I was delighted to receive the DQ giftcard to use on a dq icecream cake. We have had multiple ice cream cakes from dq but never a blizzard cake. We decided to order the Georgia mud fudge blizzard cake for our daughter's birthday. There were so many flavour options, it was hard to choose. The website was easy to navigate and personalizing the cake was easy. The cake flavour was excellent, just like the blizzard. The cake was ready as ordered, the staff was helpful and accommodating when I picked up the cake. I have recommended using dq website to order dq cakes, I will definitely use the website to order future dq cakes.

Thanks to Dairy Queen and Chick Advisor I got a fabulous gift card to order/test a DQ cake or Blizzard cake! It was a very pleasant surprise to be chosen to participate!! I ordered a Blizzard cake on Wednesday September 18th to pick up on Saturday September 21st(At 2p.m.). at my Local DQ in Aldergrove BC. The only option I had to customize my cake was whether or not I wanted writing on the cake and what color I wanted it written in. That was a little disappointing as I had hoped you would have a little more options for design. I ordered the cake as a reward for my 3 year old who has just been Potty Trained. I asked to have "Kaiden's Big Boy Cake" written on the cake in blue icing. I also asked in the comments section if they would please draw a Scooby Doo on the cake as there was no option for customization. When I ordered online, I was asked if I was using a gift certificate for the cake to specify. Since I was using the gift card provided by Dairy Queen for this review I specified that IN my order. I went to pick up my cake on Saturday at 6 p.m. Guess what guys... VERY disappointing... There was NO cake made for me. (Even more disappointing, my 3 year old's Face when I came home empty handed.) The girl seemed perplexed and asked how I placed the order. I told them I placed it online. Another girl went back and got who I am assuming was the manager? He told me he had no idea why the cake was not made. He told me the order was received and all the other cakes had been made except mine. He had no idea what was going on. He then offered me $3 off of any other cake they had premade in the freezer. To be honest, I found that this was COMPLETELY insulting. I then made it clear I had gotten this gift card to provide a review on the ordering process, the pickup as well as the cake itself. His response was a very bland "Oh no, that's not good." I said "No it really isn't." There was very little regard or concern for the fact that my order was not ready. The man then asked "What do you want me to do for you?" I told him I would like the cake made that I ordered because if it wasn't what I ordered it was defeating the purpose of the review. He said ok and assured me it would be ready for pickup Sunday by noon. Another employee interrupted our conversation very snidely to tell him she was opening and would not have time to do it. He still insured me it would be ready. He read back my order from his smart phone and asked if I was going to place my order again online, I said no that I shouldn't have to as long as he knows what my order is. I was really upset by the lack of concern, what if this was for a Birthday Party? I realize these cakes must take awhile to set but there was absolutely NO urgency in regards to fixing their huge mistake. What I find even worse, is the fact I specified in my order that this was for a review, if that is not reason enough to make sure everything runs smoothly, I am not quite sure what is. None of the staff seemed very apologetic and sympathetic at all, it was the complete opposite, like I was really just a thorn in their side which was also a very unwelcoming experience.

I called 20 minutes after the cake should have been ready for pickup to confirm it was ready... It was not - They told me that it would STILL be another 20-30 minutes. A call to tell me the cake would not be ready on time after they already did not make it the first time was adding a little more insult to injury. I arrived at around 5 p.m. hoping that it should ACTUALLY be ready by then. The same man (I am assuming manager) grabbed the cake and simply said "Here it is. I'll give you $3.00 off." I said "Oh gee thanks man...." I was annoyed but did not want to make a huge scene. I paid and left. No more apology - Absolutely Nothing. I even tried to make the situation lighter by stating the cake looked beautiful and my little guy would love it, nothing - I never even got a reply. I don't know who runs this place - but I have never experienced WORSE customer service in my entire life. We are LONG, LONG time customers of the local DQ. We have been ordering DQ cakes several times a year for birthday's for over 15 years. The customer service never used to be this bad.

