Amazing product, but limited availability...
I'm so disappointed that most retailers in Canada have now stopped selling the #CoverFX line - First it was only available at Shoppers Drug Mart who discontinued it, followed by Sephora who just recently discontinued selling the products. This brand is fantastic, with a broad range of shades, high quality products that provide full coverage. The brand was really created to address difficult skin conditions to provide the ultimate coverage, and that it does! I hope another retailer here takes the brand on!!
Holy Grail Foundation
This has been the only foundation that I have continually repurchased over the last decade. My skin is far from perfect with lots of acne scars but this foundation covers it all.
Good option for a heavy coverage foundation
While I usually rely on a light to med. coverage foundation, I have acne and scaring on my face. I was being interviewed for tv and was nervous about how my skin would look on camera and went looking for a full coverage foundation. The staff at Sephora recommended this as the best quality full coverage before getting into products like Dermacol. I found it rather pricey but decided to give it a go after testing the level of coverage in store.
Granted I am not very adept at make-up application but on first try found it caked in certain areas and caused dry areas to flake and peel within a couple hours of wear. The next attempt I exfoliated and moisturized in preparation which helped but just found with my combination skin, it worked well in my t-zone where I am naturally oily, but caked and flaked on my cheeks and jawline which are dry, yet where I needed the most colour coverage.
All in all it did the job for what I needed and would wear it again if i needed full coverage for a 2-3 hour window but wouldn't plan it lasting an 8 hour day and still holding up. I feel like I could get away with heavy application of a decent med. coverage foundation and avoid all the challenges of this product.
If you have used MAC concealer this is its match foundation
I have used the MAC spf concealer for over 23 years. It is oil based, but hypoallergenic and non clogging. I since tried foundations and never found anything that worked for me. So I continued using MAC studio fix powder and no foundation.
Look no further because staff at Sephora narrowed my search down to 3 options and this was the winner along with Laura Mercier in Cashew.
This compact is creamy, and a little goes a long way. It is oil based non clogging and was concieved for burn victims. Works perfectly with MAC studio fix and spf concealer. Makes skin flawless and is not cakey. Spreads and is good enough to be a concealer itself.
So glad to have this, as I will use it on camera often.
Best coverage
I use this on top of a liquid foundation to cover up any spots or redness. I'll just a foundation brush to get the most out of the product. It covers so well and I just love the way it blends into my skin. Once it's sealed with a loose powder, I'm good to go for the entire work day. Must have in my makeup bag.
This foundation is great for sensitive skin and skin that is on the dryer side. It doesn't cause me to breakout and covers well. The cream foundation means u don't necessarily required concealer as well.
This foundation is for the full coverage girl. Perfect to use as a concealer as well. This product is medical grade make up that can be used to cover scars, birthmarks, and tattoos. It provides a flawless full coverage, yet you are able to apply it very thinly for a shear-medium coverage. Must be used in conjunction with their setting powder. The setting powder will give you that all day hold as well as crate a water resistant barrier.
My favorite foundation ever! I have been using this product since it first launched at Shoppers Drug Mart in Ottawa in 2004. The product is creamy and easy to apply with perfect coverage, long lasting with SPF to boot.
I really have mixed feeling about this foundation. I tend to use this product on a day where I want fuller coverage but what I do not like about this product is that is pronounces under eye wrinkles, even though I tend to not really have much of that yet. It has a dry texture to it, and I would not say it is creamy at all. Not so good if you have dry skin. A pro on this product is it does stay put and when it's on it's on all day. I do like the mirror they give you but I find the packaging pretty bulky and takes up a lot of space. I will not be repurchasing this product in the future, it is not for me.
You only need a small amount of this to work with. I lucked out finding it on clearance for just a few dollars and I am in love with foundation again. I feel better knowing there is SPF in this to protect my skin from aging. It is quite thick so don't apply too much. Looks natural and covers incredibly well.
