Dairy Queen Cakes have always been the "best" picks when it comes to Ice Cream Dessert options for all kinds of occasions in our family. Whether it was a birthday, graduation or other milestone celebration, Dairy Queen Ice Cream Cake was always the most requested option and really never dissapointed us in terms of taste, quality and obviously the personalization added major bonus points! I am not a fan of chocolate ice cream or fudge and despite the fact that the cakes had that component I always felt that eating the "white vanilla" part was worth it regardless! Craziness, right?
When I realized that Dairy Queen Cakes were now available in "blizzard flavors" I was over the moon and in a matter of seconds I already knew what my pick would be - Strawberry Cheese Quake, hands down!!! I was so excited about the news that I knew I wasn't about to wait for a "special occasion" to treat my crew to something that delicious so last weekend the DQ Cake was ordered, picked up, delivered and devoured in a simple and completely delicious "Happy Saturday" party!.
I knew it was going to be great - its a blizzard after all! I have never-ever had a sub-par ice cream dessert at the Dairy Queen so there was no doubt that we were in for a treat! However the blizzard cake was AMAZING and quite possibly the BEST dessert of our lives - so much so that I almost regretted sharing its goodness with everyone...A cake that made me feel greedy WOW!
It was creamy, true to its flavor, luscious, rich but not overly sweet, stuffed to the brim with strawberries, cheesecake pieces, graham crust crumbles and blended perfectly, beautifully designed and good to the very last drop!
I have a feeling that from now on every cake in our house will be compared to this Dairy Queen perfection - and it will lose no matter how its made or where it came from...But that's OK - it just means that all of our cakes will now have to be DQ Blizzard Cakes! And that is more than OK with me!

I was so happy to have been selected for the DQ Cake review. It was so easy to order online and I had them put "Welcome Back to School Caleb" on it since we didn't have anyone having a birthday this month. I had ordered a Skor Blizzard DQ cake and my husband and two little boys loved it. It was ready for pick up the next day. It is one of my favorite cakes and it was such a treat and great opportunity to share with my family. I had no issues with the ordering, selection, message, pick up and they did a great job on the cake overall. I would definitely tell all my friends and family to get their next cake from DQ and order it online. Thank you so much!!!

Got this offer with the $35 gift card.Wow I was sooo excited.My hubby's birthday was the 20th so I went online and designed a cake perfect for my hubby.He loves Star Trek so I had them add a symbol of this show.The cake was delicious and made his Birthday perfect.When I went to pick it up there was no wait and went very smoothly.

My daughter's birthday was on the 17th of September so it couldn't have come at a better time. She loves ice cream cakes!
I first want to tell you how disappointed I was when I went to the store closest to me online. That store did not have many cakes to order. I then tried to order from the DQ by my husband's work only to find they had a few more cakes but also were limited. I finally went to the last DQ that we would have easy access to in the town next door to us that is a bit further to get to but not so bad as we shop there often. This store surprisingly had mounds of choices! ( I might add it is a mall location and is very small)
We found the perfect cake to order and ordered it for my daughter's birthday a week away.
I appreciated the receipt sent to my email as I lose things and forget things often.
The night of my daughter's birthday we went and picked the cake up. It was ready and made just the way I ordered it. Beautiful!
The cake was delicious! Kids loved it!
We will definitely do the online order thing again. It made our cake ordering that much easier and we were able to be secretive about it! Having 5 kids, it is hard to surprise any of them as one always finds out and tells the others!
I just hope the next time I order online the store close to us has more choices!

I tried to order online, but my local Dairy Queen doesn't allow for online ordering yet, so that was a challenge, so I ventured into the store as I couldn't find what I was looking for online.

I picked a Barbie accessory pack for the cake and crossed my fingers that it would be perfect as I opted for a round cake instead of the slab that was featured. The staff were very friendly courteous and helpful. I was able to pay the the cake (re: giftcard supplied for review) on the spot and my order was marked paid.

The pickup day came the cake was perfect! Ready and waiting with no hassle at all. Perfect for a busy 8 year old's birthday party :D The birthday girl was thrilled with the surprise and we all loved the cake. It was delicious!

I was really happy when I was selected to test the DQ cakes from the Chickies at Chick Advisor, as this has been one of my most fun testing experiences that I was able to share with my family.

I ordered a Blizzard Cake online, which serves 10-12 people and it was awesome timing as we had a random dinner party with my close family- a perfect day to end the meal with an ice cream cake!

The first time I went on the site to order, the site was a bit slow in reacting to my commands, but upon refreshing the page, everything worked out fine. What I absolutely LOVED was the simplicity of the website. With a handful of options, it wasn't overwhelming for me to select what I wanted. I believe that if there were 100 more things to do and change with my cake, there would've been more room for confusion and possible error. Having the website focus on a few key customization options, made my life easier (and the ordering process) easier.

The in-store pick up experience was good and I was given my cake. It was accurate to what I ordered online and I paid using the generous gift card that was provided for me from Chick Advisor.

The cake was a huge hit with my family, as we have never had an icecream cake presented for dessert. It was definitely tasty and amazing quality. My local DQ impressed me.

