I was given this product for review, otherwise I probably wouldn't have bought it. I'm not a big fan of whitening strips after some pretty bad experiences in the past - burning, foaming... remember those days??
The good news is: those days are over. I expected at least a little foaming, but nothing. I kept them in for two hours, as per the directions, and not so much as excess spit. I was pretty pleased with that.
Definitely easy to apply. The instructions are pretty clear and the strips don't budge once they're in place. I put them on before bed, when I knew I wouldn't have to interact with a lot of people - just in case, I didn't want to look like a rabid dog.
After 2 hours they were easy to remove. I wasn't sure if I was suppose to brush my teeth (the instructions don't say), so I just rinsed my mouth. There was no weird taste or feeling left on my teeth, which I was pleasantly surprised with.
I didn't notice any difference right away, but I am pretty sure they lightened my teeth a shade or two. I may be also trying to convince myself there is a difference.
PROS
- cheaper than dentist whitening
- easy to apply
- no taste or residue left behind
- no foaming or burning while on teeth
CONS
- definitely teeth sensitivity over the next two days, but it went away
- two hours feels like a VERY long time, especially if you're hungry
I was chosen to test this product and my overall experience using this product was a great experience. I have not tried any whitening treatments in the past so I thought that this product was very effective in brightening up my smile. Its very easy to do and you only have to do it every three months which is great! The only drawback is some tooth sensitivity for a few hours after using this. But, I do like this product and have definately told my friends to try this. Thanks Chickadvisor!
I received this through Chick Advisor's product review club. I have tried other crest white strips in the past and was excited to try their 2hr whitening version.
Positives:
- Follow the instructions and you'll be fine
- Effects last for 3 months (one little box for a whole year's supply, easy to store so you won't lose them)
- They stay in place and don't slide around
- Yes it's a painful 2 hour process, but if you do it while doing an activity the time goes by quickly
- The results were noticeable white. My teeth are pretty white to begin with but I was very satisfied with the extra bright smile I was left with.
Drawbacks:
- My teeth had a discomfort, a tingling sensation that lasted long after I removed them from my teeth. In the instructions however there was a disclaimer that if you do experience discomfort they have a sensitive version that's less harsh
If you know your teeth are sensitive I suggest trying the sensitive version because the results with these were great. If you want to try to see if you'll get a discomfort, go for it, as the results were great!
Through the product review club I received a box of the Crest 3D Whitestrips 2-hour Express. I followed the directions and applied the strips to my teeth (and my husbands). I really do prefer the advanced seal system versus the regular "keep sliding off my teeth" system. They adhere very well and this is an important feature if you are to leave them on for a 2 hour period.
At around the 1 hour mark both myself and my husband started to have tooth sensitivity. A dull ache that wouldn't let up. At that point I really wasn't sure if I felt comfortable leaving them on for another hour. Both of us persevered until we reached the 2 hour mark.
We were both satisfied with the end results. Our teeth were visibly whiter and brighter. However, we both continued to have tooth sensitivity into the next day. We are now using a toothpaste marketed for tooth sensitivity to try and reverse the pain.
Verdict: Although the strips provided great whitening powers we did not feel that the pain was worth the results. I will stick to the regular Crest Whitestrips which do not cause the same level of tooth sensitivity and provide similar results.
After using both the two week cycle and one week cycle of Whitestrips in past years, I was excited to try this new two- hour version. Having to use these prior for such long amounts of time left my teeth feeling ultra-sensitive and sore, so my hope was that by using these for only two hours, it wouldn't be that bad, right? Wrong! Although I am happy with the results (my teeth look a lot brighter), the process was painful. My teeth felt very sore, even the next day! I did appreciate how easy they were to use and that they stayed in place once put on my teeth. I am also happy with the results. My teeth weren't too stained, so were fairly white when I started, but I did notcie that there was an extra brightness in my smile. Can't go wrong with that, right? Just be warned that if you try these, chances are you will be in pain. I guess that's the price of beauty :)
First off my thanks to Crest and the beauty review club for letting me review this nice new product !
Ok here are my positive comments , This product works well, and the quality has improved the strips stay put way better then the older strips version ...
You can definitely see a whiter smile :) I've been smiling more ...
Now on the other side : I did suffer some major tooth sensitivity ( I normaly drink hot beverages or cold ones
with no problem ) But with this product I was somewhat in pain but that only lasted about 1 day ...
So the day after I had no issues while drinking my hot tea !
That being said , I would still recommend it to most people because Im reallly happy with the results !
But if you suffer already from serious tooth sensitivity it might not be for you ...
Like some of the chicks said hopefuly the price goes down a bit , then i would definitely buy it !
Well I had seen this on the store shelves and always thought to myself "Heck NO" I wasnt about to pay almost 60bucks to stick things to my teeth without knowing there was going to be an actual result. Well I tried it and was pleased to see it did whiten my teeth. It was a lil annoying to have something in my mouth for 2 hrs and felt like it was coming off sometimes but I got through it. Glad its not just a one time use and they give you enough for the year. Id be willing to buy it again and recomend it to ppl that cant afford the high cost of the Dentist!
