Right before I get a cold, I always have some cold fx, it seriously helps stop the cold from coming and when i do get sick and have it, I am all better within 3 days.
I have used this from the moment I feel a cold coming on. It seems to work and the theory is that it works by boosting your immune system by delivering a standardized dose of echinacea. I used to take drops of echinacea in my tea, but it didn't seem work quite as well. You have to take a lot of pills ...and so a bottle gets used up pretty fast - its pretty expensive.
Just saw a piece in Marketplace about this recently though...and apparently their claims are unsubstantiated and go further than they are allowed to go by the regulations. I wonder if I am creating my own placebo effect while its just delivering the usual echinacea dose I was getting in a much cheaper form.
Cold FX is awesome if you feel a cold coming on and catch it early enough that the pills/supplements are helpful. I usually grab a small pack as soon as I get the sniffles. You can buy them in different sized bottles, or you can get the little box (what I usually buy) that gives you the exact number of pills you need for a 3-day treatment plan (it's still around $15 for the box though).
I started using Cold FX on the recommendation of a friend, and it's usually my first go-to when I start to feel under the weather. You're supposed to take them daily to prevent colds, but they are WAY too expensive for that.
If you can, look out for when they are on sale - which happens fairly often. A 60- or 30-capsule bottle will last a long time for the 3-day treatment plan (instructions included on bottle) so when the price is reduced, the price is right.
I was never a believer in this stuff ya right like it's gonna do anything but my boyfriend was the opposite he always took with a cold or when he felt one coming on and a couple months ago i felt a cold coming on and i was determined not to let it take me over so i tried cold fx for the first time it worked great the cold symptoms completley dissapeared
I love this product and truly believe that it is effective. However, the price is crazy which stops me from purchasing them. I would for sure buy them if they were not so expensive.
I started taking these last winter from a recommendation from a co-worker and found they worked well as long as you take them with the first sign of a cough/cold.
I suffer from colds and flus every year and I started using Cold-FX last year as I was told that they work and they do. I find them expensive but well worth the money as the product does work.
Hopefully they will come down in price. I usually wait till they go on sale.
If you haven't tried it....go for it. They work!!!!
I like Cold-FX...recently, my husband had the flu, but I didn't get sick. I was taking Cold-FX in the morning
and before bed-time before he got sick about 2 weeks before( he wasn't), during and after. It worked for me. I took 2 capsules 2x day while he was ill, otherwise,1 on a daily basis works for me. Haven't had a
cold this winter.
The Cold-FX preventative capsules/supplements are just that. They can help prevent a cold or flu, but it does not treat it once you do get sick. Basically, the instructions are to take the capsules when you feel the onset of a cold or flu or you can take it during cold and flu season to help boost your immune system. However, the only thing that truly prevents us getting sick is to wash our hands really well and constantly. I tried the extra strength formula and I still got sick. What I expected was that you only needed to take one capsule a day, sort of like a multivitamin. However, the recommended use for adults and children 12 years of age or older, is to consume up to 12 capsules in just 3 days! I don't know if they've changed their recommendations or formulations recently, but this really threw me off. I, for one, am not a big fan of taking any sort of medication, especially in pill/capsule form which I find hard to swallow, so this number was a little too high for me. I don't think I'll ever consider buying this product (I received mine free from my place of work). Grandma's chicken soup works just fine, if not better, for me!
