First, I haven't whitened my teeth in over 6 months. The strips were exactly the same as any of the Crest Strips I've used before, with the exception of easier to fold over corners on the strips peices. I like the idea of only 2 hours, and that's it. I've given up when I had to do 2 weeks, or even 1 week. I like the idea of only once every 3-4 months.
I agree with other statements that the results are not going to give you glaring white teeth, so don't have high hopes if that is what you're looking for. There IS noticeable results, just not dramatic. I liked the adhesion of the strips, the 2 hours went by quickly and I drank water no problem, talked on the phone, and no worries. I would buy this again for the conveinence alone.
I was very eager to try Crest 3D Whitestrips 2-hour express as the high cost of whitening treatments has put me off in the past. I was pleased with the ease of the process although I didn't like the bleach taste. I didn't have any tooth sensitivity and it was pretty painless. I was happy with the results although they weren't as bright as I had envisioned. After a few more applications it would probably be much more obvious. I would recommend these to people like myself who don't want to bother applying whitening products anymore than once every three months. Thanks Chickadvisor!
I was expecting a more dramatic whitening effect from this product, so i was a bit disappointed when after 2 hours, i only noticed my teeth had gotten a couple shades whiter.
Therefore, i only recommend this for people who are pressed for time and want to brighten their smile just a couple shades.
I found it mildly uncomfortable to wear, although it was fortunately alright to drink water with them on. I didn't taste any of the gel when i drank water, so it seems quite safe. Peeling the strips off was simple and easy, with no residual chemical-y aftertaste. I just rinsed with water after removing the strips.
I felt mild sensitivity a few hours post-removal, which lasted a few hours. I went to sleep a few hours after removal, and i'm' sure the sleep helped me avoid several more hours of sensitivity! So i do recommend that users who might be concerned with sensitivity apply this product just a few hours prior to sleeping, so that you can benefit from relief from sensitivity while sleeping.
Overall, i would recommend this product to people who only seek mild whitening benefits in a short span of time.
I am a commited consumer of Whitestrips, and Crest 3D whitestrips 2-hour Express has to be the easiest and most pleasant application technique so far. Although, the results may not be as promising as the title, I think the "2-hr express" may be a little misleading. I thought after two hours my teeth would be shining bright, sadly they were not. It seems that the best results may be found after 1 yr, after the the strips have been applied every 3 months. With that being said, this is a great bang for your buck, instead of buying 12 - 30 day applications, you only have to buy one. I would recommend this the casual teeth whiteners out there, but if you have an important event fast approaching stick witht he Crest Premiums.
I got lucky enough to be chosen to test out this product, an boy am I glad I did.
As previous members have posted have posted issues with sensitivity I had myself also experienced the same, but it is highly expected because my teeth have always been sensitive so this is nothing out of the ordinary for me. I have previously tried the regular strips which you do multiple treatments, this 2hr express I think is MORE effective for me - only because I occasionally forget to do x number of days out of the regular treatment so the outcome is always varied.
Price is reasonable - still less than what you would pay at the dentist for some of the treatments they would give you for whitening and just as effective I find. Great product, fair price! My teeth were atleast 2 shades lighter after I finished one treatment. Thank you for the opportunity to use this product and I look forward to continued use!!
I receieved the Crest 3D White Whitestripes as part of a Chick Advisor review and was really looking forward to brightening my smile. I've always wanted to try a teeth whitening product, but the high cost has always put me off, and unfortunately will probably continue to in the future. Needless to say, I was not impressed.
The process - I made sure to follow the instructions to the letter, the only problem is that the strips didn't fit me at all. I found the strips were WAY too big for my teeth and hung over my gums, making it seem as if I was wearing a mouth-guard. It's nearly impossible to keep them clear of saliva so I could taste the bleaching product the entire time, I wore these for about 30 minutes until I couldn't take it anymore. I didn't notice sensitivity that short a time period but the irritation of saliva getting stuck between my teeth was too extreme.
The results - As I only had them on for 30 minutes, I noticed no recognizable results. I am not a smoker though and my teeth are only slightly discoloured, so this may not have helped me regardless.