I received this product as part of the product review club. I was really excited when I received the Whitestrips Express kit and was hoping for good results! When I opened the box I was surprised to see 4 tiny little foil pouches in a really big box - I know we're rating the product, but packaging could be a little less ;) I was also a little nervous about trying them as there were very basic instructions included with the package.
The strips themselves were super sticky. When I first put it on I was afraid that it would be sliding all around but it didn't! Once its in place, its REALLY in place, so you better get it positioned correctly on the first try. My teeth aren't perfectly straight and I found it a little awkward to try to get my teeth fully covered. As for tooth sensitivity, towards the end of the 2 hours I found that my teeth were a little achy, and I had a couple of sharp jabs of pain. That's when I decided that it had been long enough and went to remove the strips.... It was a little difficult to remove the strips but they finally came off leaving only a little bit of residue which came off when I brushed my teeth. I saw immediate results, whiter and felt so clean! The only downside is that a couple of my teeth are still a little yellow around the gumline where my teeth are uneven... but its hardly noticeable. And the pain/sensitivity went away pretty much as soon as the strips were removed. As for the retail price of the kit, I think it might be a little high (approx $60-$70), but I guess when you look at it as being 4 treatments its still cheaper than the dentist. Not sure that I would pay full retail for it though.
I have to say that I'm really surprised by the results of the Crest 3D Whitestrips Express, and very happy! I will definitely use the other 3 treatments (thanks Chickadvisor!) and will be recommending it to friends. I just hope it comes down in price before I have to buy it again!
I would like to thank the Chickadvisor ladies and Crest for the opportunity to test and review Crest 3d- 2 hour express whitestrips. This is the first review that I'm wishing for a( I'm in the middle) of You betcha and fugheddaboutit.I tried this product yesterday and wanted to give it 24 hours before doing my review..The pros outweighed the cons so I decided to recommend this product.
Before receiving the white strips I went and checked out crests website http://www.3dwhite.com.Under whitening results/photo whitening tool you can upload a picture of yourself and see what the results would be after using the white strips. There are also coupons and a free sample of the white strip and toothpaste for anyone who would like the opportunity to try these. After reading through the site and there's lots of information there about whitening I was really excited to try this product.I have tried the 30 minute strips many years ago so was curious to see the differences
I was little shocked at the packaging I think it could be downsized a bit.Its this big box with these four small packs of strips. It just seemed a waste of packaging. The strips were much more sturdy then how I remember the old ones which were so flimsy and would slide around on my teeth. These fit perfectly snug and comfortable I could see foaming from the peroxide under the strips but there was no taste.I liked the fact that it was 2 hours actually 30 minute a day with the older ones I could never keep up with. These you just slap them on and just keep busy for 2 hours.I took some quiet time and read a book..The 2 hours actually flew by for me.When taking the strips off they are really snug on your teeth and leave residue. The directions said to either wipe, brush or rinse after removing.I wiped with a soft cloth and then brushed.
My teeth felt really smooth and looked as stated by crest to be a shade whiter.I looked in my 10X magnifying mirror and that's when I could really see it worked!I could see at the very tops of the gum line these fine yellow lines. So that's the shade it was before! My teeth weren't badly stained just a mild yellow as I do drink cola and red wine on occasion so its natural teeth will yellow from these.I have straight teeth so they fit very well but I can imagine if someones teeth were crooked it may be a little harder to apply.
The con about this product....Well about an hour after taking off the strips I had major sensitivity my teeth ached all night. It was very annoying. However this morning my teeth are feeling fine if they were still hurting this morning this would have been a different review!I'm wondering if its the fact that this product was on my teeth for 2 hours?Perhaps to long for people with sensitivity's.I do not recall having this pain with the 30 minute strip.
The end results are I have much whiter teeth they look and feel better. The sensitivity was only temporary so these are worth it for me!I brush daily with whitening toothpaste and use whitening mouthwash and even chew whitening gum and haven't been able to get the results I did with the whitestrips. The results state it will work for three months and there are three more upper and lower strips in the pack.So this whitening system is good for a year! Thanks again Chickadvisor and Crest!
Note:The free whitestrip and toothpaste sample is only valid in the Usa.
These strips are pretty good. I recommend patting your teeth dry with paper towel prior to applying them so the strips go on smoothly and stick. I didn’t last the full 2 hours because i was A) terrified that my tooth enamel would completely wear off and B) I would never be able to eat ice cream again.!
Regardless, they did whiten my teeth (not blinding white, but brighter than what they were), so i can only imagine what it would be like when i leave it on for 2 hours. My teeth felt sensitive but that wore off the next day. I would recommend these strips because they stick to your teeth and they actually do whiten, and lets face it-any kind of whitening will cause some pain/sensitivity in order to get brighter, whiter teeth.
