I have to admit, in the past, I haven't always taken the best care of my skin. Especially when it came to applying sunscreen.
But this year, I turned 30 and promised myself that I was going to start looking after my skin better. So being given the chance to try this new Coppertone Suncreen Lotion for Faces was perfect!
Just days after I received the product, we started a backyard reno! It involved hours in the sun for several days in a row.
I applied this lotion every morning before heading out. I found I had a hard time figuring out how much I needed and over-applied it the first couple of times. I like the way the lotion feels on my skin. It rubs on nice and thick, making sure you can cover every little bit. It wasn't greasy at all! I didn't have any skin issues - no breakouts or bumps, no red spots or rashes.
I did find I had to reapply at least every few hours though, especially when sweating. I made the mistake of just doing a one-and-done in the morning and my forehead was a little leathery by the end of the day :/
Overall a great product & a must have for my summer skin care routine this year!
I was very excited to once again be included in a ChickAdvisor product review club offer. I received my sample of Coppertone Sunscreen Lotion Sensitive Skin SPF 50 completely free of charge in exchange for giving my honest review. I waited for the sun to come out, and waited and waited. Just my luck it was a cloudy week and how can I test a sunscreen with no sun. The following week I feel ill and was out of commission for another full week. OK, so how am I going to test this stuff out? I had a plan. My 23 year old daughter just landed a new job as an ECE (early childhood educator) supervisor. She is constantly outside. Walking to and from the bus stop and playing outside with her students. Perfect. She has very sensitive skin and is particularly prone to sun damage due to red hair and fair freckled skin. So she slathered on the Coppertone Sensitive Skin sunscreen all over her face. It took a little time to completely rub in but that might of been because she used too much. Better safe than sorry. She didn't notice any odor at all which is great. It was very sensitive and did not sting when applied around her eyes. She did say it felt a little sticky but once it soaked in more she didn't notice it at all. After a full week of using Coppertone Sunscreen on her face she did notice that there were some areas like the bridge of her nose and her chin that the skin was starting to peel a little bit. It was not sore or irritated at all just some flaking and wondered if this was a coincidence or if it was due to using the Coppertone Sunscreen. We are not really sure. Anyways this product did protect her from the sun all week and did not cause any breakouts. She says this is an effective product that she would definitely consider purchasing in the future. Thank you ChickAdvisor and #CoppertoneSensitiveSkin for protecting sensitive faces. Now bring on the sunshine already.
This sunscreen does exactly what it advertises. It is very gentle on my sensitive skin and it protects from the sun very well. I don't ever breakout so I can't attest to the "no breakouts" claim but it didn't cause any skin issues for me. I love that it is completely unscented and the small size tube is handy to toss in my bag. It was moisturizing enough for my dry skin.
On the negative side, the cream is very white and pasty and leaves a definite white cast on the skin, even after rubbing it in. I am super pale and it made me look even whiter! I also found it quite difficult to rub in. It left white marks along my hairline and I wouldn't want to apply it without a mirror handy. I found that it made my face super shiny although it didn't feel greasy. I definitely needed to use powder to tone down the disco-ball like sheen from my face!
I think that this would be a really great sunscreen for children and those with super sensitive skin that burns very easily. For myself I would not purchase this product as there are many other physical sunscreens out there with more elegant formulas.
I received this product for free in exchange for an honest review.
I trialed the Coppertone Sunscreen Lotion Sensitive Skin for Faces with SPF 50; my first impression was that it was a little too thick for my liking. It took a little bit of work to really work into my skin for this reason, and did leave me looking a little white! A little goes a long way!
I could feel the lotion on my skin, even after a few minutes of being on (rather than absorbing into the skin) - but it was not sticky feeling and covered up under make up.
As far as how it worked - I didnt experience any break outs from the product, skin irritation/discomfort and it protected me from burning on the days I was out in the hot sun!