The verdict - I would probably refer to a dentist before trying a teeth cleaning product like this in the future, it seems that I could be doing more harm than good as the chemicals are so freely flowing around my mouth.
I received the 3D Crest Whitestrips 2 hour express to try and was disappointed with them. I felt that the instructions were lacking in detail, and had to search online as to how to use the strips (I had never used any before). I didn't like the fact that I had to wear the strips for 2 hours, as I had to keep spitting the peroxide gel out of my mouth. The strips did seem to stay in place, but I felt like a bit of saliva was getting under the strips. The results: my teeth did not seem any whiter than they were prior to using the white strips. I had to brush my teeth (with only water) afterward to remove the gel from my teeth. My teeth really hurt after using the whitestrips, and it wasn't until the next morning (wearing sensitive toothpaste in my night guard) that they felt ok again. It has been about a week since I have used the Crest 3D Whitestrips 2 hour express, and I think my teeth are a bit whiter, but I would still not use them again because of how much pain I was in immediately after using them.
I was excited to try this product but overall I was dissapointed and I would not buy this product. I did not like the way that this product went on my teeth. I felt like it was not big enough to cover my teeth properly (maybe I just have big teeth lol). I also did not find that my teeth looked any whiter.
I received the Crest3D 2 Hour Express Strips a few weeks ago from the wonderful peeps at ChickAdvisor to try out and review. I was a little wary because I've had some issues with sensitivity in the past, so I decided to hold onto my trial package for a couple weeks while I diligently brushed my teeth with sensitivity toothpaste hoping to eliminate any issues that might arise.
I finally decided to try these out on a boring Saturday afternoon......but also decided that I was only going to use one strip on my upper teeth to start out........I'd rather have half my teeth be extremely sensitive, than all of them!! Anyway, the instructions were fairly simple. The package comes with 4 small foil inserts, each with a top and bottom strip that can be applied once every 3 months.......therefore, each box has a full year supply. I applied the upper strip and watched some tv and had a shower to pass the time. 2 hours wasn't exactly horrible.....but it wasn't great either. You can definitely feel the strip in your mouth the whole time and sometimes some of the goop would get out, which tasted horrible. I can't really say that I had many issues while wearing the strips.......my teeth didn't seem to bother me at all.
The results however, were less than awesome. I have mildly yellow teeth.......though I'm a diligent brusher and flosser and don't smoke or drink coffee or wine..........my dentist said some people just have more yellowish teeth....unfortunately. Anyway, because of my current teeth hue, I was super excited to try these and hoping for some good results, as whitening treatments at the dentist office can be very costly. 2 hours on the dot, I pulled off my stripes and eagerly looked in the mirror........and what I saw in my reflection was the EXACT same smile I had before the strips. I even brushed my teeth to get all the leftover gunk off........but still couldn't notice any difference at all. Bummer :(
My teeth didn't seem to be bothering me, which made me quite happy.......however, after a nap and dinner I started to feel a dull ache in all of my front teeth. It slowly intensified until drinking anything other than luke warm tap water became an issue. I really noticed how sensitive they'd become when I was outside and the aching increased everytime I opened my mouth and the cool fall air hit my teeth. I've taken a couple advil since then and am crossing my fingers that the sensitivity doesn't get any worse.
Overall, I found this to be a not awesome product. I didn't have to pay for it, but if I did, I'd have been extremely disappointed. The price is fairly high, and after looking at my teeth over and over, I still can't see ANY changes at all........except, of course, for the throbbing pain and sensitivity. Though I very much appreciated being able to try these, I definitely will not be purchasing these in the future.....unless I have a craving for a $60 toothache :S
Coffee & red wine - and I'm not giving them up! So my teeth need a bit of refreshing now and then. I hate the feeling of trays and the film that wraps your teeth if its goopy. I know ads say you and put them on and just go on with your life, but I can't - I hate the taste and the feel. In the past I've tried the regular Crest strips which I found made me a bit sensitive/achy - so I had switched to a sensitive toothpaste and used them 1x/day. This worked for me - but its 28 days! I also tried the dentist trays with gel which you keep on for a short period. I did that every second day. I had no sensitivity there. I definitely won't try the zoom-treatments!
