    Awesome cookies

I love cookies as a good snack, and especially if they're filled with oatmeal and raisins and all kinds of good stuff. Now this particular brand is very good because it's at a cheap price, for oh-so-not cheap produce though(wink)

Decent option for a cookie with protein added

I am trying to get more protein in my diet and since I'm not a a huge meat eater, I have been trying a lot of protein snacks.

I saw the Cookie+ Protein cookies at the Circle K when I went to get gas at Esso and decided to try the oatmeal Raisin.

The first thing that I will point out is that it is still a cookie. It is high in calories and therefore carbs, but the ingredients are a little cleaner than a typical store bought cookie and there is some added protein.

Overall, the taste was good! It is a soft cookie, but the oatmeal gives it a nice chewy texture. It is not overly sweet (which I have found with a lot of protein snacks), but I did notice that it does not smell great. It's hard to describe, but it almost has a malty/alcohol smell (though it tastes fine). It is also important to keep in mind that it is a large Starbucks-sized cookie and the nutritional facts on the package are only for half of the cookie.

Though the taste is good, I think I would be more likely to eat a real oatmeal cookie and really enjoy it, then just have a small protein shake with it (or maybe a boiled egg) for added protein.

    Nutrition Facts (for 1/2 cookie):

    200 calories
    5 g fat
    28 g carbs
    2.5 g fibre
    10 g protein
