Muted Vanilla Taste

I very much enjoy Crown Royal as a regular everyday whisky. The vanilla sounded promising but ended up falling flat. The vanilla flavor is muted by the whisky taste and even on the nose it is hardly detectable.

Not bad, for a vanilla rye.

I really like Crown Royal and would have preferred to try a different flavour but this is what I was given. I am not much of fan of vanilla flavoured anything - it's usually overly sweet or fake tasting. This isn't bad though, it's a fairly sedate vanilla. I mixed it with Coke and added lime and quite enjoyed it. I wouldn't buy a regular size bottle of it unless it was for a very specific cocktail for a large party... but I wouldn't drink it on a regular basis.
