These whitestrips does the job............ if you're patient enough and have a high tolerance
I started feeling discomfort half and hour in and I endured it for 1 hours and 10 minutes.. before i decided to rip off the strips.
Without fulfilling the 2 hour requirement, i didn't expect to see extreme results
but at 1 hour, it already did the trick of making it whiter, noticeably (thumbs up for this!)
thumbs down for
- 2 hours of discomfort. I've tried the 14-day crest whitestrips and found it easier to bare because it was only for 30 minute intervals each time. the downside for the 14 days is the commitment of time. But since there wasn't any discomfort, each 30 minute passed by fast. for these 2 hours strips though, i dreaded every minute...
even so, i'm happy with the results
i'm glad its a once a month treatment and i would recommend it to someone who want whiter teeth
they just have to be mentally prepared!!
I did not care for these at all. I was lucky enough to get a package to try through the Product Review Club. I found them quite easy to apply and the definitely stayed 'stuck' on my teeth. Perhaps it's because I don't have too much experience with teeth whitening but I thought these were very uncomfortable and tasted awful. It was very challenging to keep them on for two hours. I eventually made it through the two hours and removed the strips. They left a thick gel layer of gunk. I rubbed it off my teeth and went in for a closer examination only to find my teeth looked exactly the same. I'm not sure why but I could not notice any change. As soon as I rinsed my mouth with water I noticed the increased sensitivity. Therefore, for the price, discomfort and lack of results I would not purchase these in the future.
I received Crest 3D White Whitestrips 2-Hour Express strips and I was really excited to try them. I have tried white strips in the past and I was pleased with the results. You get four packages of strips (top and bottom strips are included in one package) which ends up being a years supply because you use 1 package (two strips) once every 3 months. The strips stay on your teeth for 2 hours, hence the name. So basically you get whiter teeth four times a year for 8 hours in total. Not too shabby, huh?
I first noticed that the strips were thicker. I appreciated this because the older version strips were thin and felt a little flimsy on my teeth. When I applied these strips they felt secure on my teeth.
As I mentioned, you keep the strips on for 2 hours. I found doing the old strips twice a day for 30 minutes each was a big commitment. This way, you slap the strips on when you're bumming around the house and get it over with. Although, the 2 hours did drag.
As soon as the 2 hours were up, I jumped up and almost ran to the bathroom. When I went to take them off, they didn't slide off easily. You have to tug on them a bit. I didn't mind this because at least I knew the strips were really on my teeth well.
I wasn't too sure what to do when the strips were off. They leave some residue on your teeth and they did not cover that in the instructions. I wet my toothbrush a little and lightly buffed the gel like whitening stuff off. No harm, no foul.
I noticed that my teeth were considerable whiter. More than just a couple shades which made me really happy.
I didn't experience any pain during or after having the whitening strips on which is odd because I have sensitive teeth. I have heard of people experiencing pain after the whitening process so I'm glad I didn't.
At around $75 for one box (with a years supply of whitening strips), they are expensive. But I think white teeth help with ones confidence and it is something that people notice.
I plan on maintaining my new white smile with the Crest 3D white toothpaste, mouthwash and toothbrush.
The aesthetics of the packaging are eye catching but more than half of the package is basically unused so I definitely think the packaging could be smaller.
All together, a definite buy!
Let me just start off my review of these strips by saying these are ones that will finally stay on my teeth! I've had problems with whitestrips before; something about them made them impossible to stay on my teeth. These ones have an advanced grip, and they stayed on my teeth for the full two hours - no adjusting!
I dislike the foaming and I always think I'm going to end up swallowing some of the peroxide, but I was brave enough to try swallowing (since having the strips in does create a lot of saliva) and didn't taste any of the gel. Bonus! I guess that's more proof the seal works!
My teeth are slightly whiter, but I may need to do another strip on my upper/lower in a few months to see how much whiter my teeth will get. I do still have some slight yellowing, but for two hours, that's pretty darn good! If I smile with my teeth clenched, you don't see any of the yellow. I guess that's the effect we're looking for. I'm happy with it! The only yellow I can see that might need more work is the yellowing close to my gumline. These strips are meant to sit right at your gumline which is where I had them. I won't say it did nothing to my gumline, because it did - it whitened it a little, but not to a true white. They're just lighter than they were before.
