In the interest of full disclosure, I did receive the 2 hour express whitestips via chickadvisor as part of their product review panel. However, I found out that the product retails for around $70.00 which I found a little on the high side. That being said, the box lasts the whole year, as you are supposed to do a treatment every four months or so.
First - it is hard to find two hours in a day to do the whitening (it is a little awkward to talk with them in and I felt like I was lisping on the phone when I had to take a call that came up), but at least you only have to apply once instead of several days in a row as with previous whitening treatments I have tried. The strips adhered to my teeth really well and weren't as slippery/prone to moving around as other whitening strips I have tried in the past. After two hours (during which time I did notice the peroxide taste in my mouth from time to time, but it wasn't too bad or worse than other whitening strips I have tried), I removed the strips and brushed my teeth to get rid of the peroxide residue and I did notice my teeth had whitened several shades. Noticeable, but not Donny Osmond bright. I liked the results and will do it again in another few months as directed.
With respect to tooth sensitivity, I have experienced it in the past for a few days after whitening, but so far, I don't notice any sensitivity this time with the 2 hour express. All around a good product that does what it says it is going to do. Don't expect perfectly white teeth, but do expect a noticeable whitening of your teeth. The price is a little hefty, but beats what the dentists charge for what I think are fairly comparable results.
Update: After writing this review (about 6 hours post application), I did start feeling some sensitivity in my teeth that was fairly intense - two advil didn't really do anything to relieve the pain. However, it was short lived (lasted for a few hours). However, given the pain, I'm not sure I would do it again - certainly not as frequently as the box suggests - maybe just once a year?
I was so excited about the opportunity to be a part of this product review club! I've used Crest White Strips in the past, but never the 2 hour kit. I've been curious about it though after seeing the commercials on TV I wanted to know if they would really work as well as they suggested.
I tried the strips two days ago and I had mixed emotions.
1) I was really impressed with the adhesiveness of the strips. They are 5X better than the regular strips; I wasn't worried they were going to slide around... which is good since I had to keep them there for 2 hours. I also liked that none of the gel slid around or out from the creases of your teeth (this had also happened to be with the other strips)
2) I removed the strips and my teeth felt really smooth (always a good feeling) and they were definitely white and sparkly... though how much whiter is tough to tell. I'm really happy with the results though and I'm even more excited that the package comes with 4 sets of strips so I'll be able to maintain the results for a whole year!
3) When the package mentions some sensitivity ... expect it! I didn't really notice the sensitivity of my teeth the night I used the strips, however the next morning my teeth experienced a dull ache all through the day... it was very disheartening and I chose to wait to do my review and see if the discomfort would go away...
4) The sensitivity is only temporary! I was right, the achy teeth were all gone within a day and I don't notice any sensitivity anymore.
I'm really happy with the results and I'm excited to use them again (I'll probably give one of the sets to my fiancé and we'll use them right before the wedding in January (maybe 2 days before to get over the sensitivity). Perfect timing ChickAdvisor... I can use them again in just 3 months!
I'll be recommending these to my bridesmaids and really anyone else that asks me about my teeth or what they can use. Thanks Crest! and Thanks ChickAdvisor!
I received the strips as part of the product review club. There's enough in that box to last supposedly a year. I didn't realize at first i had to wear them for 2 hours...I used the strips in the past and it was 30 minutes. So i don't really know why those are called "express"...I guess the result has to be express.
I didn't know if i was alowed to drink during the 2 hours as the instruction didn't mention anything...They are not uncomfortable to me. They were a little bit difficult to take off but i can see my teeth a whiter.
I think overall this product has great potential if you know that you don't have to go anywhere for 2 hours.
I received these strips as part of the product reviews club. I've used Crest Whitestrips in the past to whiten my teeth and have always been happy with the results. However, those strips were only meant to be left on my teeth for 30 mins, not 2 hours. The length of time you have to leave this strips in your mouth is a huge downside for me because I usually don't have 2 hours to spare. Yes, I know you can wear them while watching tv or doing homework, but the phone always rings or a last minute errand always pops up. And there is no way I'm leaving my house with these strips on my teeth! They also cause me to drool....not sure if anyone else experienced this, but its gross. Needless to say, I didn't last the whole 2 hours, maybe 1.5. However, in that short amount of time, I did notice a difference in the brightness of my teeth.
The pack comes with 4 strips that are meant to last for a full year, so I'll give this a go again in a few months and let you know if my opinion has changed.
These whitestrips does the job............ if you're patient enough and have a high tolerance
I started feeling discomfort half and hour in and I endured it for 1 hours and 10 minutes.. before i decided to rip off the strips.
Without fulfilling the 2 hour requirement, i didn't expect to see extreme results
but at 1 hour, it already did the trick of making it whiter, noticeably (thumbs up for this!)
thumbs down for
- 2 hours of discomfort. I've tried the 14-day crest whitestrips and found it easier to bare because it was only for 30 minute intervals each time. the downside for the 14 days is the commitment of time. But since there wasn't any discomfort, each 30 minute passed by fast. for these 2 hours strips though, i dreaded every minute...
even so, i'm happy with the results
i'm glad its a once a month treatment and i would recommend it to someone who want whiter teeth
they just have to be mentally prepared!!