All in all, it worked really well, but it was a little too thick for my personal liking!
Product was very thick and hard to blend in on the skin. It left my skin very white even after applying makeup on top of it. However it did not cause any irritations nor breakouts on my sensitive skin, which is a plus.
I prefer chemical filters rather than mineral ones, so this product is not my cup of tea. But for kids I think it's a great value!
Note: I received this free product in exchange for an honest review.
Although when I first squeezed it out of the tube and started applying, the sunscreen felt very thick and heavy, once you rub it in its relatively light weight.
It didn't feel greasy like some other facial sunscreens, and its great that the SPF is as high as 50.

I have struggled over the years to find a sunscreen for my sensitive skin. My skin is not only prone to blemishes but also to dry skin, so finding a sunscreen that will protect me from sun damage without causing my skin to break out is very important to me. I tried Coppertone Sunscreen Lotion Sensitive Skin SPF 50 for about two weeks. The first time I tried this sunscreen I used it on a clean face with no moisturizer or make-up. While initially it felt heavy, I was very impressed with the protection it provided. After a few hours outside in the sun, my face did not get sunburnt and I didn’t experience any breakouts afterwards. I also tested this product under my makeup as I like to use a moisturizer that has sunscreen for everyday use. I wouldn’t recommend using this sunscreen underneath makeup as it made my skin feel very heavy. However, it still protected my skin from sunburns and I experienced no breakouts as promised. This sunscreen is very similar to other sensitive sunscreens I have used in the past, except Coppertone has a higher SPF than the others I’ve used. I would buy this product again if I was planning a day at the beach or a trip down south and I would recommend this product to anyone with sensitive skin.
Coppertone Sunscreen Lotion Sensitive Skin Faces SPF 50 was sent to me thanks to chick advisor and coppertone free to test. The cream is thick and white you can easier see where you applied and where it needs to be rubbed in. I liked the high spf and found it didn't bother mine or my daughters skin at all. I like this for a face sunscreen but not really great for the on the go trips since a mirror or friend is needed to make sure your not covered in white marks. I really like it but will still hold on to my normal sun block for on the go and body.
I was give the Coppertone Sunscreen Lotion for Sensitive Skin Faces SPF 50, free to test by Chick Advisor. Thankfully the weather was cooperating on most days and I was able to try the product on both sunny and cloudy days.
I loved the fragrance, not to heavy, but did find that the product was a little difficult to spread on skin, kind of thick. Since I perspire quite heavily, I also found that the product would run into my eyes with the sweat. I did not put this on or near my eyes but on my forehead, nose, cheeks etc. It did seem to take a bit to soak into the skin.
Other than that, I am pleased with the product, I did not receive a burn, and my skin did not react to the product. It did not dry it out or leave it excessively greasy once it did disappear,
I am so happy to have received this product from Chickadvisor. I got a bad sunburn on my arms a few weeks ago which has faded into a DARK tan which I don't want to get any darker. If anything, I want the tan to fade so I am so happy to have a sunscreen with SPF 50 to use!
I feel that because this sunscreen is so thick that it works really well. I have used it several times and my tan is continuing to fade (thank goodness). However, because the cream is so thick I find it hard to apply so that it blends in. It takes awhile for me to to blend into my skin so you don't see the whiteness of the cream anymore. However, having said that, I don't find it to be all that greasy like some sunscreens that are out there. I also appreciate the fact that it's unscented.
I think it works as well as other sunscreens that I use and I like the fact that it doesn't feel greasy when I put it on. But it isn't as easy to apply because I have to rub it in a bit more. I actually prefer other dry touch sunscreens because they are also non-greasy and easier to apply.
However, people with sensitive skin (I'm not one of them) might feel that this formulation works well for them. I don't have sensitive skin so it's difficult for me to comment on that particular matter. I would recommend it to friends who have sensitive skin and might choose it over my usually dry-touch sunscreen depending on price.