Since I don't like the discomfort of whitening processes, I welcomed a product which was fast, easy and offered results. Here are my notes on the 3D Whitestrips:
* My teeth were not badly stained to begin with. The Results were good but not great: brighter and whiter but not a massive difference for me. And, the base parts of my lower teeth are still yellow-ish.
* I used Crest ProHealth sensitive shield toothpaste for 5 days prior to using the strips and also brushed my teeth 5-6 hours before using the product. I did both as precautions for sensitivity. I probably also wouldn't use them until about 3 days after a dental visit... same reasons.
* Reading The Instructions: I am diligent about reading instructions...and there were not many with this product. The instructions were easy to follow, but I think I would have liked a bit more about the product, tips etc. It should say wash hands immediately after applying (so you don't touch anything you can bleach like clothing, furniture etc), how excess gel should be removed after whitening, whether we should avoid staining agents in the next few hours/days for best results, and it shouldn't say 'wear once a day for 2 hours' under reveal as this can lead to misuse. I'd love to see a little shade chart put into each box... so people can measure their results.
* Putting It On: The two strips come on one plastic card and are easy to differentiate (top/bottom). They came off the card easily and I was careful to handle them minimally and by my nails only in putting them on. I had a harder time with the bottom teeth than the top: my gumline varies at the bottom which would mean that either I would have a line marking on some teeth where the whitening ended OR I would have to apply the strip against my gum in some areas. I aimed for middle ground - with the strip directly touching my gum in places.. For the top strip, I found that it barely made it from the gum line around the bottoms of my front teeth. I don't think I have big Osmond teeth, so I think a little bigger area in the front would help and keep the backing stuck on. My teeth are also not perfectly even, so I had to be careful to get the product adhered to the angles. Generally there was good adherence except to the back of my front teeth where there isn't enough product to 'hang on'.
* The Process: I'm actually doing this review in real time... wearing the strips. My tongue got a bit tingly after the first 1/2 hr since it had no where to go other than to that ledge where the strips barely made it around my top front teeth. One hour in... no gum or teeth sensitivity. 15 min into the second hour - a mild dull throb began. Also one there is a loose bit on the top right... I guess I was so focused on my front teeth, that I didn't push this down against my teeth snugly at the beginning. 15 minutes to go... no changes or pain. 5 minutes to go... no additional discomfort, slightly numb tip of tongue... wow the 2 hrs went fast while I was watching TV and reading! It was not goopy or sloppy, though it felt a bit strange not swallowing much during that time... you are aware of it all the time. The strips came off easily with a good tug. Since there were no directions of what to do next, I brushed my teeth with my sensitive-teeth toothpaste to get the remnants of the goop off. All feels good! I will add an update tomorrow if I get any pain this evening or during the night.
* The Cost: is actually decent since its amortized over a year - or two years if you use it every 6 months like I will ... brightening up for the holidays and then again for the beginning of summer. Or you buy it with a friend and split the cost. I think the cost could be reduced at least a little to make it more accessible. But there are much more expensive treatments out there.
Whiter teeth somehow makes me look younger and healthier. I will be sharing these with my husband... he has more whitening to do than me. I would use this again for the convenience and how it stayed put - but I didn't think it whitened more than the old Crest strips.
A couple of other notes - the box is much bigger than the product - but I get it - its about marketing and product placement/ visibility in the store. Since this box size is unlikely to change, Crest could use this opportunity to offer clients a mini-size of their sensitivity toothpaste or one to maintain the whitening (from their Vivid line). I see this as an opportunity to cross-sell and get people interested in their products. Also, if I saw the product in the store, I would not notice that its 4 treatments/ 1 year for the cost... I would make that more visible on the packaging.
Disclosure: Tried this product as part of the review club - so I received the product for free but with no strings attached to my review. Thanks Crest! Thanks Chicks!
After whitening, I went outside in cool fall air, drank chilled martinis, ate hot food... no problems. The area where I had the mild throb during the application has a bit of 'pressure' not quite pain. The funny part is that its further back than the strips went. More than 24 hrs after the application, I got sudden pain in the tops of my lower teeth and the bottom of my top teeth...it was quite painful but not long lasting. I brushed with toothpaste for sensitive teeth and I was okay again. Other than whitening I never have sensitive teeth.