The packaging is a little big for what actually comes in the box, but there are two compartments so the instructions won't be lost within the strips. There are four treatments in one box, so you're good for a full year! You're meant to use these once every three months if you want, but no more than that. So far, my teeth are not sensitive. That's a good sign! If you already have sensitive teeth, be careful using peroxide... hot and cold may become painful for a few days. If your teeth are normal and non-sensitive like mine, I don't have a problem with sensitivity right now, so you probably won't either. The instructions are great and very easy to follow. They give you tips to put them on so that there's a better grip, and assistance for taking the strips off. When I took mine off, they were stuck on my teeth very well. I did have to tug a little, but they came out pretty easy.
In my pictures I posted for this review, you'd be able to tell which one's the before and which one's the after. You'll notice white spots on my teeth in the after photo; Crest says this is normal and it will go away within a few hours. So, don't worry!
Overall, this worked better than any other strip I've used and I'd definitely buy it again. The pack lasts me a year? Yes please!
For some reason, my pictures didn't post... sorry about that! I hope my explanation above was enough.
As soon as I got my samples, I immediately started to peel, apply and reveal as per the instructions. I took note of the easy-to-follow instructions and applied the strip to my lower teeth then my upper teeth. I immediately noticed that the "bond" to my teeth was much stronger than the regular whitening strips I was used to. The strips did not slip or move around which was great! I tried my best to leave the strips on for 2 hours but unfortunately, I felt a bit of tingling sensation on my lips (must have gotten some peroxide on my lips) and some sensitivity to my teeth so had to remove the strips after about 1.5 hours. Compared to the regular strips (i.e. non-express), these ones were a bit harder to remove but it was by no means difficult at all. I noticed a difference in colour right away - even my husband commented on how bright my teeth looked. However, I would probably not use this product often as I found that my teeth were extremely sensitive and borderline uncomfortable afterward.
I am happy with the results of this product.
The strips are easy to use, although 2 hours was a long time to have something stuck to your teeth. They did make my teeth more sensitive and were a little tough to remove because of the increased sticky (compared to other Crest whitening versions).
I am an avid coffee and wine drinker, as such my teeth had a yellow tinge prior to using this product. My teeth are noticeably whiter where I placed the strips. As this product is only designed to work only on natural enamel, my teeth exposed to the strips are whiter, but the area where I have a partial filling did not whiten, resulting in one bi-colored tooth.
As for sensitivity – I did experience temporary sensitivity (and I don’t have sensitivity teeth) in the area where the strips were placed both during usage and for about 6 hours following the use of the product.
I would recommend this product to both friends and family who do not have sensitive teeth, as it was easy to use and the results were noticeable.
I was very excited to be chosen to review this product and anxiously awaited its arrival. Once it arrived I almost immediately put the set of strips on.
They were very easy to apply, the gel is quite sticky and it definitely helped because they did not budge at all and made cleaning and doing every day tasks really easy! Unlike the regular white strips, which slip and slide on and off your teeth during the duration of the whitening process.
After the two hours I took them off and I could notice a difference in my teeth. They were at least one shade whiter and it felt great! I am not someone who smokes or has very yellow teeth but this definitely gave me a nice boost in my smile and I am proud to flaunt my bright smile now!
After a couple of hours after taking the strips off I did notice some medium amount of sensitivity, which is normal and should go away within a couple of days at most.
I would definitely reccomend this product to everyone and they give a nice and quick boost in my smile. Surely this is a product I will keep repurchasing!
Smile on!
I was more than excited to be picked to review the Crest 3D White Whitestrips 2-hour Express and waited in anticipation for my package to arrive! Yesterday the day had finally come and a rather hairy (facial) creepy possible drunk delivery man knocked (if you would call falling into my door knocking) on my door and delivered my review package! Without a pen and me weary of him I shut my door grabbed a pen ran back and signed for my package.
I was quite busy yesterday and by the time it was delivered I had only 1.5 hours before picking up my children from school so that wasn't the best time to test it out! Of course after school became dinner and then dessert along with baths and bedtime stories. Before I knew it it was 11:00pm and I was beat. I decided I would wait until today to put them to the test!
