I tried the oreo blizzard cake. The plain vanilla ice cream leaves something to be desired. It is creamy howver more blizzard filling is essential to take it over the top. All in all, an average cake
It's relatively cheap but theres a lot of sugar!! You barely can taste anything else!
It's ice cream so theres a lot of flavour but mostly chocolate. It tastes fine but not the best!
My family loves Dairy Queen Cakes. I don't mind them but I find it quite rich. The taste is good. I mean who doesn't like ice cream. I find the price very expensive but I think ice cream is over-priced as it is. We do get the cakes for our families birthday parties so I guess it's a family favourite. Myself, I would rather have a cake and put the ice cream on top.
Well what can I say? This stuff is yummy! its bit expensive but worth every single penny. I buy this for my own birthday every year hahah! But common its yummy
I'm not so much a fan of the DQ ice cream cakes. I like the icing they use though. Decent price for a regular size. There's no different taste to it. I like their blizzards but not so much of the cakes.
We were celebrating a birthday and normally, we always pre-order the cake at a bakery but this time due to other commitments, I forgot to order the cake and the bakery did not have any extra cakes on hand. A Dairy Queen location was close by so I decided to pick up one of their ice cream cakes. We lit candles and shortly after, the cake melted. Not everyone liked it, and sadly, the cake was not a hit. Although I liked the middle part of the cake with the chocolate fudge, the price was expensive for the size. Because the cake melted, saving the leftovers was not an option. The cake tasted okay but definitely will stick with buying cakes from the bakery.I was surprised the cake melted as quickly as it did.
So I am a Gramma with grandkids and they drag me to DQ for a dairy queen cake at least once a year. I understand their fascination with it, and for kids, it is great. Personally, I found the cake way too sweet and gummy. My other friends, averaging my age and younger (I'm 59) felt it was too sweet and artificially flavoured. However the kids love it and it made my weekend with them a hit. I feel bad feeding them so much sugar, but either way they were going to want a treat, this was the easiest one, it was made, quick to purchase and take home.
I do recommend these cakes. As far as icecream birthday cakes go these are really great tasting but do not buy them any more because i find they are just way too expensive.
Although I do give DQ credit for making the ice cream cake a popular item, I am really not a fan of theirs. This is mostly because of the chocolate crunch stuff they put in the middle. I do not like it at all, and for me, it ruins the cake. Other than that, they are ok. The ice cream quality is on the better side of average, and the icing on the cake is good - not too sweet and goes quite nicely with the ice cream. The fact that they can put pretty much any image on a cake is pretty cool, though!!
When I was kid, I lived for DQ cakes! I loved the cookie centre and the ice cream and the taste. Now, as an adult, I find they are still decent, but they are a bit sweet. The main issue I have is the price! They are way too expensive! I can make an ice cream cake that is comparable in size and taste for about $10 as opposed to the almost $40 it costs me for a DQ cake. It is just not worth it for me.
