frustrating since a top coat is supposed to prevent daily re-applications.

In terms of a top coat, it didn't perform well. It didn't protect the color and it didn't prevent chipping during normal daily activities.

I don't know if this is a problem with the base, nail lacquer or top coat. Or maybe the whole 3 step system. As a result I can't recommend any of the products in this 3 step system

Clear as they come!

CND top coat - Good but...

I was lucky to get to try CND™ Creative Play™ Base Coat, Top Coat and Nail Lacquer in CRIMSON LIKE IT HOT through the Product Review Club.
CND topcoat is what you're u expect from any topcoat: clear, thin for easy and smooth application, fast dry. Then after one coat of base, as recommended, I applied 2 coats of lacquer and one coat of top coat.
Even though this review is for the topcoat, it is difficult to separate it from the whole system.
While I enjoyed the topcoat, as well as the lacquer and base coat , I have to say that I was a bit disappointed in the durability.
If I spend the money on 3 products and the time to apply the three, I expect my polish to last more than a traditional single color polish, and it was not really the case. It started chipping after 2-3 days, just like a normal polish.
I had used CND Vinylux previously and found the durability to be much better.

Probably won't be using this again

This top coat absolutely stinks!! Nail polish isn't a pleasant smell in the first place but this smelled so strongly of chemicals that it actually made me sick. Although I was impressed with how quickly it dried but my nails started chipping only a few hours after applying it. Definitely not worth the smell.
