#5 in Books

Description

Becky has a fabulous flat in London''s trendiest neighborhood, a troupe of glamorous socialite friends, and a closet brimming with the season''s must-haves. The only trouble is that she can''t actually afford it-not any of it...

I loooooooooooooooove this series. I started reading it in high school actually, trying to find my next Harry Potteresque fix, and I was pleasently surprised when I came across this book.

First of all the fact that it was a series pretty much sold it for me, I'm a series junkie, I neeeed something to come next that is just as amazing and stunning as the first. I love growing with the characters, it's intense, hahaha.. totally joking, sorry.

Anyway, I feel like there isn't a person out that that can't relate to the characters in this book. Becky tries so hard , she bubbly, but her unfortunate addiction to shopping sort of muck things up for her. Luke.. oooh, Luke, he is soooo smooth and chill, a bit intimidating because of his success but once you get to know him he's suuuch a hopeless romantic, you can totally tell. Everyone has had a Luke in their lives. Susan is the best friend you want to be, or like the girl you're totally jealous of and almost envy, but you can't for long because she's soooo sweet!

All in all, it's worth driving alllll the way to the bookstore and you won't be disappointed.

This book is great. It's an easy, entertaining read and I think anyone who loves to shop can relate to the main character. I really enjoy the internal monologues that she has with herself. The ways that she tries to justify buying another pair of pants, shoes, trenchcoat, etc and how she goes through her mental inventory of all the other items in her closet that would compliment these new items resulting in a perfectly pulled together outfit! Great book. Very entertaining and something all us shoppers can relate to.

I have loved reading through the Shopaholic series by Sophie Kinsella. She has a witty way of writing and keeps you turning the page to find out what crazy thing Becky’s going to do next. I at times would find myself feeling as anxious & excited as Becky throughout her travels. Truly an excellent read!!!

I LOVE this book ... the entire series in fact have been superb! Sophie Kinsella is such a funny, creative writer; it's wonderful to see how she takes everyday things and weaves an amazing story around them.
Becky Bloomwood, the heroine of the shopaholic series is a fresh new character that anyone can connect to. The situations she manages to get herself into will keep you laughing right to the end of the book!
And for those who are interested, the Shopaholic movie hits theatres in February of '09!

Becky and I are so alike--I can relate to her SO much. Kinsella is a great writer and this is one of my favorites. The rest of the books in the series are just as fabulous. You'll fall in love with the characters one by one. A MUST READ :)

I recently decided to read this series and I absolutely love it. This is the first one and it got me hooked (I am half way through the 3rd one now) If you are looking for a light fun read than this is definitely for you! I found myself actually getting frustrated at the main character (Becky Bloomwood) while reading it - Kinsella knows exactly how to get you involved in the story and hook you! I'd definitely recommend giving this book a read!

These are my favorite books of all time. I love the tone Kinsella writes in, and the British expressions make it even funnier. The main character though ridiculous is totally relateable. Confessions of a Shopaholic is the first book in the series and it's my favorite. I highly recommend it for a light shallow and ridiculous read.

I love this series. I couldn't put the book down when I first bought them. Book I was my #2 favourite in the series. Becky was hilarious and she was doing all the things I wish I had the guts (or stupid enough) to do. It was a great story and it's one of my favourite book series. I've re-read these books about 5 times.

I have read all the books in this series, and loved every single one of them! It is a nice light read and I can relate to the shopaholic all too well. It is the perfect vacation read.