After dropping of my children at school I came home to my comfy office where I work from home and popped on the strips! 2 hours on while working easy peasy. There were a few times during the 2 hours I was surprised with a little ZING! like if you bit on some aluminium foil but no irritation while wearing them.
My 2 hours was up and I was FREE to pull those suckers off! Now I am a smoker so my teeth before (I use Crest 3D white and ProHealth Toothpaste currently) were on the yellow side. When I peeled off the strips I could see a difference :D Now my teeth are not Hollywood white nor did I expect them to be but the improvement is amazing and I cannot wait to see what they will look like in the coming weeks now that they are whiter and continuing on with my Crest 3D toothpaste. As well in 3 months I will use the strips again and I am sure my teeth will only continue to get whiter!
There is a small downfall to the strips but not everyone will experience this of course as I have friends in the review who didn't. After taking the strips off (it's been about 3 hours off now) I am having slight-medium sensitivity! Especially while eating or drinking I get that ZING! every now and then but the pamphlet says it's normal for some to experience this and that it will go away and is not harmful so I am sure it is just temporary.
All in all these strips get 10 fingers up from me and I am sure once my better half sees my new pearly whites he will add another 10 fingers up!
I suggest anyone who wants a quick white fix on their teeth to head out and pick up a box once every 3 months for 2 hours beats the daily strips any day!
Okay a tiny update I am about 7 hours post strips and I must say the sensitivity has gotten worse I some what want to rip my teeth out of my mouth ... ok its not THAT bad but I have taken an IB profen and it isn't really helping. It is quite annoying and I am not sure what to do to get it to stop lol! It is sensitive even though I am not eating or drinking anything. Even though I truly enjoy the results the after effects for me personally are out weighing the results. I would rather have less than white teeth I know beauty is pain but I am a baby :P
I really wasn’t sure how well the Crest 3D white 2-hour Express whitestrips were going to work for me because I have thinning enamel and I’m a smoker. But I’ve wanted to try any of the white strips for awhile now to see just how well they could, or couldn’t work for me. First I’d like to thank all of the ladies at ChickAdvisor for giving me the chance to try them. Thanks ladies you’re the best as always!
I usually have my teeth cleaned every three months, but because my Dentist office has been under construction since last Feb, I haven’t bin in since then. So this was prefect timing for me to try these new white strips because my teeth really could use some whitening. If you’ve never used any kind of white strip before, they can be a bit tricky to apply and it might take you a few tries to get all of your teeth covered correctly. If you don’t have perfectly straight teeth like mine, it can also be a bit tricky to have the strips cover the entire surface of your teeth. Also like I mentioned, if you’re a smoker like I am you are not suppose to smoke during the two hours that you have the strips on your teeth. This might be hard for some to do, but if you keep yourself busy you should be fine. I did some baking to help pass the time. If you really can’t do with out a smoke for the two hours, then perhaps a different type of white strip would be better suited for you. I found that after I had them on they felt a little odd and they seemed to make my mouth water a lot. It wasn’t enough to make me want to remove them before the time was up, but it was a bit irritating. I’m not sure if this was an effect from the whitening substance, or if it was just me. They also seemed like they bubbled up a lot around the outer surface of the strips after being on for about an hour, witch could be what was causing my mouth to water. This also caused the strips to lift away from the parts of my teeth that aren’t perfectly straight. When the time was up I had no trouble removing either strip from my teeth, but I did feel the need to brush them right away because they felt like there was something like a glue substance left in some places. After brushing my teeth I took a good look to see just how well the Crest 3D 2-Hour Express Whitestripes worked for me. Where the strips stayed on nice and tight I did see a big difference in how white my teeth were. This was mostly around the gum line. How ever where my enamel has thinned on the lower parts of my teeth they weren’t near as white, but there was still a noticeable difference in how white they were from before I started. I think it would be easier if someone else did the comparing instead of myself because they could be more objective, but over all the new Crest 3D 2-Hour Express Whitestrips did a pretty good job for me. As to whether I’d buy them, I think they’d have to be on sale at a really good price for me to spend that kind of money on something just for me. I don’t feel comfortable spending that much money on something the whole family can’t use and it’s just not something that is in my budget right now.
