I was selected to receive a free DQ ice cream cake as part of the Chick Advisor Product Review Club. I was picking the cake up for a congratulatory party we were having with friends. I went through the process of ordering the ice cream cake via the new online ordering system. I was disappointed that not all DQ locations were a part of the online system, so I wasn't able to select the closest location to me. The online ordering system was very easy to use, and didn't have any glitches or give me any problems. There were many cakes to choose from, although when looking at the blizzard cakes there were a few cakes I was interested in that actually weren't an option to choose from online. That being said, there were more than enough options to select from.

The online system requires you to give two days notice, but if you need the cake sooner, then call the DQ to make these arrangements. I needed a cake the next day (due to my procrastination), and noted this in my online order. I wanted to pick up at closing time on the Friday, but the earliest they would let me pick up was Saturday. Even though I talked to the store, they indicated that this was the way it works, no exceptions (politely).

I ended up cancelling my online order and purchasing a cake in store. The in-store selection was limited to three different blizzard cake flavours, and the traditional DQ ice cream cake. I chose the peanut butter cup blizzard cake. The cake was delicious, and was exactly what I was expecting in terms of a DQ ice cream cake. The amount of peanut butter cup on top was great, although I was disappointed that the blizzard layer of the cake was lacking the peanut butter cups. I was expecting the blizzard layer to have just as much of the candy in it as if I would have bought a blizzard, and it didn't. That being said, the presentation of the cake and the taste were great.

I would definitely recommend these cakes to others, and would likely buy one again. They are a bit on the expensive side, but compared to the average celebration cake bought in store, they are very comparable. The online ordering process is definitely an easy way to go about getting that special dessert for your party.

I received this product for free as part of the ChickAdvisor Product Review Club. I ordered the Chocolate Xtreme Blizzard cake, as it's my favorite flavor of Blizzard and never lets me down. The cake, however, did not live up to the Blizzard. It was okay, but I wouldn't order it again nor recommend it. I have had the traditional DQ ice cake, though, and it's always been one of my favorites. The selection of cake varieties was good, and I had a hard time choosing. When in doubt, go with traditional! I plan to order one for my daughter's upcoming birthday. If I were rating that product, it would definitely get a five, but I have to base this review on the cake I ordered this time.

The staff at the store was friendly and quick. No complaints whatsoever about the ordering/pickup process. The website is well designed and easy to use.

I was selected to receive a cake from Chick Advisor so my cake was complimentary, thank you! I ordered a DQ Cake with a motorcycle kit airbrush for my 4 year old son's birthday! I let him choose which cake he'd like, that was fun.
The selection was limited for specialized cakes although an ice cream cake is a hit without having your favourite image on it. I REALLY liked the option of uploading an image to your cake although the additional $10.00 fee did deter me from following through with it.
Unfortunately, when I went to pick up my cake, she said the internet had given me the wrong total of $29.00 that in fact with this selection it was $10.00 more, "Would that be okay?" I was surprised as I had selected the cake I chose because it fell within the budget.
The quality of the DQ cake was exceptional, tastes reliably delicious, I would order another cake for my next celebration, the glitch in the mispricing from the internet was not enough to turn me away from another ice cream cake. The option to order off the internet and pick up in store allows you to plan ahead so you can get exactly what you'd like. PERFECT!

the cake I ordered was for a going away to university for my niece, I had order the Oreo cookie crunch because, well who doesn't like Oreos. lol,, It was absolutely wonderful, and worth every penny. The ice cream was nice and smooth and with the crunch of the Oreo cookie it was a nice compliment to each other. The overall sweetness of the cake was not to much, and we even added a little extra caramel for a little more sweetness. I have had the DQ cakes in the past, but the kind that was ordered was not very good, and since I love their oreo blizzards so much, I thought I would give them another chance and order the Oreo Cake, I was very nicely surprised and not disappointed. I would order this cake again, and I would for sure recommend it to others.

I want to thank chick advisor for letting me try a DQ Ice Cream Cake for free. I ordered my cake the classic style. Although, next time I may have to choose from one of their many different varieties that they have. I have nothing but good things to say about my experience with DQ. The staff were very friendly when ordering and picking up my cake. The cake was great quality, as it is every time I buy a DQ ice cream cake. I ask for one for my birthday every year. I will definately buy this again and have recommended it to all of my friends and family!

