I was pleased to receive an invitation to try a dairy queen cake for free. I was planning to celebrate a special event for my daughter. I searched the web site to order it online but unfortunately the closest store to me did not have the size I want. I decided to visit the store, the customer service there was very good and inviting and the girl there helped me to choose which again was not much variety but I decided to get one any way.
I chose the blizzard chocolate extreme which tasted very good but I wished that I got a cake instead.
I would recommend dairy queen to anyone they have different products other than cakes, and it's family oriented.
I got the gift card in the mail and i am like wow this is cool
So i checked out the website and wow it was neat to see all the cakes. Kind of wish there were more to pick from. I found one i liked and it just happend that this weekend is my birthday so thank you for the birthday cake.
I order a traditional DQ® Cake would have liked to see more but happy with what I did pick. As for getting one from them again i would because I love Ice cream cakes. Next time i would like to try the cupcake cake
I received this product free to test.
I was so excited to receive a giftcard so that I could review a FREE Dairy Queen Cake - who doesn't want to eat free cake?!? I have to say I went into a Dairy Queen Store and picked a cake from the freezer, the cashier made sure to ask if I wanted it personalized and in about 5 minutes I was the proud owner of a cake with a written message on it. It happened to be my husbands 30th birthday and he was very pleasantly surprised with the cake. Normally cake ends up getting thown out after not being eaten in my house so it was almost shocking how fast it all got eaten. I am personally not a huge fan of ice cream cakes in general but my husband and the rest of the family are and they all were raving about it. I would say it is a great buy if you or someone you love like this kind of cake.
I was chosen to receive a free cake for review. I was unable to order online, but chose the traditional DQ cake to celebrate my mom's birthday. The selection was great, lots of different styles and sizes! Choosing the cake in store was not a problem, and it was quickly and easily personalized by the staff in-store. The cake tasted great, it's always a hit with my family, the chocolate, vanilla & cookie crunch is super tasty! I would definitely choose a DQ cake again in the future.
Loved the cake. It was easy to order online, but the store sold my cake to someone else. When I went to pick it up they said they had not received the email of my order. I did receive a confirmation so I knew the order went through. When I described the cake I ordered the lady behind the counter said "Oh another lady picked that cake up yesterday." After many minutes of trying to figure out what happened I decided to just buy a cake from the freezer. They said they could make me another one, but I would have to wait after they finished another order. I got the one from the freezer. They took $3 off and were every apologetic about the mix up. The cake was delicious. My whole family loved it!
I ordered a Cherry Cheesequake Blizzard cake. I originally went online to order, only to find out that the store in my town doesn't use the online service. So I had to go to the store to put in my order. The selection of cakes was great, but the one I wanted wasn't in the cooler, so I had to order it. In store, I was told I may not get the cake in 24 hours, although they were able to do it for me. The in-store pick up was ok. We got the cake to celebrate a birthday. The quality of the cake was good, however I wish they had put more cherry sauce on top. Overall, it was a great cake and I would definitely recommend to anyone. You know it's good when I had 2 pieces! :)
I ordered a DQ Cookie Dough Blizzard cake, but due to problems with the online ordering process, my order did not go through to the store and my cake was not ready when I needed to pick it up. I wish they had had more selection of blizzard cake flavors available to order online. I ended up getting an oreo blizzard cake instead as they had one already prepared. Although I was disappointed in the online ordering, the manager was very nice and gave me a free blizzard of my choice and a kids cone for my daughter to make up for the mistake. The store was nice inside, although there was very limited seating - only a few small benches.
The cake itself is delicious and is good quality ice cream as Dairy Queen usually delivers. Although I would recommend Dairy Queen ice cream cakes, I would choose to order in store next time as there seems to still be kinks in the online ordering and I would not want to be let down for an important special occasion.