We will definitely be ordering the cake again and I won't stop recommending DQ to my family and friends...

When I found out I was selected by Chick Advisor to review a Dairy Queen Cake I was so excited. I have never tried their cakes before so I was very curious about how they might taste.

Oh how quickly does one's expectations fail when dealt with poor customer service and misrepresentation.

So I went through the whole ordering process on the Dairy Queen site. Browsed the decent variety of cakes and DQ Blizzard cakes they had. I came across the MINT Oreo DQ blizzard cake and was set that was the one I wanted to order for my Birthday It was a very easy site to use and simple quick order process. It took two days between ordering to when I was to pick up my Mint Oreo Blizzard Cake.

So I had my father pick up the cake for me since he was available at the time I selected. He had no clue what the cake was supposed to look like. So when I checked it out in the freezer I was shocked to see what was in there. The cake looking NOTHING like the picture on the Dairy Queen site. It looked like a regular Oreo DQ Blizzard cake. (See photo I uploaded with Mint Oreo text under the picture).

So I called DQ's 1-866 # spoke to a lovely women who said I should go back to the store and get the cake I ordered. Went back to the store the rude staff said NO This is a Mint Oreo cake even though it doesn't look like it. Excuse me? So I'm supposed to just accept the cake they want to hand me even though its not what I ordered? I regretfully go back home disappointed and mad. So I make a second call to their 1-866 # and got nowhere with them. Then get this the store manager I assume called my house and my father picked up and he told him in a rude demeaning manner that that IS A MINT CAKE and asked him is it not minty enough for him!? Then my father replied well we have yet to try it. He snappily replied back WELL I CAN MAKE IT MINTER FOR YOU!! I WILL COME PICK IT UP BUT IF I JUST MAKE ANOTHER ONE IT WILL LOOK THE SAME. Then he went on to say how the cake images are "artists renditions" and that they don't look like the pictures. My father feeling threatened refused his "offer" to make us a new cake or the odd offer of making it more minty (not quite sure how they do that!).

All in all what a sad moment in customer service this was a small store in my town with no seating just a counter. I can only imagine that other DQ stores would be better but this one was very close and being it was an Ice Cream Cake we wanted to order from the closest store possible to avoid a melted cake.

So since nothing came of our order we ended up having it and it wasn't minty at all it had a slight note of mint but majority of the cake was regular Oreo. Its as if they just added mint flavoring. The cake had no sign of green mint ice cream cake. It was gray,black and white cake. With Chocolate frosting and fudge. This cake was a fail.

Based on my experience I with regret have been turned off by Dairy Queen and will not purchase a cake here and stick to other brands. I cannot recommend a friend visit here either.

I was one of the members selected to receive and review a DQ Custom Blizzard Cake. I hosted a CFL party on Saturday and had a house full of hungry men, so was happy to hear that I had one less item to prepare for the party. I chose to have a customized Mint Oreo Blizzard Cake made in advance for the party. I pre-ordered the cake online and was somewhat disappointed with the lack of available customization options. I had the option to add text (limited characters), and select color and type of frosting for text. I was hoping for at least an image database, much like their in store flip book, but was sadly disappointed. this limited customization was met with bland reviews at the party. The taste however was delicious, as expected, and everyone loved it. I served approx 12 hungry men with the large cake, with plenty to spare.

The in store experience was dry, as I was met by muttering teenagers unable to look a customer in the eye. unfortunately this is the new norm for said generation anyway. I did receive my cake in a timely manner and was in and out the door within just a few minutes which was nice.

overall, I would certainly purchase a DQ blizzard cake again, however I would order the cake in store to give myself more control over the customizing options. The price of DQ cakes are known to be high in comparison to store-brand ice cream cakes, of which I cannot compare in taste as I have not sampled others

The first time I went on the site to order, I was a bit confused by the process and there didn't seem to be a large selection of cakes. However, upon going in a second time, the site appeared to be a bit more functional & reacting to my commands.
The in-store pick up experience was good and was given my cake, paid & was out the door in no-time. The cake was really enjoyed with everyone, especially on a sunny day out on the patio! It was of very good quality and definitely tasty. It wasn't our first time ordering a DQ cake but we had only ordered Traditional cake previously before.
We will definitely be ordering the cake again and I thought it was also a perfect desert for a special occasion with friends. I know the friends who were present enjoyed it & 1 already mentioned they would order a similar cake for one of their children's birthday!

I was so happy to be selected as a reviewer. I ordered the cake online to share with a family of 8. The kids love the Oreo Blizzard, so I ordered a Oreo Blizzard Cake. The online ordering was very easy, but I was confused about the differences between a DQ Cake and a Blizzard Cake. They seem very similar to me. There were a lot of choices of the Blizzard Cake and they all look great. However, when I clicked on the DQ Cake selection, only one showed up. I am not sure whether it's because of my store selection or because there are not that many choices of DQ Cake. The cake itself tasted great and the quality is excellent. The only downside is that it is too sweet to my liking. Other than that, it is literally like eating a Blizzard in a cake form. I would recommend using the online service because it's fast, easy, and convenient.