Thank you Chick Advisor for selecting me to take part in a product review testing group for DQ Cakes. We ordered a traditional DQ cake. The cake selection was great and there was such a variety - a flavor that would make each member of the family happy. Our original cake choice was not available as the figurines for the cakes were on back order. The manager called me the next day and explained that he had tried getting them at another location, but all DQ stores had them on back order (Despicable Me). He then sent me a variety of pictures to choose from via email in which they could put an edible image on the cake. He was very apologetic and offered a small discount for our troubles. When we went to pick up our cake they could not find it. The manager was very sorry and offered to make a new cake and deliver it to our home - he even gave us a further great discount for our troubles. When he arrived to deliver the cake he explained that they had found the original cake and brought it with him to have us choose which design we liked better. The second cake was beautifully designed and in our minds we were happy for the mistake as it gave us a nicer cake. We did not have an actual occasion just a few friends together for dinner. The cake itself was great. Everyone loved the chocolate and vanilla ice cream but the best part was that crunchy fudge centre. I have three kids and it worked out perfectly as two like chocolate and one loves vanilla so I cut the slices in half to accomodate each with the flavour they wanted. The icing was perfect - it was light and not sweet and heavy like most cakes. We have already began thinking of what our next flavor of DQ cake will be for our next dinner party. Definitely would recommend this as a great dessert or treat to everyone I talk to. Thanks Chick Advisor!

Thank you ChickAdvisor Product Review Club for sending me a $35 DQ Cake gift card. I ordered a traditional 8” round DQ Cake. I loved the cake selection and varieties. It was a difficult choice since there were so many flavors of cakes and designs to choose! The round cakes come in two sizes that is 8” and 10”, and the sheet cake comes in 10” x 14”. I selected the Chocolate Xtreme cake and the in-store went very smoothly. I gave DQ a two day notice and went to pick-up the cake with no issues. I used the cake to celebrate a birthday and it is absolutely gorgeous. Everyone at the party enjoyed the visual appeal of the cake, as well as the taste. The quality of the cake is top-notch! The flavors are very fragrant and the cake is perfectly sweetened. I would definitely order another DQ Cake in the future. I also highly urge my friends to check out DQ’s Cakes and order online.

I recently ordered a DQ Blizzard Cake thanks to the Chick Advisor Product Review testing group. It was really hard to choose what to order with all of the yummy options but I went with an Oreo Cheesequake flavour. The pick-up went smoothly and the cake was ready on time. I loved that I was able to order ahead online and know exactly what I was getting. The cake was used to celebrate my birthday and although it was a little belated it was worth the wait. I'm not a fan of traditional cake so the ice cream version is generally all I get. I would absolutely order another cake online this way and plan to let my friends know that this is the way to go. Yummy!

I received a $35 gc to Dairy Queen to purchase an ice cream cake. It worked out well as my nephew was having a birthday. He is a big hockey fan so we selected a cake with the Canucks logo. They had a lot of cakes to choose from of various sizes. We went with a traditional ice cream cake. It was not a long wait to pay for the cake and have it personalized. The quality was very good. They stay frozen for a long time. On a warm day was worried about the car ride home. They cut very well and are very good tasting. The kids and everyone enjoyed it. Everyone loved the design of the cake. My nephew was very happy! I would definitely get this cake again and have recommended it to friends and family.

It was my son's 10th birthday today and I was lucky enough to get to review a DQ custom cake for free! He helped me pick it out and was super excited. It was easy to navigate the site, and they had many beautiful cakes to choose from but not too many "boyish" cakes. We ordered a traditional DQ cake but they also had blizzard cakes, tortes, logs, and blizzard cupcakes. It was hard to choose!! They all looked SO good. It said they needed 2 days lead time but I needed it the next day for his party so I called and they accommodated me with no problems. They were very nice when I picked up the cake and it looked wonderful, exactly as I had ordered. The taste was delicious as always - we have tried a few other ice cream shop cakes and none are as delicious as the traditional DQ cake with that chocolatey middle and yummy icing. It was a HUGE hit at his party and we will definitely order again.