So Despite the terrible DQ Staff at the Aldergrove BC Location and their lack of concern in regards to "Righting their Wrongs": WE ACTUALLY LOVE THE CAKE! It is gorgeous - it tastes delicious AS always. DQ does provide a quality product - it's too bad their franchise owners do not seem to abide by Dairy Queen's high standards. My son adored the cake - We got one of our favorites - Oreo Cheesequake! It is absolutely delicious and we would recommend the product at ANY OTHER LOCATION - With the exception of Aldergrove - and the only reason I say this - is because you can't be sure your cake will be ready for pickup or even made for your special occasion.

We were so happy to be chosen for the Dairy Queen cakes free promotion. We have been purchasing Dairy Queen cakes for years it's always the choice of my children for their birthday cakes. We had yet to try one of the blizzard EQ cakes so we tried a Rollo blizzard cake. We loved it. It was a very hard decision on which flavor we were going to try because they have so many wonderful choices. But we loved the one we got. The website was easy to use and easy to find information about each individual cake. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that you have to order two days I had a time to get the choice that you want. I would've preferred to be able to find out what my store has available today or tomorrow and pick from not selection. So when using the website it's a great idea if you think about it ahead of time but not so great if you're trying to pick up a cake for today or tomorrow. In the end we are very very happy and it was great to receive a free DQ cake

Thank you ChickAdvisor and Dairy Queen for giving me an opportunity to eat and review an amazing cake! After visiting Dairy Queen's website, I quickly honed in on the Skor Blizzard cake. Who could resist such a great combination of flavours? I'm sure I could have eaten the whole cake myself, but decided it would be a great opportunity to share with my team at work.
Ordering and pickup was easy, though walking through downtown Toronto on a hot autumn day with an icecream cake might not have been the best idea ;) It made it to the office in 15 minutes and was ready to eat! It was a hit and everyone loved it! The flavour was true to Skor Blizzard and the cake crumble and fudge layers added some interesting texture combinations. I won't be getting a raise anytime soon, but my colleagues are a lot happier these days. They must have all run out and got a cake of their own. I know I was ready to order again.

thank you chick advisor fo the chance to use this to celebrate my bday, the cake selection online was horrible. but i orderd a traditional cake and my only complaint is that it needs more choclate ice cream. pickup was very easy. i would recomend you check out the website if you dont see what you like go in store they have a book filled with cake ideas

I tried the new to me blizzard cake and it was good friends loved it. It was easy to order once their site was working. Pick up was also pleasant and easy to arrange.

I was thrilled to be selected to do this review. This could not have come at a better time we were celebrating my birthday that week. I choose a Turtle Pecan Cluster cake, and had it personalized. The online ordering process was simple. When we went to pick up the cake, the staff in the store were excellent. The cake was a huge hit, and tasted delicious. We would certainly order again. I was thrilled to be chosen for this review. It was perfect timing as it was my husbands birthday. I surprised him with a blizzard cake and it was amazing. He is not a big cake lover but he loved this cake, along with everyone else. The online ordering process was very simple and the cake was ready on time. It was great to be able to just run in and pick it up instead of spending time ordering it. I would order another cake for my next special occasion.

I was very excited to be chosen for the review! I had never tried a DQ cake and it was perfect timing as I had a end of summer BBQ coming up. Ordering online was simple, and my cake was ready the next day. I ordered an Oreo Blizzard cake and was not disappointed! Picking up in store was easy, and the cake was ready on time. The blizzard cake was a hit, and there wasn't a single crumb left! I would purchase another DQ cake because the experience was simple and painless and I wouldn't mind trying more flavors!

I was SO excited to be chosen for this review! We love DQ ice cream cakes in our household but don't usually purchase them because I enjoy cake baking and decorating. We decided that this cake would be the perfect opportunity to announce to our family that we are expecting baby #2! We ordered a traditional ice cream cake with a picture of my son holding a sign that read 'I'm going to be a big brother!" The ordering process was very simple, quick and easy. When we picked up the cake, it as ready on time, and I was thrilled with the detail and quality of the photo, It always amazes me how they get photos onto cakes like that! Once we presented the cake after dinner, everyone was thrilled, not only with our good news, but also with the cake. It was delicious as we always know them to be. I wouldn't hesitate to order another one of these in the future. My husband has already requested one for his upcoming birthday!