** note: I was given a free cake by DQ to test for this product review.
I received a Dairy Queen ice cream cake for free as part of the product review club. It was my son's birthday and we looked at the website together to select a cake that he would enjoy. Unfortunately we were not able to order on line for pick-up at our local DQ location but we found the website useful for knowing what flavours were available. After using the website to select our cake, we called the closest location and placed our order. I think it is a great idea to be able to customize and select your cake on line without having to go in to the store. One way the site could be improved is if you could actually see a picture of the cake you had selected with your message written in the colour of icing or gel you had selected so you could get a sense of overall look, but overall, the website does what it needs to do - two days later, we picked up our cake. We selected a cookie dough blizzard cake. It was pretty good and painless in terms of the ordering process. I would definitely recommend it and hope our location gets hooked up with the online ordering system soon!
I was selected to take part in your Product Review Club. After doing research before ordering lol, I decided on the Peanut Butter Cup Blizzard Cake. It looked fantastic with all the fixings on top. I went in and ordered it and the girl was very nice. I picked it up after work the next day and was surprised to see it! I think the guy saw my [removed]guess I won't be getting an Academy award), and he said "It is Peanut Butter", without me even saying anything prior. I said, "Okay". The variety was wonderful to chose from, just they shouldn't advertise something if they can't come through. I guess they are hoping people don't know what it's suppose to look like. I decided on this for my daughter's birthday, and they did ask on the way out if I wanted writing, I said no thank you, only because that's not what was ordered. The quality is excellent, have always loved DQ. I would recommend to a friend, because I've had their cakes before, but I would NOT recommend a Blizzard cake! You don't get any more really, than you would with their basic ones...I did receive this product free to test, and it was still delicious as we love vanilla ice-cream! :)
I added 2 pictures but they don't appear...
I was selected to review this product for free!! I was excited because I've had DQ cakes before but I had never ordered from their website before. While the cake was good the ordering process was a disaster. I will never order online again, I would go in and talk to someone. Let me tell you why:
In first screen where they ask for your postal code there are pictures flashing on the different types of cake you can get and I saw the PERFECT cake. It had turquoise coloured icing on the bottom and top, it had sprayed lime-coloured on the sides that looked great and it was finished with a really cool font on top. I could not find that cake anywhere, I was really disappointed.
It first asked you whether you want a regular cake or blizzard cake. I chose the regular because I wanted to recreate the picture on their website. There are preset designs that you can pick such as licensed characters, seasonal, birthday themes.....but there wasn't much that I would have picked.
At the end there's a choice to make your cake design. I chose that one, thinking I can pick my own colours and font, it would be made just for me! I got to choose my colour for the words and what they say, so far so good. It asks what kind of picture you would like in the center and I blanked because I didn't want a picture I wanted the funky font saying Happy Birthday and I didn't know how to describe. There were no suggestions or drop down pictures to show me what kinds they had. Next they asked what colour my borders were to be, I could pick different colours for the bottom and top so I chose 2 different colours....I love colour!
The next screen was checkout....and I was like what?! I don't know what it's going to look like? It didn't give me a rough idea of the cake colour choice. I thought there would be a summary and a quick picture but there was a small drop down menu saying personalization summary but I missed it the first time.
I cancelled and went back to the beginning and chose the Oreo Blizzard cake because I knew there was a picture of the finished product. I knew there would be Oreo Cookies covering the entire top. It gave me the option to add a personal message so I chose Happy Birthday in Blue gel letters. I couldn't change the colour of the icing, I was sad :(
When I picked up my cake this is what is looked like, WHERE ARE THE OREOS? It should have stated that if you want a message most of the topping would be spared, maybe they should have the option of putting the letters on the side of the cake?? I wouldn't have personalized it if I had been more aware of that. If I would have actually paid for my cake I would have been disappointed because the cost of the blizzard cake is more expensive.
All in all I like the flavour but would prefer to talk to someone in person about the design to get exactly what I wanted. I see pictures of DQ cakes with photos of people but I couldn't find that option.
Thanks for selecting me to try the cake and rate the ordering process. My family thanks you as well!!
