I love to take care of my teeth. This toothpaste seems a little over too "minty" at first, it hurt a little. But after you get used to it, I got addicted to it

Triclosan = Bad

I don't mind Colgate as a toothpaste in that it does what I need a toothpaste to do. The reason I would not repurchase is the fact that this has triclosan in it. Triclosan is an antibacterial agent that is linked to bacterial resistance and is a potential carcinogen. Why does this need to be in a toothpaste? Sure the thought of killing bacteria in the mouth is attractive but realistically, you can only kill so many bacteria and what remains will multiply so quickly that your mouth will be a bacteria fest again in less than an hour. I know this, I know there is no stopping this, so why use anti-bacterial products? There is no need.

It's just your average toothpaste. Nothing special. It does the job if you have nothing else to use. In terms of whitening, it doesn't do much there. But, it leaves you with fresh breath and it has a nice taste.

Colgate Total contains Triclosan. It is the only toothpaste in the U.S that does so. I have used the toothpaste on and off for about three months, and it has made my teeth more sensitive to temperatures.

Pros:
- Cheap price: almost always on sale
- Easy to find on grocery stores' shelves

Cons:
- Controversy regarding ingredients known to cause cancer and other disorders
- Sensitive teeth

My husband has used this toothpaste in the past and liked it. He said it cleaned his teeth very well and had no sensitivity to it.

I use the Colgate Total Toothpaste everyday, I've seen good results to my teeth after using it. They are whiter than before. It took me a long time to obtain that shiny and white looking teeth. Since I was a kid, Colgate has been my #1 toothpaste and it hasn't changed.

I do not like this toothpaste at all. I find it has a terrible taste and an even worse after taste. will not buy this product again.

I really do not like this toothpaste.After brushing with this toothpaste I always have lots of gritty residue left behind even when I rinse with mouthwash I can still feel it there.I also do not like the after taste it does not freshen my mouth as well as some others I have tried and it has an artificial taste. I'm sure the abrasive gritty formula helps in cleaning teeth better but I hate that feeling after brushing of putting my teeth together and feeling that crunching feeling of left over toothpaste particles.