As soon as I got my samples, I immediately started to peel, apply and reveal as per the instructions. I took note of the easy-to-follow instructions and applied the strip to my lower teeth then my upper teeth. I immediately noticed that the "bond" to my teeth was much stronger than the regular whitening strips I was used to. The strips did not slip or move around which was great! I tried my best to leave the strips on for 2 hours but unfortunately, I felt a bit of tingling sensation on my lips (must have gotten some peroxide on my lips) and some sensitivity to my teeth so had to remove the strips after about 1.5 hours. Compared to the regular strips (i.e. non-express), these ones were a bit harder to remove but it was by no means difficult at all. I noticed a difference in colour right away - even my husband commented on how bright my teeth looked. However, I would probably not use this product often as I found that my teeth were extremely sensitive and borderline uncomfortable afterward.
I am happy with the results of this product.
The strips are easy to use, although 2 hours was a long time to have something stuck to your teeth. They did make my teeth more sensitive and were a little tough to remove because of the increased sticky (compared to other Crest whitening versions).
I am an avid coffee and wine drinker, as such my teeth had a yellow tinge prior to using this product. My teeth are noticeably whiter where I placed the strips. As this product is only designed to work only on natural enamel, my teeth exposed to the strips are whiter, but the area where I have a partial filling did not whiten, resulting in one bi-colored tooth.
As for sensitivity – I did experience temporary sensitivity (and I don’t have sensitivity teeth) in the area where the strips were placed both during usage and for about 6 hours following the use of the product.
I would recommend this product to both friends and family who do not have sensitive teeth, as it was easy to use and the results were noticeable.
Thank you ChickAdvisor and Crest for the opportunity to try Crest 3D Whitestrips 2 hours express!
They did whiten my teeth noticeably--to my standards. When I asked the hubby if he noticed... he didn't. So it wasn't dramatic. I did the red lipstick test because that's when I can really tell how stained my teeth are and I have to say... not too bad!!
I didn't taste any peroxide due to the tight TIGHT grip these strips had on my teeth, they leave residue behind but I just rinsed it off with my fingers under running water.
Initially I didn't feel sensitivity, after about 1 hour after removing the strips, I noticed the familiar burn. DARN!
I don't mind the length of 2 hours, I noticed some other reviewers found this as a negative. I have found in the past, the half hour requires me to hang around home, while these 2 hour ones allowed me to go grocery shopping or make dinner. I didn't mind the wait.
Read the instructions! When you apply the strips, the instructions tell you to hold the strip in place for several seconds, probably to create that tight bond. Its not like the commercials where the model just swipes it on then hops in her cute car. Do it right--it just takes a couple minutes!
Overall, I was satisfied... satisfied enough to buy some? Not for everyday, but I do have my wedding coming up and this couldn't have come at a better time.
Only natural teeth can be whitened.
Safe for your tooth enamel, a years supply (4 packs, 1 every three months) give it a shot!
Ok so it's now 16 hours since removing the strips I am suffering from some MAD sensitivity. I had to take an Ibuprofen so I could get sleep. They are starting to get better but I am aware of discomfort. Sigh.. I don't think I will be doing this again...
I tried these strips first thing right after I got them in the mail early this afternoon. I was really excited after hearing from some other reviews (not in chickadvisor) about how they do wonders to your teeth. So i left them on for two hours and here's what I have to say:
First of all, with the Advanced Seal, they did stay on my teeth the whole time and didn't shift around, even when I was drinking water! So that's definitely as true as advertised. After 2 hours when I removed them, however, I did find them difficult to remove. The gel was stuck to some of my teeth and the bottom strip was not as long as I would have preferred.
But overall, it did what it needed to do, which was to help whiten my teeth. I have tried using Crest Classic whitestrips as well as the Crest Advanced Vivid strips, which were okay, but didn't do as well as I'd think. This two hour express strip whitened teeth too, but not as good as their advanced vivid ones. My teeth maybe got whiter by one shade max, nothing more than that. Nevertheless, it did do it's job but i would stick to my Advanced Vivid strips instead. It takes more than two hours, but has greater results. Within 2 hours, I guess this is as good as it can get.
I was thrilled to receive the 2 hour express white strips in the mail from Chickadvisor. I had tried Crest Whitestrips before but hadn't gotten around to buying them again to refresh my white smile. Overall, I was happy with the result!
After having tried the original Whitestrips which you have to leave on for 30 minutes each day, the 2 hours was a bit long so I took them off after 1 1/2 hours! It definitely brightened my smile a lot, so I can maintain my pearly whites (which people commented on after whitening!)
Another bonus is that these strips adhere a lot better to your teeth so you don't have to worry about them coming off. However, the gel once again oozed out of the edges while the strips were on and gummed up my mouth. Kind of gross...but beauty comes with a price. All in all, I would say these are great for a time saving whitening treatment!
