An Above Average Drug Store Brand Foundation

What I like most about this product is its moderately buildable colour. It only took a little for a perfect, light day coverage when I wanted a really clean, natural look but I was able to build on that colour in the evening for a higher coverage look for more dramatic makeup. I don't think you're going to get that super strong air brushed style look from this product but I was very happy with the coverage I did get. It goes on smoothly and cleanly and didn't make my face feel greasy or oily (or dried out either!) It was just a nice, sheer look without any caking or flaking as the day went on. I thought it evened out my color nicely (I can be a bit red in the cheek areas sometimes). I am also happy that it contained SPF 20 as I am super religious about using sun protection on my face.

This product does have a fairly strong scent to it; I was initially worried about this as I tend to avoid products that are strongly scented as they seem to cause blemishes or irritation but so far I haven't had any problems with this formula. I have pretty normal skin so I'm not sure how this would perform on oily or dry skins.

I did have issues with the cap on mine; it doesn't snap down and just kind of rattles around on top of the bottle. Other than that, I really like this product and would recommend it to anyone looking for an average price, accessible, well performing product.

My go to!

This is my go to, everyday foundation. It has a beautiful medium to full, buildable coverage. It gives a gorgeous, natural luminous finish to the skin. It wears very well and feels so light weight on the skin. I recommend thus foundation to everyone! I love it.

Recently tried the new covergirl vitalist elixir foundation. I have loved their outlast 3 in 1 foundation in the past, and this seemed similar, and with the benefit of spf 20 sunscreen. I am usually classic ivory in all covergirl foundations, but in this one, I needed to go a shade lighter, as I found after application, the foundation oxidized darker. In the lighter shade, I don't notice this as much.

Overall a great, full coverage foundation, that does not make my skin look dry or cakey. Has a semi luminous finish, but works well with my matte coverage powder. Does not break down through the day, so it seems that is would work for more oily skinned users.

I can no longer count how many drugstore foundations I have tried. This new Cover Girl foundation has be blown away. I've work it three times so far. Each time a couple people have mentioned how flawless my foundation looks and asked me what I'm using. I had a few coworkers go through my makeup bag. This stuff is amazing. I find it lasts my work day. I have mild rosacea and usually after a couple hours it begins to break through all previous foundations but not this one. The application is smooth. I find it blends well. Offers amazing coverage for what you think a drugstore brand would offer. It's also great that this foundation offers SPF20 as well. So the cons, the cap sucks. It doesn't stay on the bottle properly and keeps popping off which makes it difficult (or potentially dangerous) in my makeup bag. Bonus - it does have a twist cap nozzle where you can close it so it wont leak. The other con, is that that I'm pretty porcelain and the lightest shade is just a smidge too dark. I just make sure to drag it down my neck. We are just getting out of the winter months where I live but I'm sure it'll be a perfect match once this pasty white gets some sun.
