Fantastically rich and delicious cakes, nice change from the ordinary. The only thing is they are a little inconvenient to store and transport unless you have a good bit of freezer space. Still love them!
All my families Birthdays we have bought DQ ice cream cakes for the kids perfer ice cream over cake. The best part of the cake is the middle. Love the cute pictures that are on top of the cakes. Even non special occasions it's nice to have in the freezer for those hot days and you just want to melt into it.
My son picks DQ birthday cakes for his birthdays because it's a cake made of ice-cream, yum, perfect for summer. I like it because it's not expensive, I can pick the size, shape, flavor, order it about a week in advance and it's ready on the day, and best of all - the DQ I go to has always been able to customize the cake icing image with his chosen theme every year we've ordered! (eg one year it was an angry birds theme and his cake matched the decor) Theme availability varied per store though, we learnt that the hard way, so we stick with the store with the most licensed themes. As for transporting it we got a large cooler bag (coz some indoor kids places don't have a fridge) was fine for us for an hour of playtime before they break to eat, just keep the bag cool and closed.
We always buy Dairy Queen Ice Cream Cakes for our Birthday Party! My family loves different kinds. The taste is amasing. It is a real and delicious ice cream.
Although I enjoy the fudge & cookie centre, I can't justify the price of the ice cream in cake form. I suppose I prefer traditional cake with a scoop of ice cream.
It is hard to find a good medium of thawing the cake in order to cut it without struggling and yet not have it melting everywhere.
The icing the use is quite disgusting that even my 3 year old spits it out.
The design options are cute but amateur. I guess for a last minute cake, they suffice as most people I know enjoy them.
So I am a Gramma with grandkids and they drag me to DQ for a dairy queen cake at least once a year. I understand their fascination with it, and for kids, it is great. Personally, I found the cake way too sweet and gummy. My other friends, averaging my age and younger (I'm 59) felt it was too sweet and artificially flavoured. However the kids love it and it made my weekend with them a hit. I feel bad feeding them so much sugar, but either way they were going to want a treat, this was the easiest one, it was made, quick to purchase and take home.
i loveeee Dairy Queen cakes. Ive been purchasing them for my birthdays for almost 10 years now, i let the cake defrost for about 5-10 minutes before serving at my birthday parties. My favourite part is the fudge and cookie in the middle, so good.
I decorate cakes as a hobby but when it comes around to my own birthday, there is no way im amking my own cake. DQ is always my family's go to for my birthday and i love it! Although infind their cakes are a little expensive, they are soooo delicious and worth every penny.
I absolutely LOOOVEEE dairy Queen cakes!! I must admit they are incredibly expensive but it does take time and money to make them so I can understand that! They're absolutely delicious. For sure recommended :)
I love dq cakes! The middle fudge part is my favorite!!!!! My only wish is that you could decorate the blizzard cakes. Right now they won't do that. I think it would be pretty easy to do.
