Nice idea, even if not durable
Okay, so this product was used for about a year and a half before something went terribly wrong. All of a sudden, the clear panel over the LCD (clock/timer display) filled up with condensation and was unreadable. A few days after that, the circuit board failed and my Grind and Brew stopped working altogether.
Okay, stuff happens and I can deal with it, but their customer/tech support leaves a lot to be desired. In the end my only option was long drive to a certified repair site. I was offered a supposed newer model as a replacement, at a modest fee. It does the job but does not have many of the features of my original machine. I will make my decision about future purchases based on the longevity of the replacement.
To sum it up, sometimes simpler is better. Yes, it's nice to have freshly ground coffee, and this is quite convenient (even though it can be a bit fiddly to clean - maybe a separate grinder is better). Just be careful with it and hope you never have to deal with their customer service/tech support.
PS. 9 months after the blade recall (certain models of food processors), I have yet to receive my replacement blade. American customers got theirs by February (as reported by a US friend).
