I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to try the CND Vinylux nail polish in Mint Convertible for free through ChickAdvisor!
This was my first time trying a CND polish and overall I was very impressed with this product. The colour is a beautiful mint green which is perfect for spring! I was very happy with the shade of polish and how it looked on my skin. The product was easy to apply and the applicator picks up just enough product for a smooth application. This polish wasn't too thick so you didn't have to work about any clumping on your nails.
A common issue for me with nail polish is that it always chips after the first day or two. The thing that I was most impressed by with this product was that it did not chip on my nails until the third day of wear! For this reason alone I will continue to reuse this as well as look into purchasing some different shades!
The only negative thing I have to say about this product was that is required 3-4 coats on my nails before reaching the level of opaqueness I wanted. Since the product is very thin, it is easy to apply however it requires more layers to achieve the colour you want. However, since the polish lasted so long on my nails before chipping, I am definitely willing to spend the time to apply the extra coats!
I got to try Crimson Red in the Vinylux weekly nailpolish.
It was a refreshing shade because a lot of nail colours are very matte and pastel , this one has a nice shimmer to it. But it's not a cheap looking shimmer, if you know what I'm taking about. The polish coated really nicely and the top coat dries so quickly so it's perfect when I only have a couple of moments to spare!
I really like it and I've been wearing it for a couple days now and I haven't seen a chip yet!
First review:
Just applied the CND Vinyl according to instructions. My first thoughts are that the colour polish is a bit streaky. I would have liked a bit more pigment. I feel as though I can see through the polish on the tips. My other thought was that the top coat was a bit gunky and hard to apply. If you don't get it on fast, it is really hard to add more without it looking clumpy messy. That being said, now that it is fullyl applied it looks very good. Will follow up on wear.
DAY 2:
Chips on half of my nails. On the tips. Could be because I was washing dishes by hand yesterday but I expected the Vinylux to be a bit more resilient. Not ready to remove the polish, I touched up the tips that were chipped with the colour polish and did another coat of the top coat on those nails.
Still not pleased about how streaky some of my nails look under the light.
I was lucky enough to try this product for free through Chick Advisor and CND Vinylux (thanks a bunch!!) I was really skeptical to try this but I have to say I liked it overall. There is a great colour selection. The brush was smooth and it dried relatively quickly. It stayed nice and shiny. I had a few minor chips but I am also rough with my hands and they are in water constantly. I am pretty satisfied and would purchase it.
Last week I tried CND Vinylux’s Weekly Polish System in Fragrant Freesia and was regrettably unsatisfied with this product. I either wear no nail polish or have my nails done with shellac because quite honestly, I can’t be bothered to worry about whether my nails look good all of the time. So when I heard about CND Vinylux’s Weekly Polish System, I was optimistic that this may be the solution, especially since Shellac manicures are expensive! This product is supposed to provide 7 day, chip-resistant wear in the form of regular nail polish; is supposed to be fast-drying; and, is supposed to provide long-lasting shine.
To start, it took me 3 attempts to apply this nail polish because it went on streaky and kept smudging. I expected that ten minutes would be long enough to wait for something that purports to be quick-drying, but for my final attempt at application, I waited 30 minutes before doing anything, just to be sure.
Once I got the nail polish on (and settled on having streaky nails for a week) I started coming around to the product because it really felt like it was stuck on there. Plus, I was willing to chalk the streaky application to the light colour of the nail polish and figured that had I tried a darker colour, I wouldn’t have had the same problem. That was, until I went to the spa on Day 3.
After a couple of hours in the spa, the polish started wearing at the bottom and by Day 4, the nail polish was peeling off in large chunks, leaving my nails ratty looking. Finally, when it came to removing the polish, I could barely get it off with acetone remover and my nails were left with a layer of sparkles that I could not get off!
Unfortunately, this product was not what I had hoped it would be. While the polish may have lasted longer had I not spent a day at the spa, I’m sure that this polish would not be a good option for someone who frequently gets their hands wet. I had really hoped that this product would have been a good alternative to shellac, but it just didn’t get the job done. I would not recommend this product.

I received this polish free as part of the ChickAdvisor Product Review Club!
I was pretty excited to try it out, but I have to say - it's awful. I work in retail and am self admittedly hard on my hands and nails, but I have better results with a regular polish and quick drying top coat than I did with this CND polish. The colour I received was Asphalt, a nice deep grey. The first coat went on very streaky, but the second smoothed it over. It had significant tip wear and had chipped on several nails after 24 hours! I was very disappointed. I wasn't doing anything at work or at home that was overly hard on my hands either, just basic stuff.
Overall I would not recommend this product! At all!
When I first got this polish I had extremely high hopes that it would indeed last 7 WHOLE DAYS. I am a polishaholic and have over 300 so I was super excited to be able to try CND Vinylux because I am always scouting new polish to try. So first off I love the color I was given, Plum Paisley, it was a beautiful dark, rich purple. It was super easy to apply the formula wasn't too thick and went on the nail nicely that being said when I applied the top coat after the "2 thin coats" I noticed it caused some shrinkage around the nail (shrinkage is when the top coat creeps up towards the middle of nail grabbing polish around it causing a noticeable ridge around nail). Below I am attaching 2 photos. one is day one of the polish application and it looks AMAZING sadly after day 3 there was already noticeable scuffs and tips had already started to wear off. So I would not pay $12.50 for a 3 day polish as that is the same wear as any other drug store brand. I would however pay maybe between 5-7. The top coat to me wasn't any better than my other ones per shrinkage so I found that a bit pricey. Overall I am so thankful to have been chosen to review and this polish it was ok just not worth it lol
All I can say is Wow. I put this nail polish on five days ago and it still looks incredible. The shine from the Top Coat is amazing and it still looks the same as the day I first put it on. I absolutely love this look. Can't wait to see what other colours they make.
I truly have to thank Chick Advisor for sending me this Vinylux nail polish for review. I am ever so grateful!!!
I absolutely loved this polish and top coat - the color is great - so vibrant - love the shine the top coat gives it. Definitely holding up and i am hard on my nails! Love this
I Got this to try from ChickAdvisor.
First off: I love the colour I got! (Powder my nose)
Let me break it down:
Pros:
- lovely range of colours for summer; formal events; everyday color;
-lack of nasty chemicals. (but I did still get a fairly strong odour)
-dries reasonably fast
Cons:
Sadly, the brush is just terrible! First coat left streaks which I thought ok, the second coat would cover, but sadly no. It doesnt matter how good the polish is if it doesnt go on well. I didnt remove it because I wanted to test the efficacy of the coats.
-The chips started happening on day 2 on both my hands :(
I'll try it again and see how if there is a difference. I'd still recommend it because it may be that my brush was defective.
